Very good response time, the owner seems to be right on top of customers needs. I highly recommend this business.

The overall vibe is more toward a fast-food/ casual restaurant feel rather than anything fancy-- but food us very good. They don't have wifi. Service is ok nothing special .

I saw this place and told him that I always wanted to give this place a try. Kalamata has both a restaurant and pizza place and we opted for the latter. This place also serves sushi as well. The windows were covered up so you can't see the interior but I knew it was a pizza joint. We ordered and shared the following: Eggplant parm pizza- when we got it , Hubs asked if we had the wrong pizza. This didn't look like the usual eggplant parm pizza. It was tiny pieces of eggplant and not like chunks of it. The pizza also had pesto spiral swirled around. It was a nice surprise. Hubs thought the pesto spiral was a nice touch. The pieces of eggplant was very flavorful. The sauce was very flavorful and the pizza crust was nice and soft but crispy enough on the bottom. Shakshuka- this came with 3 eggs. We thought this order was delicious. It came with a few slices of bread but it wasn't enough to sop up the sauce. Hubs brought it home to put it on top of his ramen. LOL. We also took home the tomatoes and cucumbers that came along with it as well. This place is a pleasant surprise. There were a lot of flies flying around the pizzas, but we were surprised that the flies didn't come towards us when we were eating. We were glad to not end up at the Jackson Diner. Will return to try other items on the menu.

My son and I both had their cheesesteak with peppers. Not your typical Philly cheesesteak (rib eye) but did not matter because their choice of meat cheese peppers and roll were phenomenal. Highly recommend if you're in Asbury Park area. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant had a great vibe. THE OL' STEAK SANG-GWEECH Our Cheesesteak Sandwich. Absolutely NO brotherly love is put into this mass of meat and cheese. Our house sliced top round seasoned to perfection with hot cherry peppers, red onion and smothered in american cheese served on an extra soft pan baked hero

The burgers are great, and the last time I tried their cheesesteak which normally comes with cherry peppers and red onion. I asked for it plain, and it was super delicious. Portion sizes are solid, and prices are reasonable considering the area. We actually ended up here because Pasta Volo -- one of my favorite spots in Asbury Park -- was closed that day. The Speakeatery made for a great backup. You order at the counter, and the service is decent. The space is long and narrow with some stool seating up front and more table and chair seating towards the back. The grill and kitchen are situated in the middle of the restaurant. The place only has indoor seating, which fits the speakeasy vibe nicely. Overall, I'd recommend The Speakeatery for breakfast or lunch when you're visiting Asbury Park for the day.
