I did some research on Rowan and I liked what I saw. I like that the piercers are nurses and I also like that you have the choice of getting your piercing with a device or with a needle. Personally, I am a pro needle person so this was the perfect place to bring my son. Rowan is near the Pandora store at The Summit. I was able to make an appointment online and when we arrived to Rowan, we were seen pretty quickly. There were quite a few walk-ins after us so I do suggest making an appointment. The nurse that pierced my son did a phenomenal job of explaining everything that she was doing and talking him through it so he wouldn't be nervous. Everything was sterile and so clean. This is exactly the type of experience that I would want for my child getting his ear pierced. The options they had for jewelry were quality, which is important with new piercings. Some might feel like the pricing is kind of high if you're comparing it to places like Claire's or Walmart. I think the pricing is on par with what you're getting. I'm actually considering coming back here for myself to get a couple new helix piercings. If your child want an ear piercing or even if you want one, I you should check out Rowan.

Me and the other person sat there for at least an hour before he went back. The artist could have been working on a piece back there, I don't know. By that time, the waiting area was pretty much full. The artist came up front a couple of times and asked everyone again what they were getting, when everyone had told the girl at the front desk already, so that was confusing and took up a lot of time. Then, after I had been there for about 2 hours, another artist came in. Instead of starting to help with the people who had been there for hours, he started on the people that came in once he got there. Meaning, I had been there for several hours and hadn't gone back and a guy had been there for 10 minutes and went back and was in and out. One girl came in wanting a piercing and she immediately went back and got it done, that was while the waiting area was full of people who had been there for hours. Finally when I was called back 3 hours later, the artist was in absolutely no hurry to actually start tattooing me. He went in and chatted with the other artist and had me sit when the stencil ink on for 15+ minutes to let it dry. As someone who has several tattoos, I would think this tiny tattoo could have taken 10, 15 minutes tops for me to go back there and then be done. I was there for a total of 4 hours. He also sent me home with no bandage or any after care instructions, which I thought was unusual. I literally walked out of there with blood dripping down my arm. Overall, It was just very unorganized and I'm pretty sure most of the people who were after me ended up leaving due to it taking so long. I know I shouldn't expect much from a $13 tattoo, but if they're going to run a special like that, I would think they would be prepared with more than one artist. My cousin and I went for her to get her first tattoo and I did not get one here but my cousin did…read more I have a medical alert service dog and for the first 10 minutes we were there no one said anything. As we sit in the waiting room the receptionist comes out and tells me to take my dog outside (my service dog was not vested but per ADA service dogs don't need to have to be vested) I the kindly informed her my dog is a service dog. My dog was laying at my feet and doing nothing wrong. The receptionist then goes to the back and I can hear her and another employee talking about why isn't my dog vested. A bit later my cousin goes back and I go with her and the artist tells me I can go but the dog can't. I ask why and he tells me it's a sterile environment, I went back into the waiting room because I didn't want to argue and make a big deal for the sake of my cousin. But per ADA the only places in America that can say that are certain parts of hospitals like burn units or surgical rooms. Also a tattoo room is not at a sterile environment. It is a clean environment but not sterile they is a big difference. I have heard great things about revolution ink and they did a great job on my cousin's tattoo but due to the disability discrimination i personally would not recommend.
