This is the ONLY dentist she had ever been to. So we had been going here since she was 5 6 years old, she just turned 10... So over 5 years span 2 "missed" appointments. With that I was told if she needed to be seen I could call and if they have a cancellation That Day they would allow her to be seen...? I decided to write a review because I have been reading nasty reviews (probably deserved) of other…read moredental offices in town, and I thought it might be nice to write a good review for a dental practice that definitely deserves it. I have been going to Dr Ortman since I moved to Lafayette in 2008 (I'm writing this in 2015). His staff has always been knowledgeable and friendly, and the dental hygienists are very good at what they do. Getting my teeth cleaned is not my favorite way to spend an hour, but they make it as pleasant as possible. The last hygienist I saw was Kirsten, and she was friendly, gentle, and even made me laugh a few times. There is a new dentist there, Nathan Webster, and not only is he a good dentist and explained everything clearly to me, but he's also easy on the eyes. Mmmm hmmm. Anyway, since my insurance is through Purdue (for grad students) and it's total crap, I had to pay out of pocket, about $245 for x-rays, exam, and cleaning. While that's not cheap for me at all, it's still better than going to the two places that are covered under my insurance, both of which magically see cavities that you don't have and run exorbitant, unnecessary treatments such as "deep cleaning" and "mouth cancer screen". Oh, and if you're from Dr. Ortman's practice and you're reading this: please update your website and add some pics of your new dentist. Thx.

After getting several referrals from co-workers for Dr. Snyder, I made an appointment. She is one of the top dentists I've ever been to. Her and her staff are friendly and professional. I have visited her office three times now (guess what...still no cavities!), and have zero complaints. She's about the friendliest person you'll ever meet too. My services always go smoothly. Her office is clean and modern, equipped with all top dental equipment. On my most recent visit, the office had to reschedule my appointment at the last minute. Most medical offices will penalize a patient if they do this yet do it themselves freely. Not Dr. Snyder's office. I received a gift card for the inconvenience of the last minute rescheduling. I sincerely appreciated this accountability and gesture. Even though Dr. Snyder is out of network for me and I have to pay in full up front and wait for insurance to reimburse me, going to a friendly and ethical dental office is worth it. The dentist and the assistant were so so nice, gentle, and caring. They listened to me and could see exactly what the problem was. I was in, filled out the new patient information, was examined, numb, and had my wisdom tooth pulled in a little over a hour. Quick, painless, gentle, and VERY kind. I would recommend Highland Creek to anyone who needs dental care.

Well the email is a mile long and I got a character wrong. it did not ping back to my former dentist either. But Highland Creek didn't get it. I show up on the appointment day and fill out 15 minutes of paperwork. Then I go back and am told they won't do an exam without xrays and they didn't get mine from the other dentist. They would take xrays but I do not want unnecessary xrays taken as I had just had them taken 6 months ago. So I said I'd reschedule. In retrospect not sure I will reschedule WITH THEM. They could have told me yesterday that they didn't have the records. A major hassle (for me).

They work with new dental assistants, but have had the same employees for years. Have had issues over the years. Once we called Dr Guido at about 6:00 AM because of an issue that arose. It was the only time we could contact them to tell them we weren't going to be able to make our appointment that day. He was very nice about us waking him up early. The Corona virus, he contacted us on a Saturday evening to touch base in person about our up coming appointments. Can't say enough THANKS for the way they have worked with us over the years. You are a person with real life situations not just a number. Even though they are not a children's dental office, they work well with the little ones too.
