I did my first discovery flight in a Cessna 172 which made me a little nervous at first, but I reminded myself that people train in these planes all the time. I did a information session first before scheduling a discover flight which probably lead to a better experience. I thought the staff was professional and knowledgable. Which put my mind at ease knowing that the CFI's they hire are properly trained. The facilities are cleanly and organized that presents well the first time you step into the building. If they care a lot about the small things they will care about everything in-between. Meaning the bathrooms were well maintained, coffee bar was well organized, the reception desk was well organized, and the planes looked well kept. Helpful suggestions: - Do an informational session to sit inside the planes to see how you fit (6' - 6'4") will fit well in a 172. Cessna 150 being this tall will not go well. - Invest in the Sporty's monthly subscription ($60 at this time) to gain some knowledge beforehand on how airports and aircraft work. - Be willing to do research while also excited to learn new things. - Enjoy your time in the air once you take off (take pictures) because only about the last 100 years have people been able to see earth from POV of a pilot. read more

What a fantastic experience for RC's birthday: a flying lesson! For just over $200 you get a half-hour tour of the plane, the controls, tips, and a thorough enough education to take the controls for an hour in the air with your instructor. Every COVID precaution is in place and we had a gorgeous, sunny, cool August day for the family to gather and watch outside. The instructor handles the takeoff and landing, but the rest of the time you are in control as you fly over the Twin Cities and see everything you want from above. I decided to take flight training during the pandemic. I was already hooked before my discovery flight, but after the discovery flight I thought I could really do this. Inflight Pilot Training is a super professional, very safe and welcoming learning environment. Every CFI I have interacted with have been nothing but helpful. I'm doing my training in my spare time, and as the airlines are picking up new pilots from the talented pool at Inflight, I just started with my third CFI. I am still in contact with my previous CFIs, they are invested in seeing me attain my pilot's license. All the support staff are very helpful, and everyone is knowledgeable about flying and systems. The planes are very well maintained, and most have some glass cockpit in addition to the analog instruments. Because of this experience, I am now going to continue my training past my pilot's license and move on to other certifications. We scheduled an Infight intro flight with Cecilie and showed up at our agreed upon date and time. As per the conversation we had two months prior to the date, we checked in a week ahead of time to confirm the flight, and Cecilie confirmed with us the day of because weather is always a factor! She was timely, helpful, and set a great example/roll model for our teenage daughter who is interested in becoming a pilot. The appointment was scheduled for 2 hours, including the 30 minute prep/ground intro, hour flight where she flew the plane and Cecilie kindly took photos of her, and the 30 minute land and debrief. We had a lot of questions about the flight program and Cecilie took extra time to answer all of them, and logged our daughter's first flight hour into her logbook. The facilities were clean and comfortable. While our daughter flew we were able to enjoy the lounge with comfortable couches, complimentary sodas/water, and television. There are optional vending machines, microwaves, and coffee. The office/shop has a professional feel and offers some clothing (branded) and flight books, instructional guides, and useful items for pilots. We will be going back for lessons and recommend Cecilie for a friendly face and instructor. read more

I arranged a discovery flight for my daughter's birthday. She LOVED it! The session begins with a full pre-flight check of the plane, while the CFI explains the controls and each step of the flight check process. Then, there's instruction in how the controls work, and a thorough description of what to expect in the air. Once you start the engine, you have a full hour of handling the controls in tandem with your CFI. Once you return to the hangar, Sweet Martha's Cookies await as your reward! I was able to ride along as a passenger and see how much my daughter enjoyed taking the controls and experiencing flying herself. I hadn't expected this; it's a nice perk to allow a passenger for this flight. Kayla was a wonderful CFI. She explained every step in layman's terms, providing insight to the science behind our maneuvers. She displayed a combination of humor, competence, and knowledge that left us confident that we'd have a great flight - and we did! A Discovery Flight is the perfect experience for someone who thinks they might want to pursue aviation. It's also a wonderful experience for someone like me - I don't plan to learn to fly, but I really enjoyed seeing the mechanics of flight firsthand. read more

I scheduled an appointment 10 days in advance to introduce my girlfriend to single prop flight. I called Inflight and talked to a woman about the specifics and the schedule. We agreed to a discovery flight date and time. When I arrived on the agreed-upon time, I met the same woman I talked to but she had no record of our call or appointment. She could not accommodate our request as 'all the planes were out'. She made no attempt to rectify the situation. My girlfriend and I were very disappointed and inspired no confidence as to the reputation of local flight services. I suggest you take your business somewhere else. read more

I had the opportunity to participate in a discovery flight with Inflight Pilot Training. Overall, it was a terrific experience! Ambry was my instructor for the morning and started out with some pre-flight basic instruction. Next I helped her perform the pre-flight checks on the plane itself. Ambry was very professional and knowledgeable and encouraged me to ask questions throughout the whole process. She allowed me to handle the controls (under her guidance) right from the start, allowing me to fully participate in getting the plane off the ground and to our cruising altitude. After that she taught me some basic turning maneuvers and even allowed me to recover from a stall! We had a full hour in the air before landing back at the airport. I will be returning to InFlight Pilot Training in the near future to start the process of getting my Privates License. I highly recommend this company for the overwhelmingly positive experience I had! read more
