I struggled to…read morefind an artist who was willing to take it on and finish it, and over time it became something I wasn't proud of anymore. I eventually decided a cover up was the best option. The first artist I trusted with it even started the cover up, but it quickly became clear she was in over her head and didn't have the experience needed for a project like this. After four last minute cancellations on a session I had already prepaid for, I finally decided to cut my losses. Looking back, I honestly feel blessed that she canceled so many times. At the time it was incredibly frustrating, but if she had continued working on it, I truly believe I would have ended up with an even bigger mess to fix. That decision led me to an incredible artist and owner of Skin It Tattoo, Jack, who had the experience, talent, and confidence to transform something I had grown to hate into something I genuinely love. He absolutely KILLED it. This is only the beginning. I can't wait to go back so he can tie the flowers into the owl and finish the rest of the piece. If you're looking for amazing tattoo work, I can't recommend Skin It Tattoo in Ogden enough. Sometimes the biggest disappointments end up leading you exactly where you're supposed to be.

The guy working the phones and setting up appointments, (I think his name is Church) was real laid back and cool. I showed him what I had in mind and he recommended Scott Richardson; then he explained that they are appointment only and are usually pretty booked up. I was a little bummed because I was leaving Utah in the next week to head home to Chicago. He checked with Scott and luckily he could squeeze me in the following day. I paid my deposit and headed out. When I came back the next day, Scott was there and I showed him what I was thinking about and he started working on a sketch. I filled out my paperwork and chatted with another customer for a while. When Scott came back with his sketch, it was spot on to what was in my mind. We headed to his cubicle and started. Again I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect, but he explained what he was going to do and that settled my nerves down. Then with a whirr, the gun and needles started their duty. It was far less painful than everyone says, or maybe it is just that I work in a kitchen and cut or burn myself on a daily basis. As he worked, Scott and I BS'd about this and that and I think we were about 15 min away from solving all the world's problems by the time he was done, (just over an hour). I had been sneaking peeks throughout the process, but the finished piece blew me away, it was exactly the image I had in my ind when I entered the shop the previous day! **** Bottom line is; if you are looking to get some ink, be it your first or 99th piece, you would not be disappointed with this shop. Good price for excellent work, cool employees and a laid back atmosphere, no judging here.

Cover up with Victoria Wood…read more We love her private studio. Work is good when it is finished... however, we went in to get my husband's tattoo covered. Victoria said she could do the coverup. We started these sessions in August 2023. It is now December 2024 and he just had his last session yesterday. She charges $500 per half day and $800 per full day, and works slow. The slowness does allow for good detailing, but does make it more expensive depending on how big the piece is. She had to do quite a few touch up sessions for free (which was later told to us was a favor to us, even though most studios do touch ups for free...). We found out in my husbands second to last session that the tattoo was never going to fully cover the original tattoo. When we brought up that it was frustrating, with both time and results, Victoria said she would do one last touch up before removing us as clients. At that last session, she was unprofessional. She was spilling ink onto my husband's arm and tattooed black onto a previously not black spot (both of which never happened in his many sessions before). She also was very offended and short because we expressed our concerns, but if you own a business, communication is so so important. At the end of the session, she wished my husband a good life and sent him out the door. At the end of the day, the tattoo she designed was great. But her unprofessionalism when expressing concerns makes me want to not recommend her to other clients.
