Coding is the trendy new career and skill set. I work in digital marketing but I've been interested…read moreto learn more about coding. I saw a sponsored Facebook ad for a free Intro to Coding class at Eleven Fifty Academy and signed up. This class took place on a Saturday inside Launch Fishers, and more than 40 students showed up. It was a diverse group but we all shared a common interest in learning more about coding. No experience is required! The instructors explain the basics of code and walk you through step-by-step as you code on your own. It's done on a free online tool so you can take home your coding masterpiece and continue to practice. Breakfast and lunch is provided and admission counselors are on-site if you want to learn more about a career in coding and enrolling in their classes. There is zero pressure to sign up, so if you're like me and just want to get your feet wet, you won't be judged.

The instructors and learning teams are all fantastic and super encouraging. I'm not going to lie, there's definitely a learning curve, especially if you have no coding experience. But I promise if you put in the work you'll be amazed at what you can learn in a short amount of time. EFA is always updating their coursework to keep up with current technologies. Their career team members are awesome and you get a lifetime career support! I know a few people that have gotten jobs BEFORE they graduate. I have put my job search on hold because I found that I enjoy web development. And I'm not at all nervous about NOT finding a job. Another plus is that you can either do the 12-week full time course or the 24-week course. I am able to work my full time job; we meet twice a week and every other Saturday. At the time I'm writing this review, EFA is currently 100% virtual. So you can live anywhere and attend. Ok,I know I'm starting to sound like a sales pitch/advertisement. If you are interested, I would attend one of their free classes. :D

As a former student at Fortis College, I can honestly say that one of the biggest reasons I am…read morelooking to return is because of my experience with Mr. Chad as my HVAC instructor. He is truly one of the best teachers I've ever had, both inside and outside of the classroom. Mr. Chad has a gift for making HVAC concepts clear and easy to understand. He takes the time to ensure that every student, no matter their background or learning pace, is able to keep up and feel confident in the material. He doesn't just teach he invests in his students' growth and success, and that's something that really stood out to me during my time at Fortis. What I respect most about Mr. Chad is his character. He is knowledgeable and respectful of all cultures, and he also has a deep understanding of African American history and culture. That awareness, combined with his fairness and integrity, makes the classroom a welcoming place for everyone. I never once felt judged or overlooked he treats every student with the same level of respect and encouragement. On top of his knowledge and professionalism, Mr. Chad is approachable, easygoing, and very easy to get along with. He creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and reaching out for help. He will go the extra mile, whether it's staying after class, offering advice, or simply motivating you to push forward when things get tough. He's a stand up guy who will never lead you in the wrong direction. Because of the foundation he gave me, I feel confident about returning to Fortis to continue my education. I know that with Mr. Chad as an instructor, I'll be supported, challenged, and guided in the right way. Fortis College is fortunate to have him, and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to learn from him and excited for the chance to do so again.

While actively in school I was told it was $ 1,000 that I needed to pay out of pocket pocketed which I paid. I requested a copy of the promise to pay that I signed only to receive doctored ledgers of what was supposedly paid by the VA. I've left messages for corporate to contact me only to get ghosted. Ms Wells was very rude and unprofessional and is not there to assist the students. I'm very disappointed in how they have handled me during this time.

PLEASE READ I…read moregraduated from the electrical program with a 3.97 GPA and 94% attendance, but my overall experience was very disappointing. Upper management was unprofessional and disorganized, and for the amount they charge, the quality should be much higher. Teachers were treated poorly, which caused several of the best instructors to leave during my time there. The hands-on training was weak and poorly managed. Fortunately, I had previous experience and often ended up helping other students with lab work. We were chronically short on teachers, which hurt the quality of instruction even more. At one point, a new instructor with no background in motors or PLCs was assigned to teach that class on his very first day. It was clear that management had set him--and us--up for failure. Overall, this program needs serious improvement in management, staffing, and hands-on training before it can justify its cost. The only positive aspect of my experience at this school was the career services team and the few teachers who genuinely cared about their students. Everything else in this review reflects my overall experience during the entire program. There are much better options out there if you or your child is interested in getting into the electrical field. ABC and IEC apprenticeship programs are generally a much smarter route if you want to become an electrician, since they combine paid on-the-job training with structured classroom instruction and lead toward journeyman status. If you're considering this school for other trades besides electrical, I'd still be very cautious and find a different school

As a single parent, I have to take a parent plus loan in order to help my child obtain an education. I was assured that his tuition and housing was completely covered and then on his last month there they wanted an additional $500.00 . Neither the school nor the Colligate Housing would offer an explanation as to why. Not only did my child receive 3 eviction notices because the school would not pay the rent, I now have a collections company harassing me for money. I have even spoken with the president of the school and he refused to help and would only give political answers. There are plenty of Tech schools out there. Don't make the same mistake that I did!

WOW, like 75% NOT covered by the practice exams. Just the start. Went back and did not focus on the tests as much (as they are virtually useless as they do not cover most of the exam) and did the sections again trying to focus on the questions that were on the exam and not on practice tests. Had to manually go back page by page to do this. With some being almost 100 pages, I used their live chat to see if I was just missing the way to start it over. No response. Said to click submit to get an email response, but there was not submit button? Tried again later in the afternoon, same. Tried again a day later with that and an additional question/comment, still NO RESPONSE. I am not being hyperbolic by saying I tried to use their "Live Chat" 8+ times over multiple days and NEVER got a response by chat or email. Study guide and customer service is TERRIBLE. Do not waste your money as I did.

I contacted AIM and no less than 4 separate text numbers contacted me about scheduling a "visit" and career planning session. I don't need a visit or career planning anything. I had to miss the first session due to the joy of the flu. It happens. I tried calling the main number, campus number and number(s) that had texted me. No contact with a human and the representative who called a few days later said they were never informed. I did leave messages. Red flag. A few days later a different person contacts me from the now 6th different number saying there's an Open House and would I like to come since I just asked for information. Flag, flag. That's three strikes and here's your used car salespeople sticker. It felt like that. Their own information on their website on "How to Apply" lists the actual application as second to last after the high pressure sales presentation and financial aid discussion. Which means BS hype and then push hard for loans to fill any gaps. In short. Admissions over all else and after just cursory digging there are plenty of reviews and why not to go to any of their campus's. Go to Vincennes or Ivy Tech in Ft. Wayne or Purdue of anywhere else but this train wreck.
