Had an exceptional experience. We came in late one evening and wanted to order some cookies. There were some in the oven and were told they would be ready at a specific time. We came back and they were not ready. The employee was incredibly apologetic. We were totally fine with it. Just wiped from the fair. He ended up giving us some complimentary waters while we waited. The cookies came out, piping hot and were absolutely delicious! There was street parking and several things to do and see while we waited. Some of the stores were already closed for the evening, but many of the places had live music right around there. There was a sitting area inside, but we opted to walk around while we waited.
Stopped by for dessert after date night. They were extremely busy but our order was taken very quickly and we received it within five minutes. The ice cream was absolutely delightful light and fluffy and it's always the cookies were fresh and delicious.

On a Sunday night, this was a fun stop for me and one of my besties. We picked up half a dozen fresh baked cookies to enjoy with some silly streamed movies at the homestead. The staff was nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The cookies were the best cookies I've had in awhile! I enjoyed a peanut butter and chocolate one as well as a gluten free chocolate chip cookies. So many options for cookie selection next time too. A great Sunday pickup!
Best Big Wich I've had. I got Chocolate Chunk cookies with buttercream in the middle and it's so great they warm the cookies first as it was easier to eat and it was worth coming here. They have so many goodies on the menu to choose from so but the Big Wich was amazing dessert I've tasted in Columbia. Excellent dessert.
Cookies are yummy and are indeed served warm. Problem here by far is the value. Expect to pay upwards of 2 dollars a cookie and these are nowhere near huge cookies. I'd say most are just normal size. The interior of this establishment has seen better days for sure and definitely could use a makeoever and that right soon. If you're drunk and want cookies in Five Points, this is a good choice, otherwise, you probably won't walk away from this place feeling too great about the money you just spent.
This place is my jam especially in February when they have red velvet cookies! If you haven't tried them be on the lookout because you can't eat just one! They offer a variety of your classic cookies: chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia and a few others. The cookies are always warm but they are a little pricey $1.60/cookie. Plus they are open late. They also sell ice cream but I haven't tried it yet Update: 10/26/19 As much as I love them their prices have went up I paid $10.45 for 6 cookies and that's a bit much although they are cool this will be a special treat.
When you have a craving for something sweet look no further than Insomnia cookies. Where the cookies are served in a pizza box warm and gooey! We ordered a dozen and couldn't wait to get home to try it. My favorite was the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip with M&M. My boyfriend really enjoyed the double chocolate mint cookie. The only reason they didn't get five stars is the price...$26.00 for a dozen cookies and two milks is a bit much in my opinion

Insomnia was great! Sadly, I'm trying to lay off the sugar at the moment, so I only got one (1) singular cookie. Having said that, my cookie was warm, gooey, and absolutely delicious! Furthermore, Insomnia definitely tested my discipline, and I was very tempted to try some more of the cookies, brownies, and ice cream that they had. Luckily, I was able to maintain my discipline, but I can't recommend them enough for those wanting something sweet! read more

I stopped in to grab some cookies for my family before I concluded my visit. I think this was my first time having Insomnia Cookies outside of New York. While they originated in Philly, they are literally all over NYC and are dangerous when a sweet tooth hits on a late night. I was surprised when I walked into this Columbia, SC location to see how spacious it was and there was actually no one waiting. We waited a few for the young lady to finish what she was doing in the back and realize we were there. I picked an assortment for a 12pack, entered my number for points, tapped to pay and was on my way. Just A Note: If you haven't already, I recommend you get the app and start accumulating those sweet treat points. read more
I went here with a close friend and her child along with mine. This was a treat for all of their hard work during cookie season! Ironic isn't it? We arrived and the store was mostly empty, as we were figuring out our order, the store became packed. I was glad we arrived when we did. The gentleman behind the counter was helpful and helped us completed our order. The ice cream sandwich was delicious, it was warm enough to slightly melt the cookies and just perfect to eat. Insomnia cookies isn't just about cookies, they also have awesome ice cream. I recommend dunking your cookies in your ice cream. You'll notice the good smells as soon as you walk in. read more

Do yourself a favor and just splurge on the Sugar Rush (12 cookies) box. I made the mistake of getting the Six Pack (6 cookies) and regretted it. I mean these cookies are really, really, really good! They are extremely soft, rich, and did I mention really, really good?! I opted for 3 of the snickerdoodle, 1 chocolate chunk, and 2 double chocolate chunk. And although I'd definitely get all 3 varieties again, my favorite favorite was the snickerdoodle. OMG! Just do it and thank me later! read more

Did I tell you my goal while I was visiting Columbia was to eat as much as humanly possible? On my way to pick up the Village Idiot pizza I saw the storefront to this place right next door. I made sure to make a note of it as I went upstairs to pick up my pizza and then on the way down went right in to take a look at what they had. The place looked empty and it made me a little sad that a cupcake place would be so deserted-pun not intended but totally awesome! Little did I know that they had really only been open for a few hours-thus Insomnia cookies. Anyway, I got the chocolate peanut butter cupcake while my friend got red velvets for him and his wife. My chocolate peanut butter was okay, I was expecting it to be a cupcake version of a peanut butter cup, but it was more chocolate than peanut butter. My friend's choice was better, the red velvet was a delight, slightly chocolatey but with a nice buttercream texture and flavor. I should have gone with a cookie, but the red velvet was nice. read more

The cookies themselves are great. I ordered a macadamia cookie and it was chewy on the inside and had just the right amount of crunch on the outside of the cookie. Reason why I'm giving it a 3 is because we weren't acknowledged when we walked in and it took us a bit for the cashier to take our order and cash us out which would have been understandable if the place was busy. The restroom were also a mess, thank goodness I bring my own hand sanitizer because there was no soap on the soap dispenser. Over all i'll return for the white chocolate macadamia cookie but will take it to go. read more

Randomly stopped by here while walking to Sushi Yoshi. The interior is not very inviting. I would only come here to pick up cookies to go. They have two sizes of cookies and variety from snickerdoodle to s'mores to peanut butter cup. They also have ice cream. I think you can make a nice ice cream sandwich cookie, but I didn't stay in the shop long enough to discover all they have to offer. I got a triple chocolate chunk deluxe cookie (the larger size). They keep their cookies in a warm oven, so they stay warm and gooey. I started to eat my cookie as soon as I left the shop. It was good, but I wasn't amazed. I saved some of my cookie to eat later and I actually liked it better after it cooled. This place is nice if you are a cookie fan, but to fill my personal cookie craving I would be OK with some (cheaper) cookies from Subway. read more

Upon entering insomnia cookies on a Friday night, my friend shannen and I were met with a beautiful scent of fresh baked cookies. We opted for a la mode cookie topped with icecream! When faced with a difficult decision of multiple icecream options, the kind hearted employee Jermayne (Germaine), made sure that we got exactly what our taste buds were looking for!! Big shout out to him for making our night! 10/10 would recommend! read more
