It's hard to find a decent handyman service these days.. communication is not always amazing, not…read moreto mention how expensive their quotes tend to be! City Handyman provided a great experience. Their website was very informative (and quite well designed I might add ), email communications with Derek were very prompt and helpful, and the handymen were available for the express back yard cleaning I needed. After doing a bit more research and gathering a few quotes from different companies, city handyman offered the most reasonable quote BY FAR! Now to the actual work done.. I came home to a perfectly cleaned back yard. No rubbish or leaves left behind and the concrete was spotless! And we got an honest quote for another job we need to be done! Awesome job, highly recommended!

We recently approached western thermal Solutions for a quote…read morefor a Daikin whole house split-multi air conditioning system. The reception person was very helpful and knowledgeable. They arranged a quote quickly from the house plans that i provided to them and the description of our needs. The guy doing the quote was able to ask a few questions over the phone and then provide a quote. If we liked the quote then he said he would come out to check unit placements etc and finalise the quote. He was very knowledgeable and able to convey how he arrived at the sizing suggested. We were very happy with their service and about to get them to do the work when they told us that they only use Nano Electrical for the electrical work and had no other electrical contractors to use. As we had previously had a negative experience with Nano we had to disappointedly decline the quote. Hopefully western thermal with make arrangements with other electrical contractors in the future to avoid situations such as this.

After all this they provided me with the WRONG color (wasn't out by a huge amount was still grey, but the wrong grey) after all this I tried to come to a compromise with them as obviously I wished to have the shutters either re done in the right color to match everything else or some sort of discount for the much around, they offered a few hundred dollars off a $17,000 job. When I said that wasn't acceptable I wanted them to do something better they assumed I was trying to dodge the bill, were extremely rude and unprofessional, emailed me back and said they are removing the good will discount of a few hundred and if I didn't pay in 24 hours they would add a near $1800 late fee, I responded to them and said that wasn't acceptable I'm waiting for the general manager to come up with a fair middle ground instead I got send a new invoice with the $1800 fee added and the next morning was forwarded to E Collect a debt collection agency they use. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from what looks to be a good company. I will be pursuing this further, but in my honest opinion I would steer clear of these people. I have had shutters done on my two other houses and never had any issues like this before. I have also worked in the sales and building industry for well over a decade and have never seen a company treat its customers like this. They took $5400 deposit so they have some of the money and they will not come to a fair arrangement. To put it into perspective from memory I was only asking for approx another $1000 off the price of the total job to make it fair and Instead this is how I get treated. Ultimate shutter you are the ultimate customer service failures.

All other handymen that I contacted asked that I first email them the list together with some photos and then either ignored me completely or text me a quote without even coming out to properly discuss the job. Elias was the only one that came out and spent time with us discussing the work and then provided me with a very reasonable quote on the spot. Elias locked in a time with me and turned up on time each day to start work, which for most trades people these days is quite unusual. The quality of the work was fantastic, and Elias continued to engage with me on how I wanted the work done through out the process. I couldn't recommend him any higher. Old school service from a young highly trained person. Was great to see the same person taking your initial call also doing the quote and the work. Trent (Parkdale)
