Beautiful scents enveloped me as I entered the store. Their shelves are filled with their own brand of essential oils, bath and shower soaps, shaving products, and more. According to Pure Botanicals, their purpose is to make health care easily accessible, affordable, and supportive. With this in mind, the staff is extremely helpful in suggesting natural methods to enhance one's health and wellbeing. I had a great experience at the store. Their line of men's products smells great, as it is not too fragrant. I purchased a face moisturizer to try, containing comfrey and marshmallow herbs, rosehip and Vitamin E Oil. It's pricey--around $40. Not only do they have many products (and an online store!), but also their in-store clinic offers many alternative treatments, including hypnotherapy, acupuncture, and massages. A seasoned professional in the field conducts each treatment.

I was referred here by a friend who got a massage and said that they were good. So being that my neck is causing me all kinds of grief I thought I'd check them out. I'm glad I did. I've been going here for about 2 months now and Glendon has worked wonders on my neck and shoulders. I may have even fallen asleep during one of his sessions, ops! My bad. He's lovely and his knows his stuff. All the appointments happen under the shop where there's a lovely couched seating area with tea and coffee available while you wait for your appointment and you can watch the world go by through the double glass doors as you wait listening to relaxing background music. Upstairs they stock a whole range of amazing things, from candles, to burn sticks to oils and tea. They actually stock from one of my favourite tea places in here which has delighted me no end. So if you're walking past and have never gone in, go in and have a wonder.

Bulk billing is only available for seniors or on an as-Doctor-sees-fit basis, my only problem with the place. Fresh Therapeutics Chemist is conveniently located next door so you can get your prescriptions filled straight after your appointment. So if you are sick, need some care and live in the area, Broadway General Practice is a good place to go.

This practice is quite large, which has its pros and cons. You can book appointments online quite easily, and have an overview of which doctors are available when, and what ailments they specialize in. Because of how big this place is, they can provide at least an initial consultation for most health issues, and then refer you on to specialists as needed. The front desk staff have a lot to do, and as a result may not always come off as being very friendly or polished, but I got the feeling that they would be able to answer any questions I might have had, and I saw them making a real effort to answer the phones. I interacted with the front desk to pay a $70 consultation fee for each of my appointments (I'm not covered by Medicare). As with any doctor's office, I always aim to arrive early in case there are forms to fill out, and am then prepared to wait because other people's appointments always run over--and when it's my turn to see the doctor, I want their full attention, rather than feeling they are rushing to get to the next patient. In my two appointments here, one (scheduled for midday) started twenty minutes late, while the other (scheduled for 9:10 started early). As a relatively young person, I'm very conscious of whether or not I'm being listened to, and I really appreciated that both doctors I've seen here were genuinely interested in my health problems and suggested multiple ways of addressing them. As a result, I actually have confidence that the doctors here know what they are doing--in the past, I've met with doctors who prescribed antibiotics without running any tests, and written leave of absence notes for work after barely examining me. It's also helpful that there is a pharmacy on site, as well as physio and psychology services. This is definitely a buzzing "health hub" as a result, and attracts a broad audience, but that seems to be a testament to the quality and convenience of this service. I don't necessarily look forward to doctor's appointments, but now that I've found Broadway General Medical, at least I don't have to dread them.

I have attended the donation classes both Wednesday and Thursday (12:30pm, 1 hour) for the last four months and think it's great. It is usually a Hatha yoga class that focuses on core strength, something we all need, but sometimes you get a sub who will do a lot of moon salutations or chest openers, all good. Be sure to enter the building on the St John's Road side through a small door and up the staircase. It's easy to miss.

You can save money from buying 10 classes at a time but even then it is $22 a class and a student doesn't just have a spare $220 in the kitty!
