Officers from District One responded to the scene within minutes. Two cars, two Segway cops, and an undercover unit. In total, I had six officers arrive to help track down the thief. They listened, they asked the right questions, and explained to me what they were doing and how the process would work. An officer even accompanied me home to make sure I was safe. Later, I met with detectives to discuss activity on my account from the thief. They were able to use the information I provided to track down the suspect, make an arrest, and retrieve my property. It only took a week to get everything resolved. I was pleased with District One throughout the entire ordeal. From a quick police response time, to regular communication with detectives, and an increase in patrol following the incident, Cincinnati Police made me feel at ease during a stressful and traumatic time.

I report a theft from a business that went through my personal belongings, and when I politely asked for my items back, the employee was rude, dismissive, and passive aggressive. Maybe even the 40+ churches in this town of about 19,253 residents also helps. The population has oddly enough remained the same for the past 45 years. This seemed strange until we brought in experts to find out how the population was always the same every year. They concluded after extensive research, and at great financial cost to the city, that the reason the population stays the same is because every time a woman gets pregnant a man leaves town, never to return. Okay, you got me, I just made that paragraph up, but it made you smile, right? Crime statistics of 2013 show that Shelbyville rated a 129.2 overall crime number, and the US average was 261.6, the lower the number the less crimes. By far the highest percentage of crimes were thefts. Which were about 5 times higher than all other crimes. Violent and major crimes were very low. Although illegal drugs remain an issue, as they do everywhere. The city police patrol an area of about 4 square miles and get about 16,000 calls per year. There are 45 police officers, plus the reserve units, office personal and 9 dispatchers. The current police Chief is Keith England and his Deputy Chief is Mark Weidner.

I definitely regret moving here. And I recommend everyone I encounter that ask to move to a nice area to avoid green township. It's a joke. You are better dealing with Cincinnati police who actually fight real crimes. I can't believe these officers decided to be law enforcement just to play police. No point in contacting officer Mitch the supervisor he is a joke too. The only hope is to try to contact the head of green township administration Frank Burkenhower to maybe address their laziness. Always record your encounters. They don't turn on body cam when they are sneaky. Be careful ladies.

The Oxford, Ohio police never show up whenever I report a legitimate crime but had no problem…read morestopping me with five police cars whenever I took walks and played Pokémon GO at night. They don't bat an eye whenever college students act up and I even heard one of them say they prefer to leave them alone because they "don't want to ruin their lives". Yet if you look poor or drive an old vehicle then they have no problem stopping you. They accused me once of being a drug dealer a few years ago just because I walked down the street with a handbag in a poor part of town but backed away when I said I was a Miami University student that just got off the bus. They buried a sexual assault case from a dear family member because the perpetrator was a police officer. I have never seen a more corrupt police force and am disappointed that this is who represents Oxford. There are a few good officers, but too many spoil the bunch. Lazy, out-of-shape buffoons who care more about appearing busy than actually doing anything of worth. If you are about to have a crime committed against you, pray that you can get out of it yourself or hope that you stumble on one of the few good officers who will do more than drink coffee at one of the local businesses. Oxford, Ohio is one of many reasons people distrust the police.
