Such a cute cafe! Delicious food and coffee with an adorably decorated interior…read more My family and I visited Issa Vibe on the way through to Union Pier. When entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted by staff and were advised to grab a menu from the nearby wall. Orders are placed at the counter, food and coffee. They also provide an estimate on wait-time for coffee and food based on level of orders currently placed. We were given a buzzer and advised that our name would be called for both coffee and food. The bourbon vanilla Madagascar latte was delicious, I loved that the coffee flavor was not overpowered by homemade coffee syrup. The paninis were delicious and very filling! They come with a side salad or kettle chips.

I ordered the pesto egg panini alongside a pistachio iced latte. The panini was the standout--fresh bread, flavorful pesto, ripe tomatoes, and a well-balanced combination of flavors. The pistachio latte, however, could use a little refinement. I'd love to see pistachio cream incorporated instead of a liquid syrup, which could give the drink more body, richness, and a more pronounced pistachio flavor. Overall, a great café experience with plenty of personality and a menu worth exploring.

Always a very busy popular place…read more I had a bagel breakfast sandwich here and enjoyed it. My friends had a honey basil drink - it was very tasty and refreshing. It tasted fresh vs like syrup. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich with potato salad on the side. I didn't care for the potato salad. The turkey quality was good! Note they offer half sandwiches.

I really enjoyed my lox bagel and thought it was one of the best I've had!! The flavors were nicely balanced with the onion, capers, cream cheese and lox. I was able to eat it easily and get a little piece of everything in each bite. The bagels seem smaller than average, but who needs giant bagels anyway? I found these to be reasonably sized. Big overstuffed bagels that fall apart while you eat them - lox sliding all over the place - are really annoying. These were satisfying without making you feel gross after. The coffee selection exceeded our expectations. We shared a chemex for 2. They had a few single origin coffees to choose from and we had their pink bourbon Columbian. We enjoyed our coffee and bagels outside in their seating area and this was once of my favorite parts of our trip! We didn't have to wait too long, but as we were finishing, a long line was forming down the block. Consider getting there a little early!

They can get really packed during lunch/dinner so I suggest making a reservation and planning ahead. The chocolate martini was tasty and the cacio e pepe and roma pasta was delicious! Very fresh and simple flavors. Pastas come with a choice of soup or salad. The tiramisu was to die for! Good prices for the quality of the food and the ambience. We will definitely be back!

Suggested the basil lemon chicken for two -claimed they had to bring back on menu by popular demand. Unfortunately, chicken was unpalatable. Waitress asked if we wanted it boxed we said "no we did not care for it." She then commented "some people in the past didn't care for it either. It has a certain flavor." Being a store owner of 12 retail chicago locations, I did not feel it was handled properly. I always appreciates customer calling me direct with an issue. The dessert brownie tasted more like a dried piece of chocolate cake, which we did not eat after 1bite. I called the next day to share with the manager. The hostess from the night before , actually remembered us, said the manager would get back to us, she would relay our experience. Never heard back. It's going to be hard to recommend the restaurant to our Chicago relatives & friends who visit & stay in New Buffalo all year long.

You know, as much as I have been to Oink's in my lifetime, I cannot believe that I forgot to leave…read morea review for them YEARS ago! First let me start by saying that Oink's and I go way back. I believe that the first time I went there was in 1988 when I was 16 (my two older cousins were raised in Union Pier), and since I visit SW MI at least twice a year, I never leave without going to Oink's before coming home. As I always took my kids to Warren Dunes instead of Chicago beaches, my kids always got to enjoy Oink's before coming back home also! So this year was no different and my wife and I got to sit down and enjoy ice cream before coming back home. I have always loved the different ice cream flavors (especially strawberry cheesecake), and as I always do, I bought a few pig keychains and other things from the gift shop. I also have always loved the old-school vibe! So every time I am up that way, I'll be there!! One last thing: I got to meet Coach Vink back in the day because my older two cousins (The McSmith brothers, who both passed away unexpectedly in 2024 and 2025), played for him at New Buffalo High School. Coach was a good dude, and I was sorry to hear of his passing. So, see you next time I'm up there!

Another ice cream review from another favorite!…read more Oink's has been around for ages and is always a great place to stop in if you're in New Buffalo! There's a parking lot and other fun places in walking distance as well to check out. The decor in Oink's will never leave you bored. There is so much to look at! They have a number system so once you enter, be sure to grab a ticket with a number on it and it'll flash on the screen. There were a few groups who came in who were unaware of that and so the lines and ordering process was a tad chaotic. Eventually one of the staff mentioned something about grabbing a ticket and it was easily sorted. Everyone working was very friendly and patient which is a huge plus. I tried out one of their cherry and chocolate ice cream flavors. So tasty! I also love knowing you can get a half scoop as well although it was still so much ice cream. The perfect place for a sweet treat!

Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in and looked at the menu, the woman with purple hair at the counter greeted us with extremely unpleasant energy. She rushed us through our entire order, wasn't friendly or welcoming, and was extremely difficult to connect with. What stood out to me most was that after our interaction, I noticed her greeting other customers who didn't look like us with a noticeably warmer energy. We ordered two sandwiches, two drinks, and two pastries, spending almost $40, yet the experience lacked any real sense of kindness, consideration, or basic human decency. Because I was being rushed, I actually had to get back in line a second time to purchase something I had missed during our initial order. We were especially disappointed because this was supposed to be a nice experience while celebrating my friend's birthday. We were grateful to see vegan options on the menu, and the space itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, it felt like the energy and level of hospitality inside depended on the color of your skin. That experience left a lasting impression, and sadly, we won't be returning.

I said something like thanks for working today, those donuts like really nice, to three different people, one of them the owner with zero response. I expect it from the post office, but not when buying overpriced overhyped donuts. The chocolate croissant had almost no chocolate in it. The other donuts were ok, coffee cake bland, spent $100. Still tipped. The vibe of the place is angry artist. Won't be back.
