So sorry Headgear Plus folks for taking so long to sing your praises! In a nutshell: professional, friendly, reasonably priced, high quality, flexible, and collaborative. In my capacity as art director/designer/branded apparel purchaser/general you-name-it-art-guy for a 50+ year old adventure travel company, I have worked with Headgear Plus for well over a decade. They have handled embroidered hats and silkscreened t-shirts for our clients, as well as all manner of outdoor gear for our field staff including wicking shirts, safari-style shirts, rain shells, parkas, fleece tops, fleece beanies, tents, and probably a few other things that I've forgotten about. I've either always been happy with the final product or, in cases where the sample was less than what I had envisioned, they have always been great about working with me to find solutions to make it come out right in the end. They are great about explaining why certain things don't work so well, and in advising as to how I can alter my design slightly and how they can alter their process slightly to add up to a bullseye! Headgear Plus has always been on-time or at the very least communicative about why a project will miss its estimated delivery date. Then they are very conscientious about making sure my order gets done and out the door as soon as the delaying issue has been resolved (which usually boils down to the product simply being temporarily out of stock at their supplier). We are probably not a negligible account, but we are by far NOT a big fish...I am sure they have accounts that dwarf ours. But they NEVER treat me like that. Whether I need 5,000 caps for our loyalty program or literally one shirt embroidered for a trade show, they are on it like I'm ordering 30,000 units. Plus they are one of the few vendors I've worked with that have consistently friendly and high quality customer service, and here I'll single out Kate and Dave as absolute rock stars. They've even indulged me to come to the plant and force them to watch (and advise) while I go through dozens and dozens of thread samples to find one that would work with a really hideously colored parka that one of our guides ordered. And we even found one that made it look good! Yeah, that was too long. The take-away is work with Headgear, you won't be sorry.

The day before I was supposed to pick it up, they called me and told me they had "lost" my stole. Instead of taking accountability, they told me to go buy another stole myself and that they would embroider the replacement "on the spot." I ended up taking time off work trying to deal with this mess, and to make things worse, I could barely even get ahold of the store while trying to figure out what was going on. When I asked if they could at least reimburse me for losing my stole, they told me they couldn't because they were "no longer making a profit" off my order. There was little to no apology, no urgency, and absolutely no professionalism. Then after all the back and forth, they suddenly "found" my stole and told me to come pick it up at 5:30. It became pretty obvious that they never actually lost it -- they just lied about it to buy themselves more time. This was one of the most stressful customer service experiences I've had, especially considering this was for a major life event. Really shitty service. I would not recommend trusting them with anything important or time-sensitive.
