Better than expected. Way better than India Oven across the way. It is located right next to Bella Bru in the Raleys shopping center. I LOVE Indian food. Our go to place is Bombay Grill downtown and had yet found anyone that comes close to freshness and flavor until now. They are second best. We arrived at 6 on a Monday night and the place was empty. It is VERY small inside. There's only 6-8 booths and that is IT!! Not good for large parties whatsoever. A young man, came to take our order. He answered questions I had, sort of but will expand later. We ordered chicken Tikka, palak paneer and mixed veg in curry to share. Tikka was a little more watery than what I was used to and was a little bland. Palak was fresh but seemed skimpy on the cheese because I had to dig around to find any. The veg was sticky but maybe that's how its supposed to be? The garlic naan was the BEST I ever had. Very flavorful with a slight crisp. Prices are comparable, about $15 per entree. I asked if they were more family style or did they have a combo that one could get. He didn't know what that meant so I asked if two people could share and he said, maybe? but it might not be enough. I said, I would get 2 or 3 different entrees. I asked for ice for my water. He seemed perplexed by the request and asked if he could just bring me a cup. I held up my empty cup! He kept swaying back and forth like a nervous tick. After taking our order, not only did he leave he menus on the table but put our plates on top of them. I had to tell him, UM can you take away the menus so I am not eating on top of them? Didn't bring out enough utensils. Asked for to-go boxes and he wants to give me trays for liquid items. He later brings me more suitable containers. What a hot mess but I chalk that up to being untrained youth. Hopefully someone takes some time to show him the ropes. By the time we left, there was a line and the tables were filled up so they already have a following. Clearly a family business and I like supporting small businesses so I will be back. They had a lot of unique items I had never seen before that I would like to try.

Excellent Indian cuisine where the prices are shockingly lower than the actual value and quality of the product. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken were seasoned just right and also contained a decent amount of chicken and curry that most places wouldn't. The size of the dishes along with the rice provided for the first time were too much for my wife and I to finish where we ended up having leftovers. Their garlic naan is also aesthetically pleasing along with the water jugs they provide to their diners. The service was solid and value is incredibly hard to match. 5/5.

Small location about 8 tables. There is an order to go counter or can sit and order from table. Service is good, staff very friendly. Explained some items and came and checked on us several times. - food came out extremely slow but worth the wait. I think everything is cooked fresh to order. All the food was good and I would go back. They seemed to do a lot of to go orders.

After watching a movie, we got a late dinner and decided to try Indian Sizzle. I ordered the butter chicken and it came with rice. I like how you can say how spicy you want it as I want to be able to taste my food. I elected for the mild and it was the perfect amount of spice for me. The chicken was tender and moist. It went really well with the rice. Next time I will also get naan.

This is my new favorite Indian place in Natomas! (Being reviewed by an Indian that is particular about her food!) -Kind, attentive service -Clean and comfy booth seating -Food was amazing and brought out promptly! What we ordered: (1) Gol Gappe (a.k.a. Pani Puri) comes on shot glasses, cute and practical presentation (2) Alu Tikki chaat was okay, a bit soggy but still flavorful (3) Chole Bhature were soooooo yummy! Authentic and crispy! (4) Butter chicken (comes with rice) was perfection. My husband has tried it at all the local Indian restaurants here and this has been the best by far. (5) Chai was good and freshly made. (6) Ras malai - don't skip out on this dessert! Best of all, this place is very reasonably priced! I am SO EXCITED to come back here again soon! :)

First timer had Indian food cravings. Place is small, service was great food was awesome! Place was packed but luckily we were the early ones to get a table since the table seating is limited. Tried Gal Goppe-Crispy puris filled with tangy and spicy flavored water. Interesting items but good! Then had the usual Indian items we order. Definitely a good small spot to eat and will return

