Taco fest was held in a side of parking lot next to a Mexican flea market. There was about 5 food truck vendors and few small booth vendors. Parking: it was bit of an issue. I got lucky because I went there pretty early but by the time we were leaving so many cars were fighting over a spot. Food: we tried tacos from two different food trucks. They were all good. We didn't know which one to go so went for a longest line. Sorry I can't remember the names but mostly we enjoyed pork meat. One small booth served some freshly cut potatoes. It was really good. Location: it was nice how event was prepared outdoor and indoor seatings. I really appreciate everything was prepared there but there's a reason why I gave four stars instead of five. We sat inside which connects to the market since weather was bit chilly. And I saw something on the wall that I shouldn't have watched. Yes I saw a cockroach crawling on the wall. Luckily I saw it after we were all done eating but left the event right after. Event had a DJ playing music with up beat and a small bounce house for kids. There was also gave painting on the side for kids and grown ups. Hopefully next year, it can be held at a better location or on a separate day hope it can be held in Fishers. Price: price wasn't super crazy. At one truck we bought four tacos and a juice for $15. It was reasonable I thought. But i do recommend taking some cash in case their system breaks down. Overall I enjoyed my day out at Taco fest.

Indiana Discount Mall events almost always deliver. The music, the MCs, entertainment, bounce houses, and food are more than enough reasons why people flock to their outdoor block parties. They've even had ponies in the past! Parking is free albeit always hectic unless you get there early enough. 2019's Taco & Beer Fest was a hit. It fills my heart to see so much diversity at this event, from the vendors to the attendees. There were a lot more vendors this year and thank heavens it was not just limited to tacos; there were elotes stands, funnel cakes, hot dogs, frozen drinks in coconut heads, and so many treat vendors. El Venezolano Food truck made an appearance to my delight and lots of "Indy's favorite" spots also showed up! Delicias Jalisco was another vendor that came and it really made me appreciate how far the IDM and these places have come. They've established themselves in the community and I'm glad to see them supporting family friendly events like this! The patio section was available to grab a seat and eat while the live DJ played under a tent nearby. There also was Mexican folkloric dances going on in the indoor salon. Outside of the patio the food trucks and tents were safely corralled off from the hectic parking situation which made it great to stroll around until you made your choice(s). Overall another successful event with a variety of great diverse food and plenty of friendly faces there with the sole intention of having tasty snacks and a good time!

Located in the same parking lot as Saraga Market and the discount mall! Parking wasn't too bad. Fair warning that I came in expecting many food trucks but overall there was 5 or so. Enough to kill an hour or two trying all the food. Live music and indoor seating/performance area too

Where to start! New food trucks to try! I looove FOOD TRUCKSI tried tacos, quesadillas and corn on the cob before I wobble away! Everything was DELICIOUS! Wanted one if those drinks in the coconut but I got there late and lines were very long. Next month I will try something different. The car show was pretty cool too!

8-10 taco trucks show up every few weeks on the weekend at Indy Discount Mall. There is a covered area with tables and chairs for people to consume the tacos. At the front there is a stage where there's karaoke. By the side there is a mechanical bull, going at the same time as karaoke. Tacos, karaoke, mechanical bull. Hard to argue with that.

First time attending the Indy Taco Fest and we weren't disappointed! It's connected to the discount mall, (it's pretty much a flea market) and there are tons of Hispanic booths selling awesome stuff. They had a lot to offer like little kids jeeps, car speakers, cowboy hats and boots, clothes, quinceanera dresses, and communion outfits. At the back of the discount mall is a little restaurant that sells Mexican food. I ordered 2 steak tacos and a bottle of soda. It was about $4. The steak and toppings were very fresh and delicious. We were wondering where the "Taco Fest" part was located and we found it AFTER we ate the tacos inside of the mall. Sad face. Outside are about 10 food trucks selling drinks, elote, tacos, enchiladas, soups, and tons more. I didn't order any tacos from the trucks but I did have some of the best elote I've ever had! It didn't have too much mayo or cheese and the chile powder wasn't overbearing and it was only $3! I ordered a bahama mama from the drink truck and it came in a monkey cup that was also a piggy bank. The drink was $10. There are picnic tables with umbrellas in the middle of the trucks where you can sit and enjoy your food. There's also a "hall" that has a stage where we heard a couple of bands playing. You can sit and enjoy your food in the hall as well. There's also a bar that serves beer. I will definitely be back to the Taco Fest!

There's an exhibit that shows a kitchen "the way it used to be" when Heinz Ketchup first reared its pasty head back in 40s or 50s... and I took a peak inside the airstream and it's got some serious style. From the outside it has some serious style, too. Maybe that's why I felt the bar was raised for substance? I think so... Can you tell I'm waffling? I'm not sure if I gave this place a fair shake or not. At Sun King's A Few Hops More tapping... they parked and served. On the menu: salad, hot dog and cookies... anything else? I think there might have been one other thing but it wasn't handheld enough for my "beer in the left, food in the right," situation. So dog it was. I overheard Mabel say, "we just have to support local -- from food to business owners." Good deal Mabel. And so local, grass fed hot dog it is. It was mighty delicious. But maybe my food truck standards are too high? With the bacon truck in LA... with the crazy foods Duos is slanging... etc. I just always expect something totally off the wall to come out of a food truck. So instead of a hot dog... how about a pineapple truffle dog? An apple bacon dog? Hmmm... a dog from a truck is good & all... but... droppin' a five spot on a dog is a little too much for this cat. Having said all that... thanks for being another food truck woven into the tapestry of it all! I totally look forward to see what kind of moves you'll put on Indy Ms. Mabel!

One of the best soups I've ever had. To get it out of an AirStream trailer is pretty surreal. The buffalo mac and cheese has shredded chicken and blue cheese crumbles. Sooooo tasty. The hot dogs are all beef and all organic. This was the one thing I didn't care for. To be fair though, I had given up carbs (what an idiot) and had it without a bun and with only a smidge of ketchup. However, hubby finished it with the bun and stone ground mustard and proclaimed it fabulous. I've always been too full to try one of her desserts. Next time!!!

The falafel wrap and fries I got from the middle eastern restaurant were amazing. The cookies were great too. City market had plenty of options and lots of seating. Some of the stands were empty, though. And the inside is just very dated in general. A lot of things just need a small update. You can tell you're in a building that's seen better days, that all it is. Not sure about parking. Extremely easy access from the cultural trail bike path and from the IndyGo Redline (transit center stop). It's downtown so walking there is easy if you're close by. This place has seen better days. For whatever reason I had never had a chance to come here but now I work very close to City Market, I'll be here at least a couple days a week for lunch. As a person who loves going to the Garage food hall and AMP, it is so easy for me to like this place. I love food courts that have local business instead of chain fast food restaurants. I love how there are plenty of seating upstairs and no matter what mood you are in you'd find something you like here. So far I have only tried two different stores but I'm confident I'll try everything in a month :) I'm so thankful for this fun place.
