We contracted with Evoke Roofing (Seth Wehunt & Kyle Frame) and it took a month for work to begin. The absolutely worst mistake in my life.
Fence: failed to complete fencing, still needs to be stained the fence, broke tile on back porch, used wrong size rot board when tying into fence. They even took a 5-gallon bucket and dumped screws on the porch and ground, from when I took down and disposed of the old fence.
Roof: did not replace broke rafters, did not fix structural damages, did not replaced 320 square feet of decking. The decking that they replaced had gaps outside of code. The failed to replace 2 power vents, only replacing on vent with a standard attic vent.
Also, during the roof repair, the fascia and soffit repairs were done poorly and the structural damage is visible. Kyle Frame also removed gutters that were not damaged from storm without my consent to claim a "Supplement" from insurance, damaging fascia which have yet to be repaired and gutters replaced. When I asked Kyle Frame about painting the fascia and soffits, he told me that gutters would cover them up.
After complaining to the ownership to Evoke Roofing and General Contracting, LLC, Owen Larson refused to provide documentation to the work completed, the amount of material used, materials left over from the work.
Mike Larson, the other owner, came out and viewed the work competed, and during the walk through I showed him the debris buried in dirt left, shingles left in yard other trash, along with the broken tile on the porch. While showing him the trash left and poor work done, he even stepped on a roofing nail that went through his Hey Dudes. I even showed Mike Larson the damages inside the home and the poor work texture and drywall repairs. Mike Larson viewed the painting, victrola, floors, and furniture. While meeting with Mike Larson, I told Mike Larson that I was a disable veteran with spinal cord damage and was unable to inspect the work completed on the roof or in the attic. I also suffer for service-related respiratory issues that the dust from the drywall work with was performed, they did not use air handlers and left dust throughout the house, causing increased breathing problems.
After meeting with Mike Larson, he agreed to have an independent inspector or engineer to review work completed on roof. However, after Mike Larson returned from vacation in Mexico for a week, he came to the house with a J.F. "Pete" Spicer with United Aligned Consultancy. After checking the Texas Professional Engineers database, it was discovered that "Pete" or James F. "Pete" Spicer was not licensed in Texas as an engineer, nor was United Aligned Consultancy. It was also discovered after checking Texas SOS and Texas CPA, that United Aligned Consultancy was owned by John Berry Wehunt, the father of Seth Wehunt. This is definitely not an independent inspection, as a matter of fact with John Berry Wehunt, a license engineer, this is a violation of law.
Wait gets better, after my wife voiced frustrating, Mike Larson threatened to "part ways," I guess this means the $34,995.00 paid to Evoke Roofing and General Contracting would be lost. He also added that he would respond when he stopped........still waiting for the response.
Because the threat Mike Larson made to my wife abscond with money paid to them to complete repairs, lies told by Kyle Frame, the scam "third party inspection," and the over theft, fraud, insurance fraud, I sent a 10-day demand letter requesting that all repairs be completed by a third-party BBB rated business paid by Evoke Roofing. I also submitted a complaint to the BBB and complaint to Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for the conflict of interest.
Take this review, how you may......but it is the truth, I tried to help remedy the problems, but just got scammed yet again by Kyle Frame, Seth Wehunt, Mike Larson, and Owen Larson, as well as, John Wehunt, PE and James "Pete" Spicer, PG.