Their butter chicken is, without a doubt, one of the best I've ever tasted. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the gravy was decadent. If you are vegetarian -- cannot go wrong with the Paneer Bhurji. Having freshly prepared lassi on their menu was a revelation. You can def taste the difference. Service was top notch, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We've come back a few times trying different dishes from their menu and all have been very tasty and a great discovery for us. We have tried items we've never had before from other Indian restaurants. What we like: (1) Non-veg thali, my sister tried this and she liked it very much because there's different flavor profiles in one plate including a not so sweet dessert. (2) Gol goppe, a favorite fun starter. (3) Makki di roti and saag thali, saag is very rich and tasty and the cornmeal roti complements it well. (4) Amritsari Kulcha, a flat bread filled with potatoes and comes with chole curry. The curry is the perfect accompaniment to the potato flat bread. The bread tastes like french fries. (5) Goat biryani served with raita, yummy tender goat with flavorful rice with so many spices. You can drizzle raita on top or chase the goat and rice with the tangy raita. Will definitely have this again. Okay: (1) Baigan bharta, eggplant curry, maybe I want it more smoky. (2) Bread pakora with chai, it's good. Can skip: (1) Samosa (2) Patties Service is good. Prepare to wait for food on busy dinner service days that can include pick up orders. Worth the wait for the yummy dishes. Thank you.

Indian Sizzle? Well, the name says it all! We were craving some last minute Indian food on our road trip up from Southern California and Indian Sizzle delivered with some minor caveats. Located in a nice little strip mall plaza within the Sacramento area, the restaurant itself seemed clean inside though a bit small. The service itself was somewhat prompt which was a plus however. As for the bites, I've gotta admit that I was a tad bit disappointed. While the food wasn't a total miss, we did have some pet peeves. The Dai Vada (fritters covered with yogurt and spices) was way too sweet enough to enjoy and with my mom being Diabetic, not really even an option for her to eat much of it unfortunately. We also thought perhaps the Vada (chickpea fritters) themselves were frozen and not as fresh. As for the Veggie Pakoras, they were decent in terms of flavor and crunch. Lastly, the Shahi Paneer (cottage cheese in a tomato gravy or curry) could've had more paneer in it and tasted a bit more fresh as well. The basmati rice also seemed a bit undercooked and maybe lacking freshness as well. A bit sad because the garlic naan accompanying our meal seemed more fresh and flavorful. I am grateful the server apologized on the overly sweet yogurt however. I think it's always a great idea to always try one bite and ensure you're completely satisfied with what you're being served. All in all, I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying out Indian Sizzle.

This was the first time I ate here, and what I ate was absolutely delicious and fresh! I'm not even sure what I was eating, but I think two of the dishes were chicken. I wasn't even sure what to do with the sauce, so I just poured it on the two chicken dishes with rice, and it tasted amazing! I will definitely return.

Rarely do I write this, but we need a five plus star option. The Indian Sizzle is FANTASTIC! It's a must try. This is one of those secrets that as much as I want to keep this to myself, I want everyone to experience the same amazing service, food, and just everything that I have. Yes my friends, this place is so delicious! Trust and verify, and that I've done. The food has been consistently perfect. My review is based on Takeaway, and my theory has always been if I can experience, amazing food, quality, and all that goes along with Takeaway, that I know the dine in experience is going to mirror that. It was later into the evening and we were starving, and wanted to bypass some of the obvious easy to go to places because we just wanted something tasty. We were over at Raleys, which is in the same shopping center, and saw the sign and it was kismet ! I called over and asked if I could place an order to go and was treated so kindly over the phone. The customer service was top-notch. As I was placing our order, I asked a few questions about different menu items, and felt that the responses not only were genuine, but were heartfelt and honest. I frequent many of our local Indian restaurants, and even when I'm in the Bay Area, I have some go to Indian restaurants that I really enjoy. Indian sizzle is at the top of that list of places that I will visit on a regular basis. The tandoori chicken. Absolutely perfect. The chicken not only was tender all the way through, but was incredibly well seasoned and tasty. My mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious the chicken was. The garlic naan, I would've preferred a little bit more buttery garlic on it, but it was so good. It was light and airy, and we almost had an arm wrestle as to who was going to get the last piece. The butter chicken. I want to bathe in the sauce. This is the first time that I've had butter chicken that was this outstanding! Butter chicken is usually my go to, but I'm always hard-pressed to find a restaurant that not only does a great job with it, but damn this was good! Big pieces of chicken swimming in a lovely sea of perfect sauce. The chicken almost taste like they use the tandoori chicken, and if that's their secret, I'm sorry to have spilled the beans but it's a must try. The samosa chaat- I want to cry because this is so delicious. Everything about the Samosa chaat was perfection. Each bite was a taste of perfection. The customer service is amazing, the food is beyond delicious, and quite frankly, they made us feel like we had been invited into their home and had cooked just for us. The woman that's in the kitchen makes magic. You can tell with each bite that she clearly has poured her heart into each one of these dishes , and it taste like home. I seriously want them to adopt me! An amazing experience with amazing food that truly is a must try if you enjoy truly authentic cuisine. Thank you so much for opening this wonderful location, and bringing so much joy to our area!

