She will attack you with her wagging tail and will expect nothing less than a good rub! Then you will greeted by the most wonderful inn keepers around. Dianne and Jeff are two extremely energetic and thoughtful individuals. They respect your privacy and are so welcoming into their home. Here comes the best part. The rooms! If you are there strictly to sleep, the upstairs have 2 rooms with ensuite bathrooms. There is a wrap around deck that overlooks Miller Lake. If you are like me though, you may want to spend some time in your vacation home... this is where the Moondance suite will come into play. Its in the lower level and comes complete with a living room, wood stove, bar, bathroom with Sauna (safari inspired!) and then the best part, a private hot tub that over looks the sunset over miller lake! There is also a BBQ to cook a delicious meal on. You will wake up in the morning to the smell of amazing homemade muffins / baked goods baking in the oven. Dianne will then shower you with some of the best breakfast cooking ever. She makes a mean Eggs Benedict, a delicious Pancakes with a Banana and walnut glaze, and a fabulous Frittata. You will never leave with an empty stomach. One last thing I should mention.. the soap is made from goats milk (www.theudderfarm.com) which leaves your skin so soft and the bed sheets are so comfortable, its like taking a nap on cloud 8. The price is right and Tobermory is a cool vacation destination.. so head on over to Cloud 8 and be sure to say hi to Dianne and Jeff for me!

Among pros: 5 minutes walk to downtown, close to boat tours, pubs/restaurants and local National Parks. There are bicycles available for guests, but without helmets, free Netflix and Internet. Free continental breakfast (fresh fruit, croissants, other pastry, coffee, tea, granola bars, yogurt, juice). Water, juice and tea were available during the day. There are only three rooms in this guest house. A Mermaid's Casita (where we stayed) and it is the first room downstairs with small private area to seat outside which guests who stay in the second room (Fisherman's Shanty, downstairs as well) have to pass to get to their room (so not really private area) and the Georgian upstairs which is a bigger room and of course the most private. The stairs to this room are next to Mermaid's Casita outside sitting area. The reception area is not well displayed, the guest house is cut out of a small wood lot. The room was rather dark, even on sunny days room lighting was very dim, concrete floors rather uninviting, shower beside toilet had no door separating it from rest of BR. Things all got wet :-( We could hear neighbors upstairs go to BR, take a shower, etc, common outdoor eating area for continental breakfast was right outside our bedroom window (little privacy), so we had to keep our blinds closed almost all the time which made our room even darker but we didn't want everyone passing our room see what's inside. If the room was cheaper it would have been okay, but we paid $270 per night, which is so overpriced for what we got. I would say hearing neighbors upstairs was the worse because almost everyday they got up around 6 am and we unfortunately couldn't sleep anymore as we heard them walking, taking shower, talking...

If you work hard for your money, you expect some luxury for $400 a night. There is none of that here. Pros: Close to town Cute patio (but mosquito filled and no citronella candles? Or lighter for candles?) Comfy bed Cons Extortionate price - I get hospitality biz are suffering but the owner of this place is not local and bought it last year mid pandemic. $800+ for two nights in a motel is taking full advantage of people. Shameful. Paper thin walls esp downstairs. You can hear EVERYTHING from adjacent rooms. Convos, tv, sex, bowel movements. All of it. As if it was in your room. Rooms downstairs are dark and musty. Concrete floor Mosquitos - bring repellent Hard concrete/uneven stone floor - bring slippers or be prepared to wear your shoes. Toiletries are worse than motel grade. Clearly using toiletries found in other 2* motels. Grout in bathroom is dirty Face towels not really clean Fruit provided in room is not ripe You have to make your own coffee with provided coffee pods - I gather this is a pandemic and precaution The "service"? Uhhhh.... No one around when I arrived at 315. Or that whole day. Owner lives in Toronto. Innkeeper is nice enough though. Sheets - not crisp cotton, did not feel or look like they were washed. Maybe flannel cotton? Ick. Just stay somewhere else and manage your expectations The exorbitant price here and glowing reviews on Expedia make it seem like this is worth $800 for two nights. It is worth about $65 a night at best. Avoid.

