    Best place to stay in Destin. The gated building is extremely well kept. Condo has a exercise/weight room, pool, hot tub, sauna, tennis courts, shuffle board courts, bbq area pool and beach side bathrooms, covered parking, private beach, etc. Holiday Isle is a great place to walk, jog or bike ride as it's off the main Highway 98. Centrally located. 5 mins to grocery, etc. 5 mins to the Emerald Grand and fishing docks. 10 mins to the Mid Bay Bridge and Commons Shopping Mall.

    We booked this place through Holiday Isle, and it was perfect. The condo was clean and spacious. We stayed in 503, and had the perfect Gulf view. We look forward to staying here in the future.

We had an excellent stay with minimal issues at the "high tide" house on Cobia. The house had a beautiful exterior and the inside was decorated simply with natural/ sutras colors - not too busy. The homes was spacious enough for our big family- 7 B/7b. Living room furniture was cozy and comfy. Liked the pillows. Kitchen was stocked with enough cookware, flatware and dishes. Two kinds of coffee pots, mixers, toaster, double oven, microwave and lots of cabinet space. [BRING TRASH BAGS, PAPER TOWELS AND DISH SOAP] Swimming pool was warm AMC there were lots of chairs, both lounge and regular in addition to a large round patio table with 6 chairs. Beds/pillows were cozy and the bedding was pretty nice. Laundry room was large and washer/dryer worked perfectly. (PACK DETERGENT) Bathrooms were spacious and all rooms had their own except two on se one floor that shared a jack n Jill. Water got HOT too. Lots of (mediocre)towels in each, including black makeup,towels - nice touch! [BRING TOILET PAPER CUZ THEIRS WASN'T SOFT] We had about 6 cars and there was plenty of space in the driveway. signs posted stating don't park on the grass (we really didn't need too) Location was perfect.close enough to walk and a very short drive. Close to shopping, restaurants and stores. Bike riding/ jogging path not far. Thermostats worked perfectly on all floors. There were a few things that were either faulty or that were concerning: 1) the stair boards were chipped and breaking apart. 2) laminate floors felt a bit uneven in certain areas- better get that checked out 3) living room rug fibers get all over your clothes- don't sit on it. 4) was there dog up in there cuz the couch had what seemed to be dog hair on it. 5) pool was heated but should've been Kicked up about 5 more degrees considering how cool it was at night. 6) downstairs toilet in bedroom made continuous post flush noise in the tank. Had to adjust flusher every time to quiet it down In spite of these issues, we still give it a 5 because we really felt at home during our stay. If you're in the area and need a large space, book it...just not when we need to book it,

The house was dirty and not well stocked especially for the $15K price tag for the week. The towels were worse than dish rags and very few of them. They must have gone WAY out of their way to find and purchase pillows as lumpy as the ones they provided. We never once heard from a human being and when I tried to find a housekeeper I was told it would be almost $800 for a days cleaning. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company or any of the houses they list. HUGE Disappointment

I am writing to inform you of a completely terrible experience my family had with Portoro rentals this week. We had booked a property in Grayton Beach FL through VRBO for the dates of Jun 28 - July 5, 2026. (Reservation HA-32ZPhd) We had paid a year and an half ago and confirmed this reservation as recently as February 15 of this year. Then suddenly this week, my family began receiving threatening and extorting emails and phone calls with intimidating deadlines meant to evoke fear and panic because Portoro apparently messed up and charged us the wrong rate. How is this our problem? And why would we need to cancel due to their error? In all my years working in corporate business and customer service, any time you or your company makes a mistake, you own it and learn from it. You DON'T punish your customers! But that is exactly the route they took! Not to mention all the different LIES they blatantly fed us along the way-- such as the house was double-booked, or another property management company bought them out, or the owner's needed that week for themselves -- all to learn it's all LIES and really they just wanted MORE MONEY for themselves because they posted the wrong rate! So they forced us out just to repost the same dates at double the price. In many emails and phone calls from my family begging them to do something to make this right, they refused, and continued with the path of threats and extortion. We ended up cancelling because they did this to us and now 23 people of my family from Texas, Ohio, South Carolina and Canada will not have our bi-annual family trip that we look forward to and plan 2 years in advance! This company and the agent named Amber Raycraft need to be held accountable for getting away with this!

