There are so many Indian restaurants in the greater London area. I have ones that I go to regularly, but I don't always stay near them, and it's a trek to get to them, so I always look around my local area to see what's close and good. Of course, I use Yelp! as a reference.
I was working in West London, near Park Royal, in an industrial area, so there wasn't much around. I looked at Google Maps and Yelp! to find the nearest restaurants, and I came upon Indian Villa. It was a 30 minute walk, or 10 minutes on the Tube. One night, I decided to try it out, the Tube ride was 8 minutes and 2 stops! Very close, and as I walked out of the Tube station, it was literally across the street!
I walked in and was welcomed to a small and modern-looking Indian restaurant, I was shown to a table and sat down. It wasn't busy, but there were a few people eating, and a couple of people waiting for takeaway.
My server came over with a smile and asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a beer and papadam, which quickly came. I perused the menu and while they had the typical Indian curry dishes, one that struck me was "Bombay Butter Chicken." Normally, Butter Chicken is a mild dish, but this version was spicy! I love the combination of flavors, so I ordered it, with a side of Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan.
I Enjoyed my papadams and the relish tray, especially the Lime Pickle, one of my favorites, then my mains came- some of the best curry I have ever had! The Bombay Butter Chicken was perfect- great flavor and a nice spice!
I was in the area working for 4 weeks, so I came here a few more times, the waitress got to know me and she always had a cold Cobra and papadam on the table before I even sat down!
This has now become one of my favorite Curry Houses in London, I look forward to coming back! read more