I stayed in the Atalya room. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. The bed and sheets were soft. I found the pillow to be a little too thick for my liking, but you can always ask Nick and Neda if you need anything different. The bathroom was huge and bright. The room has a flat screen TV, but I didn't use it. The window has a view of the garden, but it also has a view of Highway 6. At night, the room sometimes fills with light from cars turning off the highway. There is wifi available, but it's quite slow. There is a fairly large common living room where guests can use to get to know each other. You can often find Nick and Neda here in the evenings. They're very sociable and young at heart. It was fun getting to know them and their background. The foyer has a refrigerator where you can store your food items. There is also a water cooler and a coffee machine available for use. Neda uses Pinterest for inspiration for her breakfasts. She prepares the food the night before and cooks it in the morning. The breakfasts are IG-ready and are tasty and filling. Nick and Neda will talk to you while you're having breakfast and provide recommendations for what to do in the area. Neda also does photography, so you can look at her photos for inspiration. Nick and Neda do their best to keep everyone safe with masks and hand sanitizer available in the foyer. They maintain their physical distance. Overall, I had a great time at Orange Bicycle B&B. I'm looking forward to coming back.

They were very helpful offering suggestions for daily activities and even picked us up after a 4hr hike from Little Cove Rd to the Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park. The bedroom and private bathroom are recently renovated. The shared living space is very comfortable and excellent for reading. If you're still on the fence. The morning coffee made with imported Italian beans and the bakery next door serving sandwiches and fresh baked goods should put it over the top.

Someone recommended a restaurant in this town for fish and chips, but it was already closed for the season so we stumbled upon this place across the street. It's a very laid back family style restaurant (and lodging) and it was cute to see the waitress addressing us as "yous" i.e. the plural of "you". I knew at that point that this place would serve good food. Their menu is quite simple - fried this and fried that - and I asked if they could make fish sans the mandatory thick greasy batter. Ofcourse, said the waitress, and she suggested a fish burger which would have fresh white fish caught earlier that day. Let's do that, we said, and sure enough the food was one the tastiest I fish and chips experience I had.

Quite a few bottled beers available, house red & white wine, and cocktails. There isn't much open in Killarney after tourist season ends, so we had dinner at the Pines Inn two nights in a row. The weather was great, so we spent the first night on the almost-full patio. The service was a bit slow, but apparently they were short staffed, and there wasn't any rush. We had deep fried mushroom caps for an appetizer (most apps were some variety of deep fried). It was a good-sized serving, and cooked well. My partner had a chicken ceasar wrap, and I had the philly cheesesteak on a flatbread. Both were quite good, and the server didn't try and push fries on us. We weren't planning on coming back the second night, but our first choice closed early. We arrived a bit later and decided to dine inside. The decor is very casual, with some local art, and dartboards on the walls. Having seen the pizza the night before, I had to order it, and I was not disappointed. The "Canadian" we ordered was packed with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, with plenty of cheese and sauce. The crust could use some improvement, it was likely pre-made from frozen. Still, the rest more than made up for it. We had a ceasar salad as an appetizer, and it was more than enough for two people, well-dressed, with lots of bacon. I'll definitely return next time I visit Killarney.

