We recently had Elias and his company install a sound system in our family room, kitchen, dining…read moreroom and outdoor patio areas. In addition he installed and recommended what TV we should purchase. The design of the system as well as his recommendations was invaluable, especially for those of us who have little experience in these areas. The installation was done neatly and he came everyday until it was finished. They were neat, polite and called to let us know he was coming each morning. His price was reasonable and the service after the job was the best one could ask for. We had a power surge which destroyed some equipment and he worked hard to make sure the manufacturer replaced it. We would not use anyone else and have referred him to others who are equally satisfied.

The owner, Glenn, made baseless excuses of supposed "structural issues" in my home. He then threatened us with a lawsuit and requested to settle with a non disparaging agreement so we hired a lawyer to settle without a NDA. Think about how many other unhappy clients may have not shared their story here because they have settled with an NDA. I hired total home interiors to improve the impact noise in my 2 story home. Rich came to measure decibel ratings with his iPhone and claimed they would be able to provide a 70% improvement with their recommendation. Their solution was to screw down my hardwood floors to prevent squeaking, apply acoustical glue, place down acoustical rubber, accoustical caulk along the perimeters, and finally place underlayment and a floating floor on top. Halfway through the project (after placing the acoustical rubber), we went upstairs excited to see if the acoustical work they had done had an impact. To our dismay, there was zero improvement and we noticed increased vibration in the apartment below. We raised a concern to them so the next day, Glenn stopped by for a visit. He went upstairs and claimed he felt swaying from the floors and that our house must have structural issues and tried to have our other contractor corroborate his story. We found out later he was using this time to convince our contractor to work with him so they could "make a lot of money together" rather than taking our matter seriously. We told him we didn't want to move forward with the project if things were getting worse but Glenn assured us that once we put down the floating floors, everything will work. However after completing the work, the house now vibrates, floors still squeak and the impact noise is much more prevalent with the vibrations shaking the floors downstairs everytime someone walks upstairs. To justify his shortcomings, he was fixated on the supposed "structural issues" of our home rather than the substandard work. He requested that we spend an additional 2-3k to hire a structural engineer to cut multiple invasive holes in our new ceiling for an assessment. One of the structural engineers was kind enough to examine pictures of the joists within my home along with measurements and confirmed that the joists are properly sized and there are no structural issues in my home. Based off of that information and also having done a home inspection recently, we were sure the home didn't have structural issues and did not move forward with Glenn's suggestion since was not the one footing the bill and has proven poor judgement. They categorize themselves as acoustical consultants on Google which is very misleading because his team has no acoustical credentials. The workers who came here reeked of marijuana, acted unprofessionally and left acoustical glue all over our newly painted walls. He charged 13.2k for the work including acoustical glue and rubber for a 1,000 sq ft apartment. We had to purchase an additional 6k of laminate flooring and underlayment. We were desperate and was willing to pay a premium thinking they knew what they were doing. Since the work done by this company decreased the soundproofing in our home, we refused to pay the rest of the 50% balance (~6.6k) and asked Glenn to walk away amicably since he obviously had no idea how to fix the issue. He was continuing to try to get us to pay for more services (at a profit) to fix the issue and claimed we were using him as a scapegoat for the structural issues in our home. Glenn wanted $3500 and a NDA so that quote we do not "pollute the internet with a skewed version of what is happening". As you can see, this is probably what he does; overcharge and then offer a reduced rate and NDA after things go awry to silence unhappy clients. After repeated threats of lawsuit, we decided to communicate only through our lawyers. We settled on $4750 with no other stipulations so we can tell our story and save everyone the trouble.
