The "Indochine" bills itself as a Thai restaurant that is part of the "Cinecitta" multiplex complex, even so located in a separate buidling next to the cinemas, thus feeling more like a separate restaurant. The interior is rather "laid back" not to say sparecly decorated, more like a functional restaurants in a multiplex and not a stand-alone restaurant. The large amount of small tables crammed into the space does not invite guests to linger around after their meal (most probably an intentional move).
The menu is a mix of various asian style offerings, including Thai and Japanese food amongst others. In addition guests can choose from the menu of the "Tapas Bar" downstairs in the same building. Portions are reasonable sized (Tapas portions feel larger though). The food is of good quality giving European guests a reasonable impression of Asian food even so clearly adapted to European tastes (so don't expect it to be really spicey unless you request though). In addition to its regular offerings the restaurant (as the Tapas Bar) also usually offers weekly specials of various styles worth giving a chance.
The service was fast and friendly, even though the restaurant was packed to the last seat. Especially weekends in the early evening a reservation is recommended, although the turnaround time on most tables is rather quick, so spontaneous guests stand a good chance if they are willing to wait a couple of minutes in the entrance area.
Recommended for a "quick" sit-down, table-service Asian style on a visit to the multiplex for guests willing to enjoy Asian food adapted for European guests. read more
