Although this was not our first home, it certainly felt like a first-time buying experience as many of the rules that applied in 2014 no longer applied to the housing market of 2024. Given all that, Kerry was the perfect individual to help us navigate this brave new world. Let me tell you why. First off, and possibly most importantly, Kerry has a great vibe. In January of 2024, my family and I began what turned out to be an extended search for our next home. In total, it took about four and a half months for us to find "the one." During that period we naturally spent a good deal of time with Kerry. In short, she is a delight to be around: easy-going, funny, and knowledgable. Kerry is also exceedingly responsive. During our long-haul search, I do not think we ever waited more than 20 minutes for Kerry to return a text message or call. This was crucial because we were searching from afar. At that time, my family and I resided in Saint Albans and would drive down to SE Vermont on the weekends to look at homes. Kerry always scheduled viewings that were very convenient for us and would offer to conduct virtual walkthroughs when possible. I know she was working with many clients at that time, but we always felt like we were the top priority. Kerry is knowledgeable. From helping us to understand the dynamics of the local markets that we were looking in, to suggesting ways for us to remain competitive in the face of all-cash offers, Kerry has a wealth of knowledge at her disposal. In short, Kerry is an awesome individual who demonstrated tremendous effort and ability in helping us find our little piece of paradise. This was an especially…read morechallenging time to buy a house, because Covid lockdowns were starting and nobody was entirely sure how things would work. We're very happy we found Steve to represent our interests. As inexperienced buyers we were unsure of a lot - internet research helps, but it leaves a lot of gaps. How exactly does one negotiate on a purchase this large? What are the local peculiarities & customs of the area? What are the red flags one should look for when visually inspecting a house? How does one come up with a fair price? And so on. While navigating these particulars, he was very clear, thoughtful and careful regarding the legalities of the information he could divulge. Steve educated us on the house buying process. He also drew up a contract that included Covid-related language which protected our interests. At no point did we ever get the feeling that Steve was doing anything but vigorously advocating for our interests. DISASTER! $41,000 in damage / down payment to these…read moreunprofessional people. 8 months since they "started" and my roof still has water pouring in. - Found out Dan Systo / Walker Roofing let their contractor's license lapse as of 2019. They presented me with paperwork for the contract with a company name on it that went out of business years ago. -I wish I had caught their deceptive practices before this happened but the damage literally happened in a matter a few hours - total chaos. -Walker Roofing / Dan Systo BADLY damaged my house including neglecting to use tarps and they did not remove the gutters prior to ordering the crew up on the roof to scrape the old roof shingles off. This caused the gutters to rip off the house, scratch and gouge cedar siding and windows. Including a window hit so hard by their crew that it was wrenched directly out from the wall with a broken frame. Dan never came to see the damage and instead defended his crew. ----Dangerous. Used the wrong ice and rain shield. Left sharp pieces of metal all over the yard in addition to smashed gutters. Attached a few pieces of steel slats to the roof that blew down over the winter literally sticking in the deck and causing more damage and danger. Fired them. --Went all winter with water pouring into my house. I have photos and estimates to repair what Dan Systo / Walker Roofing did to my house. Notice - all but one of the previous reviews for these people are from years ago. Don't touch these people with a ten foot pole