What a lovely place to stay!…read more My family of five (all adults) stayed at their Crow's Nest rooms on a summer weekend. Our hosts Miriam and John were lovely and gracious, and the space was perfect for our needs. I had a hard time looking up places to stay in the area as I was in Michigan and it just seemed there was very little useful or well-organized information about housing or rentals online. I'm so glad I found this place! They were always prompt with answering emails and accommodating concerns and turned out to be an ideal place to stay. The home is very nice and well maintained. Very large! There must be 7 rooms I think, although not all for guests. It apparently used to be a county doctor's home in the past. There is a large common area on the main floor with a fireplace, but we didn't use it as our rooms had a great living area enclosed. The Crow's Nest room area at the top of the BnB is great for families or small groups as it has two adjoining rooms and a large living area and a tv and small balcony and well-equipped kitchen, and is great to just "hang out" and play games, catch up etc. The grounds here are beautiful! We played frisbee in the yard, lay in the hammock, chatted on the lovely deck. The lawn is very well maintained! There is a firepit, veggie patch. I haven't even had the breakfast yet (that's tomorrow morning) but the hosts were very accommodating with our requests for a diabetic meal for my mom. There is a restaurant down the street (Sulky Sam's) which came recommended from the hosts, which we enjoyed as well :) Nearby there are all the great things the Bruce trail and recreation area have to offer. Port Elgin is great for relaxed cookouts with the family, Sauble beach is right there, and then a scenic drive from Wiarton to Tobermory is not to be missed (Flower Pot Island, Chantry Island, etc). STAY HERE! We've stayed at BnB's in Mackinaw, Michigan and in Stratford, Ontario among other places - this is our favorite so far!

My room was on the main floor at the front. Its room was large with a comfortable bed, an ensuite and furnishing to match the time era. The grounds are well kept with gardens,a fire pit and a place to just relax. I enjoyed the hammock, the covered glider and chairs on the spacious deck out back. Miriam's breakfast was excellent what a cook. I'd recommend the restaurant down the street (Sulky Sam's) or the BBQ chicken dinner at the Legion. (a short walk away) A not to be missed spot is nearby Paisley. Sandra who provided my transportation to and from the bus station, shared the history of the area on the drive. I did a bike tour that was personalized to my needs and seen the Mills. The next day Miriam showed me the route to bike to Arron Lake, a scenic ride and relaxing spot. An excellent trip, all very affordable,no car or bicycle needed. Back to city life now.

We booked the two largest rooms in the house, the Lighthouse and Woodland. The total was $265.55 for the Lighthouse ($165 + $70 for the additional 2 kids + tax) nightly. Our room was ready on schedule for the 4pm check-in. It was nicely decorated with a nautical theme in a lovely blue colour motif. It had a double bed and 2 twin beds as well as a couch, and full bathroom. Doug and Tracy are lovely hosts, warm and friendly. The breakfast food was delicious and the dishes were beautifully presented as you can see from the photos. Forgot to take pictures of the second breakfast because we were too busy eating!! It was so convenient having water activities available right in the backyard. There are canoes, kayaks, and paddle-boards, so plenty to choose from for everyone. Just sign a waiver and off you go. There are some life jackets available but if you have your own, bring them along. There is also a campfire for guests to use but unfortunately we were rained out so wasn't able to enjoy it. The rain did not dampen our spirits though and we were able to go on a walk to Sauble Falls which is 5 minutes from the B & B. Though Sauble Falls is no Niagara, it is still quite pretty with a waterfall that reminds you of steps. Suable beach is quite a long stretch of sand. It was much too cold and windy to go into the water because of the weirdly rainy chilly weather but the kids had fun running around the shore and because of the crappy weather, the beach was quite empty. For other meals we ate at Sola's Grill. Their stone oven pizza is quite good. We also tried Channing Restaurant which had Chinese/Canadian dishes. There aren't a whole lot of options in terms of restaurants in Sauble but if you plan ahead, you can arrange to have dinner at the B&B for an additional fee. Some of the other guests we met during our stay have been staying at this B&B for years and have had Doug prepare their dinners. They only had high praises for the meals they've had in the past. We enjoyed leisurely evenings in the common area where guests can lounge on the couch and and make use of the games and books they had on hand. It was a nice mini vacation from the city. The location is convenient as we were able to check out many small towns (eg. Southhampton, Weirton, Goderich, etc.) just a short drive away. Overall, a great trip despite the unseasonably cold weather!
