Over the years, Ingredients has managed to go from a being a very average deli to one that boasts a number of quality food products. For a suburban deli, it is pretty impressive.
I remember when Ingredients first opened, it was tiny offered a bunch of food that they sellers were unaware of what they were (my father and I were pretty surprised when the woman at the counter asked us what the product we were actually buying was). There was a very limited amount of pre-cooked dishes and dips on offer. Things have now changed as the place now sells a wide variety of quiches, pies, dips, cakes and salads which are all made in house. I am particularly fond of the dips they make here, the olive tapenade is absolutely divine.
One thing I will warn you about though is the cheese, they do not know how to look after it and I do not think anyone has told them. Their fridges are either not cold enough or they just keep them for too long because all of their cheeses taste too mature. Even cheese that is suppose to be mature like the Roquefort Pappilion blue cheese will be just too mature so you can imagine what a delicate cheese like the Dafinois brie would be like. After a few bad experiences, I choose to not buy cheese from here.
Smelly cheese aside, this is a pretty good suburban deli. I go there for their dips and salads. read more
