I really don't know what to say about this place. I can only recall the short and not-so-sweet conversation with the heavily powdered face lady:
Me: Hey, I'm looking to buy a little gift for my lady friend's birthday coming up.
Staff Member: Any idea of what you might get her?
Me: Um...I don't really know.....she told me to go to Inglot for her make-up needs.....so was thinking you could help me out?
Staff Member: Well does she like lipstick?
Me: Yeah, she wears lipstick for sure...
Staff Member: What's your price range?
Me: Price is not an issue, you know.....just looking for something expensive to spoil her on her birthday, that's coming up soon?
Staff Member: Well, you can just get her a gift card, and she can come in herself?
Me: Oh, I could do that....but I really wanted to show her that I made the effort in getting her an actual gift?
Staff Member: Well, I still think you should giver her a gift card instead.
(We both stare at each other in silence for a few awkward seconds...)
Me: Ok... well....can I book an appointment for her, instead of a gift card?
Staff Member: Yeah, but it depends on how much you want to spend on her.
Me: Er... the price is not an issue, I "can afford" it, just tell me what kinda cool stuff you can you do for her?
Staff Member: Umm...no....I still think you need to give her a gift card instead.
She then...turned her back on me and walked away from me. Yes, she did that. So I quickly raised my voice a little bit in retaliation, "Well, do you have a business card at least, so I know what number to book an appointment? And oh yea, are you really a trained make-up artist?" And after handing me her card and saying yes, I walked away laughing to myself. Hands down, the worst customer service ever received. An Aussie male in a make-up store. Go figure how that felt like! :) LOL read more
