This is a temporary vinyl mural located in Terminal A of the Indianapolis International Airport. It was painted in 2021 by Nicholas Badman as part of the Indianapolis Airport Authority Art Program. Badman is an artist and urban planner.
The mural is comprised of two basic colors, black and yellow. It is a digital illustration of what pert of Indianapolis looks light at night. You can see rivers, lights from highways, streets, the glow of urban areas across the region, and pinpoints of individual homes.
This mural is abstract and is a little too busy for my taste. It is a pretty long mural that runs along the entire length of the wall leading to the gates at the far end of the terminal. Certain sections of the mural are clear while there are a few that appear splotchy to me. But that is just me.
Being that this mural is in the airport, this is definitely not a destination mural. You will only see it if you are flying in or out of the airport. Since it is after the security check point, you need an airplane ticket to see it. So, if you happen to be in the airport be sure to check it out before it is gone. read more
