We had high expectations when my child joined GradePower. Reviews and parent recommendations were…read moreexcellent. Unfortunately, for us, the experience was not great. The first few weeks, my child was provided a workbook that was two grades below him on accident. After they discovered this mistake, they quickly moved him to the correct book. However, GradePower did not notify me of this nor did they attempt to make amends for this error. My child never came home with any workbook or items to review once he left their facility. After several months, I asked that GradePower focus on more of the items that my child struggled with versus the items he was already good at. Alex, the owner, agreed, but then the teachers, I feel, still did what was easiest which was not to challenge my child on the difficult items. I never received any feedback from the teachers directly. Unless I asked my child, I did not know what they were working on at any given time. Alex was always available to discuss my child, which was great. He was professional at all times. The front office person was also always pleasant. I think this program does work for the many who reviewed GradePower with high marks. I also think a student who is eager for additional support, may benefit from this program. Unfortunately for us, overall it was a negative experience. As a last comment: I was also disappointed that GradePower continued to require masks after all mandates at businesses and schools had dropped this requirement. When asked about a timeline for them to be "optional", the response was that it would be a very long time. Alex said if it was up to him, they would never come off.

I have never been so proud and even more surprised just after 6 months at Kumon my son's standardized tested result as 95 percentiles in reading and 97 percentiles in math for his grade nationally. I cannot thank Ms. Dolly and her staff enough for doing such an amazing job to help him staying on the right track. Ms. Dolly has always stayed on top of timely communications with the parents about Komon's teaching methodology and the kid's learning progress. At the same time when she helps all the kids, she has also been a great mentor to all the parents. The teachers bring fun and lots of variety to his day! The food is also good on variety, and my son seems to enjoy all of it! They are VERY mindful of allergies, special diets or requests when it comes to food. They keep things color coded and organized so that each child gets what they are supposed to at meal times. I also have an infant there now and they make sure he's included even though he's not participating in the activities yet. I love how easy it is to stay in touch. They have an app where you can put in all your notes about the kids before they go, and then the app gets updated throughout the day so you know how much they eat, how they are pottying, napping, etc. and they can upload photos and videos which is so great! I feel connected to my kids during the day! Also, their administration team is super helpful. I've had plenty of phone calls and emails with them and they are super responsive and know their stuff. The admins will set you up with a zoom conference to meet your child's teacher if they are switching classes. My mind is at ease when my kids are at daycare, because they think of everything! Being in a pandemic, it was not an easy choice to decide if we send our kids to daycare. But everyone over 2 is masked, they require daily screening and frequent hand washing to keep everyone safe. I am very thankful for his time. Unrelated to my call, I was informed that they are staffed with 11 Security Guards, and over 200 Security Cameras. As I went to HS back in the day of Typing Class for females only, and an outdoor smoking area for students and teachers, this was all very pleasant to learn.
