I had not been for an eye exam in 23 years, and I traveled to Jasper for an eye exam with Dr…read more Gordon because my husband, cared for by Dr. Gordon for more than 10 years, recommended I go for a routine checkup. I am so glad I went, and to Dr. Gordon in particular. His staff is very friendly and professional! As a "medical wimp," the staff was very patient with me and even showed me what would happen before they performed some of the procedures on me. Dr. Gordon had a wonderful and down-to-earth personality (not to mention a great source of humor!) that immediately put me at ease, made me feel like a genuinely valued person, and helped me understand with utmost clarity the findings of the exam. The waiting room was also comfortable and included a TV and several of the books Dr. Gordon has authored. There is also a laboratory with many styles of frames to choose from on-site. I would highly recommend Dr. Gordon to anyone, but especially to people like myself who get nervous during medical procedures and need a reassuring presence. I would (and plan to!) completely trust Dr. Gordon with the eye care needs of myself, my husband, and my children someday.

Dr. Brinegar and his staff were extremely friendly and thorough and I definitely didn't feel like they were rushing through patients but rather taking care to serve each one. Perhaps the main reason that I was so impressed with Dr. Brinegar is that he was able to give me answers for questions that no other optometrist had answered for me. I now know exactly why my eyes don't do well with contacts and why certain glasses seem to wear out faster for me. He is not only very knowledgeable, but also (unlike many other doctors) able and willing to impart that knowledge onto his patients.

Great service. Dr. Brinegar took the time to explain my glaucoma testing. It runs in my family.read more

Although I showed up a little late (boo traffic), I was checked in promptly and began the exam with nearly 0 wait time. I saw Dr. Gogel (spelling might be wrong) for the first time. I was anxious because I've been seeing Dr. Olund for a few years and was unsure what to expect. Dr. Gogel is a ROCKSTAR. She absolutely crushes it! She is super friendly, super kind, and explains everything. She took the time to review my medical history before my appointment and did not need me to explain a lifetime of vision problems. You can't go wrong here. The staff is amazing. They truly care about the experience their patients have and strive to achieve greatness in the service they provide. I cannot recommend Focus Eyecare Center enough. I shopped for optometrists for about 10 years before meeting Dr. Olund. I vividly remember my first appointment with her. When I moved out of Southern Indiana I was extremely concerned about my eye care. I truly believe no one is better so I make the commute (only from Louisville, but it's across state lines lol). If you are in the market for a new optometrist, these are your ladies. There is no one better.
