After going on a butterfly hike in a local park and learning about various plants that attract…read morehumming birds and butterflies, I sought out a nursery that stocked plants like I wanted. After reading great reviews, I decided to pay Richard Lyons Nursery a visit and was glad I did. The property is a little tricky to find and from the street doesn't look that big, but once you enter, you will see the outside looks are deceiving. This place is packed with all sorts of ornamentals, fruit trees and other types of plants. After choosing several plants and having the sales ticket written up, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $40. Had I gone to another place in Kendall or a major retailer, I would have paid much more. I will definitely be back for more.

We first discovered Lyons in our search for rare Atala butterflies to augment the population at our house... the folks at Montgomery botanical center had recently brought a population of Atala caterpillars to feed on Lyons sizable coontie selection. We were lucky to get a coontie with freshly laid eggs... that was in late September, and they emerged from their cocoons today (late October). They have a wonderful selection of butterfly larval and nectar plants. They have both local and exotic plants also including bamboo, heliconia, and more. When you arrive, park a short way in... a siren will announce your presence, and you'll soon be met by a guide in a golf cart. We've been four times so far, and each time we go we've discovered a new area, and new plants. As you wander around, make sure you look at the amazing mature specimens that dot the property.... such an amazing variety... it rivals a botanical garden!

Took a drive down to from Ft. Lauderdale and upon entering we were immediately made to feel like…read moreyou were walking into their home. Kay introduced herself with a warm handshake. She showed us around and answered all our questions. She even offered a cool drink & the use of their restroom. I have never seen so many plumerias in one place. The sized range from large established trees to new seedlings. The rows of pots were lined up in alphabetical order and most had pictures of what the flowers look like. Bought a few plants & Excalibur fertilizer and promised to be back soon. What a hidden gem and superior customer service. Thank you!

(This was the end of the season and it was in a hard to see spot that I only discovered upon potting, so it was very understandable that it passed their inspection). I reached out to via phone call and spoke to a wonderful woman who advised me on how to care for it and to contact her if it didn't pull through. She extended the warranty for me. When it became apparent the little guy wasn't going to make it, I called back and the woman refilled my order. I am very impressed with their customer service, warmth, and integrity of standing by their product. I would 100% recommend them and will be ordering from them in the future. I enjoy supporting businesses that take care of their customers, and they were so warm and helpful!

Absolutely spectacular experience! I had an amazing day here…read moretoday I came to pick an avocado tree for a property I own in Fort Lauderdale and it was well worth the hour drive! The 50 acre farm is like visiting a botanical garden. One of the staff drove us around in a golf cart and tirelessly explained the varieties to me even though I must have seemed like a total city idiot mixing things up over and over... I ended up purchasing a " bacon avocado" ten lemongrass bushes and a fig tree. I'll be back for a mango tree for sure We also had a nice picnic under a thatched roof they have Highly recommend this place!!!

The staff were helpful but you knew they really didn't want to deal with somebone buying one or two items. We took a brief tour on the golf cart and I picked out a Sweetheart Lychee and a Barbados Cherry. Each time I was going to buy, I was pointed to the ugly ducklings, not the nicer trees that were shown at first. Determined to purchase something after driving an hour and wanting to support them, I bought the trees anyway. I've done enough gardening to know when a nursery is trying to sell you their 2nd rate stock The staff member carefully loaded the trees into my car. The office was small but efficient. My friend tried to make small talk. I was looking to leave. I paid in cash and we were on our way. In the future, I would buy from other nurseries that are willing to sell me better quality product. Members of my family have a large business up north that buys wholesale plants and trees from Homestead. I guess you have to be in the business.

From the start, Roberto really listened to what I wanted. I shared photos of the design I was going for, including my preference for agave and succulent-style plants, and he did an exceptional job sourcing and selecting the perfect ones. He started on a Wednesday and had everything completed by Friday. His labor costs were very fair, and the quality of work truly exceeded my expectations. I was initially a bit hesitant since there were no prior reviews, but I'm so glad I gave him a chance--he absolutely delivered. The finished project looks incredible during the day, but what really impressed me was how beautiful it looks at night with the lighting. It completely transformed the space. I would definitely recommend Roberto's Lawn Care to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality landscaping work.
