Been trying to get in touch with them about summer camp. So far no response. It is extremely hard to get anyone on the phone.

I don't think 5 stars is enough for such a wonderful studio. Aside from high moral standards that…read morethey help me instill into my little one, they are kind, compassionate, and giving. The staff has never once been anything less than amazing, and my daughter has been coming for two years. The teachers are patient. The studio is well kept. It is all around the best choice in Chesapeake. If you are on the fence about where to send your little dancer, don't think twice about Academie De Ballet.

I have gone to other places dance recitals where there is clearly a lack of quality compared to here. Lessons. Typically an hour long. They will place you in class according to your dance level. There are classes that range from 3 year olds to older adults to teach you an array from ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, acrobatics, and more. The instructors who teach have been doing this for years! As for the little ones, you'll be amazed at how much they learn. The instructors are quite good with kids and reward them with stickers for good behavior. Lessons are typically held during the school year, but they also offer summer workshops. Also, if you refer other people to attend the school, you will receive a discount! Pictures. Pictures are always professionally done around the beginning of spring or so. I typically got a package of individual and group photo. You can see past group photos once you walk in the building to see what kind of quality you'll be getting. Recital. Recitals are divided according to level: Petite, Intermediate, Junior, Senior. So far they have all been held at Willet Hall in Portsmouth. The opening performances for each recital level are usually done by the Senior company which goes to show what level you can achieve if you keep at it... quite inspirational. By the end of the year, you truly see quality that you pay for. Overall, if you have a kid that is serious about dance, this is the place to go!

They sanitize the studio after every session and take cleanliness serious by encouraging parents to not bring sick children. This location also hosts camps and other events throughout the year for the little ones, they are extra fee though. Members do get discounts on these extra classes though. They also run limited deals throughout the year such as sign a sibling up and get 25% off or 50% for a second class for current members. My only small gripe is I wish the younger kids classes such as the 2 year olds were a bit lower priced since they aren't really learning any skills, but more so just playing on the equipment.

You know the saying, 'monkey see monkey do'? Well, our younger one wanted to do it too. So, we checked what was available for him since he is a bit younger. So because of age, they are in separate classes and can't do it together. No problem there as we figured it could help with their independence, and we even found classes that worked out better for them in the end. We like that parents are given the option to stay, but you don't have to. There is a window on the other side that you can watch your kiddo as they do their class. I really loved that as I could see how my kids went from shy and reserved to outgoing and excited. From what I saw, I wouldn't say either is doing 'gymnastics' lol, but they're having a really fun time, and that's enough for me. We'll continue to keep coming back as long as the kids want to.

My son already loved making games on his own but didn't have the coding knowledge needed to fully implement all of his creative ideas. Signing him up for twice weekly classes at Code Ninjas was a great decision for all of us. He gets out of the house, socializes with other kids, and learns new things, while his mom and dad get an hour break to shop or dine. The school is very clean and following COVID regulations; right now they require scheduled appointment times to limit the number of students at one time, they politely require masks, and they request the use of 'coding gel' (hand sanitizer) upon entry into and exit from the lab. Scheduling is easy with the website they use. The curriculum is structured so even kids with no prior coding experience can get started coding with no issue and kids can move up pretty quickly. They get to use different platforms and programming languages depending on their knowledge base, advancing with each 'belt'. Just like a karate dojo, kids start with their white belt and earn their way to higher belt colors through hard work. All of the projects are viewable and emailed to the parents, too! I've played a few of my son's games and they're pretty cool. He's super proud of them. The kids get to participate in camps and Parents Night Outs (which I am really looking forward to!).

I spoke with Nathan who seems to be in charge of both facilities and spoke at length about their programs and particularly their summer week long camp. I went ahead and scheduled a free tour at the Virginia Beach location. The facility was a lot larger than it looked. A young lady came out and took my son to the back and he created his own game while hubby and I talked with the young man who seemed to be in charge. He explained their year long programs as well as their summer camp 3D modeling. They were very knowledgeable about STEM and the facility was super inviting. They had a 3D printer displayed out front. A couple of days later I went ahead and signed my son up for one of their week-long camps 9-12 Monday-Friday but at the Chesapeake location. He is super excited! I will be sure to follow up with an updated review. So far I give them 5 stars!