    Our family reunion stay with a Portoro Homes-managed property was one of the most disappointing…read morerental experiences we've ever had. On the first morning of our trip, we woke up to a major plumbing failure: toilets and showers on the upper floors stopped draining and an entire level of the house flooded with what smelled to be waste water. It was an obvious health and safety hazard and made the home completely uninhabitable. We immediately notified management and later learned from the maintenance team that this was not a new issue, indicating the house should never have been rented in that condition. The situation consumed almost an entire day of our short vacation as we dealt with the flooding, waited for instructions, and then packed and moved our entire group, including groceries and supplies, to a different home. Although we appreciated being relocated on short notice, the replacement property was not equivalent to what we had reserved. It had smaller bedrooms, one fewer bedroom, and a much smaller outdoor area compared to the large deck and pool space we had specifically booked the original home for. Unfortunately, the second property also had its own plumbing issues, including sewage odor and water pooling after using the downstairs kitchenette. Given the severity of the sanitation and safety issues, and the substantial disruption to our stay, we believed a full refund would have been an appropriate and responsible resolution. Instead, Portoro initially offered only the difference in price between the two homes, since the replacement property was of lower value than the one we had originally booked. I explained that if we had wanted a smaller, less expensive home, we would have chosen one from the start and that simply adjusting for the price difference did nothing to address the severe disruption, safety concerns, and loss of time we experienced. They reluctantly added 3 additional small incremental amounts as I continued to convey the severity of the situation. After more than 2 weeks of back-and-forth, their "final" additional offers totaled $1600 for a stay that cost us over $6400. This in no way reflects the seriousness of what we experienced or the downgrade in accommodations. To further highlight the lack of competence in Portoro homes, they were unable to process the full refund amount they offered by card and are now mailing a check for the last $22.44 of the $1600. We tried to resolve this privately and professionally and held off on leaving any public comments while discussions were ongoing. Unfortunately, the lack of meaningful accountability or fair compensation leaves us unable to recommend booking a Portoro Homes managed property. At a minimum, guests should be aware that significant maintenance issues may exist and that resolution, if something goes wrong, may be slow, insufficient, and not reflective of the conditions experienced.

Over the past two years, even through the pandemic - they have been able to provide our guests with more dynamic rental opportunities to suit their needs. Whether that be longer term rentals in winter months, or weekend only vs weekly rates, etc. - they have maximized my return on investment while at the same time providing more flexibility to our guests. My house is booked almost every single day of the week through all seasons. I literally cannot say enough about Justin and the team at ECVR - they are simply the best.

Save the headache…read more This guy is very unprofessional I'm writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding the cancellation of my Destin vacation rental reservation through Airbnb, which occurred only about a month before our scheduled trip. I had booked two rooms for a group trip involving multiple adults and children, and this last-minute cancellation has created a major inconvenience for everyone involved. As most people know, finding accommodations in Destin this close to summer travel dates is extremely difficult and significantly more expensive. We are now being forced to scramble to find another place that can accommodate our entire group, all because of a cancellation that could have been handled much more professionally. What made the situation even worse was the response I received when I called to ask about the cancellation. Instead of showing understanding or professionalism, Brad laughed and made comments implying that the rate I booked was "too cheap" and that there was "no way" the property was worth that amount. I booked the property directly through Airbnb at the listed rate, so any pricing issue should have been addressed internally -- not taken out on paying customers after reservations were already confirmed. After looking through the Google reviews for Emerald Coast Rental Vacation Homes, I noticed multiple other customers describing very similar experiences involving sudden cancellations and poor communication. That raises serious concerns about how business is being conducted. I also want to address something in advance: I've seen responses to negative reviews where claims are made that the reviewer "never booked" with the company. That is absolutely not the case here. I did book these properties through Airbnb, and I have screenshots, confirmations, and documentation to fully support everything stated in this review. This experience has been extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Canceling on families and groups shortly before their vacations puts people in difficult financial and logistical situations, especially when prices increase dramatically afterward. I hope future customers are made aware of these recurring issues before trusting this company with important travel plans.

Both rentals also had pool access, the home a private, heated pool that we greatly enjoyed. In addition to the properties though, the staff was excellent! We had trouble finding the first location because our gps was down and customer service guided us over the phone to the property. We also had a complementary fresh sweet bread and bottled waters left for us during our second stay. I highly recommend a stay with Five Star Beach Properties - they make the booking process (over the phone or via their user friendly website) easy, the properties are one of a kind with state of the art amenities and great views, and the customer service is fantastic.

We booked our rentals in Feb and got an email at the end of April that they canceled our reservations. If we wanted something else we would have to pay 6000.00 more. I explained this trip was for our dad's 80th bday and flights have already been purchased and they did not care. We are stuck with no vacation and 20+ people who have paid for flights and when I asked to speak to a manager and a copy of my agreement I heard nothing. Please do not rent from this property. I guess this company really is all about ruining your vacation plans.
