Nam's academy isn't a shiny franchise gym, but it is clean and holds an abundance of character. The classes are generally small so you get plenty of attention and assistance from the instructors. Nam is the owner of the academy and he is very respectful and attentive to his students. His years of competing professionally in MMA are considerable and his expertise is reflected in his style of coaching. He is dynamic, adept, and effective. He pushes you to leave everything you have left on the mat every single class. As a novice I was able to learn and progress confidently with each class. The head coach is an amazing instructor and an active competitor who always wins his division, it is very rare to find an actively competing coach who can teach well and give good details. The students at GBWA are very lucky to have coach Heverson because he teaches techniques that have been proven to work in competition. If you are in the West Anaheim area visit this place.
