I spent the day with Brian yesterday and I can confidently say that he is one of the best doing it today and an absolute credit to home inspectors on the whole. I'm probably not the typical home inspection client - I'm comfortable doing the vast majority of work in a home (hvac, plumbing, electric, drywall, showers etc), have done major remodels myself and did my own inspection when buying a 1920 condo in NYC (5 years later, didn't miss anything) because the last time I worked with an inspector I was unimpressed with their findings and found significantly more myself. Brian came highly recommended by our agent and the home in question is a 1700s home that will be a huge project with a laundry list of known issues, so I knew even though the seller wasn't going to be fixing the things we found, I still needed a truly comprehensive inspection by someone who knows these historic homes. This man knows his stuff and then some. I have no doubt he could pivot into literally any trade tomorrow and be operating at a high level. I was blown away by his thoughtful approach, attention to detail and encyclopedic knowledge of historic homes. Some of the best money I've ever spent and I feel very confident that we're going in eyes wide open. I will jump at the next opportunity I get to hire him and will recommend inspections plus to anyone who asks. Whatever he's charging, he's worth it. Book with confidence! read more

This was our first home purchase ever, and we were kind of flying blind on how everything is supposed to go. That being said, our first home inspection performed by Brian from Inspections Plus was FLAWLESS. Brian and his staff are very professional and swift. He also has a very clear to understand web portal for agreement signatures, payment, confirmation etc. He gave us such a wealth of information during our inspection that I was even more happy that we had him. He has a red/orange/yellow designation of things they found in the potential house to indicate the danger or risk level. Thankfully our future property didn't have any red level things. Since he has fire Marshall experience in a nearby town he gave us insights on what we should plan on fixing down the road and what possible problems might arise for innocuously seeming things. Example, the basement had with a full size door on the side of the house that didn't have great drainage or an awning to keep snow from building up during storms. That's something that isn't currently making glaring damage but over time it could rot the door frame or in a big storm have a flood potential. The digital reporting he compiled was clear to understand with pictures and video. Highly recommend him! read more

Fantastic all around. Very thorough inspection. Detailed reports with pictures and videos. We were out of state and video conference was done to go over a few things. Very responsive with any questions after the inspection was done. Super convenient that other services are also available (Well Water testing, radon, sewer camera) which made it very convenient for us. Highly recommend for your home inspection needs! read more

I highly recommend Inspection Plus LLC. Brian and his team did a thorough home inspection for us by using high-tech equipment - drone footage of the roof, camera in the septic, and provided an explanation for all our questions. We used Inspection Plus LLC as our one stop shop for all the inspections we needed; home, radon, termite, well, water potability, and septic. Brian was fantastic all around. I walked with him while he inspected our condo (we purchased brand new last April and the 12 month home warranty will expire in April 2023 and we wanted to find any issues now in order to deal with them before the warranty expired). He was patient , extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me, good or bad. His written report (70+ pages with many photos and including embedded videos for clarification) was detailed, well organized and very easy to follow. And the cost of the inspection I found to be very reasonable considering the quality of the inspection and report. Inspections Plus LLC was started by Brian Andrews, who started as a landlord/investor in 2001 and has since worked as a contractor/builder of residential properties in Connecticut. Having a background as a contractor, as well as a Realtor, gives us a advantage of having wide knowledge of the industry. Not only can we point out things that may need repair, we can explain options on how it can be corrected.

Meet the Business Owner: Brian A.

Brian Andrews, CT License HOP.000611 has a diverse background in the residential real estate industry that gives him an advantage over other inspectors. He has been an investor and manager of rental income properties since 2001, and owns several Connecticut rental properties. Brian also has broad experience as a licensed contractor doing major renovation work to existing housing, as well as construction of new homes. His general contracting background and familiarity with building codes and construction practices are very helpful in understanding why certain conditions may exist within a home and how they can be best corrected. Brian has also held mortgage origination and real estate sales licenses, which gives him insight into the buying process and an understanding of how the home inspector can best serve the client's needs. When he is not inspecting homes, Brian likes to spend his time with his wife and son, and he is a Captain with the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department.

Brian and his assistant, Mike, were excellent. I found Brian online while researching home inspectors who had experience beyond just being a certified home inspector (i.e. construction, engineering, other trades, etc.). I'm a first-time home buyer so this was my first home inspection. I could not have asked for a better experience. It didn't hurt that the house is fairly new (2003) and very well kept, but Brian was sure to be extremely thorough and informative nonetheless. Brian was very pleasant to deal with. He explained his process before he started, answered questions, and did detailed walk-throughs with us after completing various areas of the home (exterior, interior, basement). It was clear he was there not only to find potential issues in the home, but also to explain good maintenance habits to prevent future problems (ie - painting exterior metal surfaces like basement window frames or hatchway doors to prevent corrosion and eventual leaks). Brian was also very good about explaining what signs are normal vs. a potential problem (ie - the different types of cracks that may appear in concrete). Brian also uses a software that makes reading his reports very easy. A few hours after our inspection, I received an email with a link to my report (and the ability to download it). The report is broken down into different rooms and/or components of the house. Within each section there is a grid checking off the things that were or were not inspected and whether or not there are recommendations. To follow, within each section, are plenty of pictures showing the areas in question AND videos if additional explanation is needed. He will even include links to YouTube videos in the report if he finds smaller Do-It-Yourself items in the home. Also, all items he points out are color coded as somewhat of a severity scale so it's easy to interpret what things need attention sooner than later. A couple of days later, I received another report for the 48-hour radon test attached to the inspection. Bottom line, Brian was very thorough, informative, patient, and fairly priced. Brian, from Inspectionplusct.com was extremely thorough in doing the inspection. He was prompt, pleasant, had a lot of patience for a new home owner who didn't understand everything he was pointing out and needed a second explanation. He observed every detail. He let you know what was minor and what was important. He had a drone to check the roof - he took pictures and videos. He told you what kind of workman you needed to do the repair. And his report, which was easy to read, was delivered by email that night. The brokers present at the inspection and my lawyer who reviewed the report all confirmed that he was excellent at his job. I give Inspections Plus 5 stars! I am a first time home buyer and was completely uneducated in home systems and what inspections entail. First off, it was very easy to make an appointment. I got a real person in real time on the line immediately and they were able to schedule my inspection within the week. I was even more impressed once I met Brian for the inspection. As a REALTOR® I've attended many home inspections with clients and have purchased quite a few homes myself. Brian showed up on a rainy day early to walk the roof and outside of the house. Throughout the process he stepped through everything he noticed, how bad he thought it was, and what the long term consequences of leaving it too long were. The final report included all of these details as well as maintenance and upkeep recommendations that new home owners will find very helpful. There are additional add-ons for inspection and he was flexible in adding them on site when I brought it up. The software used for inspection is great. Speeds up the final report and will be sent to both you and your agent to view or download online. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Brian responded to my call right away and went off on inspection the very next day. He sent me an amazing report with photos, measurements and a slew of details the day after. I appreciated Brian and Mike arriving and starting the inspection before I came to the house. Brian was very personable and knowledgeable.