If I had to make a rough estimate, I've had Indian food at, perhaps... 200 different restaurants over the years? Without a doubt, Indian Sizzle beats at least 197 of those. I had their signature thali, which included butter chicken, lamb curry, dal, and tandoori chicken. EVERYTHING was amazing. Same for my wife's vegetarian thali. Basically, if you enjoy Indian cuisine, this place is a MUST try. Required eating, so to speak. Go there now, thank me later.

Really good pani puri. So many spices, it's a party of flavors! Chole bhature are our favorite here. Attentive service. Comfy booths.

We raised the concern with the server and mentioned have had only one bite the whole thing was untouched, their solution to the situation was no refund, they can instead give a curry in exchange which was barely $10-$12, while the platter costed whopping $28.50 plus taxes, which we didn't accept and left the place. A couple more people came for to go orders while we were there. While we were there we weren't joined by any additional diners. It may be because we at so early. We arrived at around 5:15pm. Early for a Warm and Sunny Spring Day. We ordered the Maharani Dinner. It included Samosa, Chan Masala, MatterPaneer, Navratilova Korma, Naan, Rice, Raita, and rice pudding for dessert. It was plenty to share and only $19.99. We also ordered the Lamb Saag Wala with the creamed spinach. He thinks there was a whole pound or more of spinach in that dish. We ordered the Dinner Medium Spice and the Lamb Saag Wala. I think we should have gotten them both medium. They were really good. My favorite dish was the Chana Masala. I've seen some people order this Dinner on there own and them and their companion both get a Dinner, but we feel that is too much food so we share a Dinner and still have some to take home as we always order an additional dish to go with it. If we didn't order an additional dish we would finish the Dinner. The Dinner is such a great deal. Soon as we discovered it we've been ordering it every time. They also have the Maharaja Dinner for $24.95 and that is the non veg variety so it comes with Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kebab, Butter Chicken, ect. Both are good choices. For drinks my husband ordered the Mango Lassie, it came warm, he asked for a glass of ice half way through and poured the rest over ice and it was much better. This would be an even better drink if they blended it with ice.

We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikki Masala, rice, Garlic Naan, a Lamb dish, and Mango Lassi drink. Everything was delicious and we can happily say we found a new go to spot in Sac!

I don't say this lightly this place is an absolute hidden gem. From the moment we walked into VJ's…read moreKitchen, you could tell this wasn't your average Indian restaurant. The aroma alone was enough to make us hungry instantly. We went for the buffet, and honestly, it felt like a full-on feast. Every dish had its own bold, authentic flavor nothing tasted rushed or watered down. You can really tell the food is made with care and proper spices, not just thrown together. The highlight of the entire experience? The stuffed mushrooms. Unreal. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and honestly one of the best things I've had at any Indian restaurant. I would go back just for that. The biryanis were rich and fragrant, the curries were creamy and well-balanced, and everything tasted fresh. Service was smooth, and the guy at the register was especially nice and attentive he made us feel welcome right away. The only small thing they offer butter naan with the buffet, but not garlic naan. Not a dealbreaker at all, but garlic naan would've taken the experience to another level. Overall, this place absolutely delivers. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Indian food that actually stands out, VJ's Kitchen is 100% worth it. Already planning my next visit.
