The Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken were seasoned just right and also contained a decent amount of chicken and curry that most places wouldn't. The size of the dishes along with the rice provided for the first time were too much for my wife and I to finish where we ended up having leftovers. My family and I have visited Indian Sizzle twice in one month because we loved the food so much. What stood out to me the most was the presentation. We had the pani puri as a starter, and it was served in a unique shot-style presentation that was both creative and fun. The food was delicious, and we really appreciated how accommodating they were with our dietary needs. Since I don't eat onion or garlic, the chef prepared a wonderful aloo gobi specially for me, and it was absolutely delicious. Better than expected. Way better than India Oven across the way. It is located right next to Bella Bru in the Raleys shopping center. I LOVE Indian food. Our go to place is Bombay Grill downtown and had yet found anyone that comes close to freshness and flavor until now. They are second best. We arrived at 6 on a Monday night and the place was empty. It is VERY small inside. There's only 6-8 booths and that is IT!! Not good for large parties whatsoever. A young man, came to take our order. He answered questions I had, sort of but will expand later. We ordered chicken Tikka, palak paneer and mixed veg in curry to share. Tikka was a little more watery than what I was used to and was a little bland. Palak was fresh but seemed skimpy on the cheese because I had to dig around to find any. The veg was sticky but maybe that's how its supposed to be? The garlic naan was the BEST I ever had. Very flavorful with a slight crisp. Prices are comparable, about $15 per entree. I asked if they were more family style or did they have a combo that one could get. He didn't know what that meant so I asked if two people could share and he said, maybe? but it might not be enough. I said, I would get 2 or 3 different entrees. I asked for ice for my water. He seemed perplexed by the request and asked if he could just bring me a cup. I held up my empty cup! He kept swaying back and forth like a nervous tick. After taking our order, not only did he leave he menus on the table but put our plates on top of them. I had to tell him, UM can you take away the menus so I am not eating on top of them? Didn't bring out enough utensils. Asked for to-go boxes and he wants to give me trays for liquid items. He later brings me more suitable containers. What a hot mess but I chalk that up to being untrained youth. Hopefully someone takes some time to show him the ropes. For our first visit, we ordered the samosas, chai tea, gol gappe, fish tikka masala, and butter naan. It was our first time trying the gol gappe -- tangy, sweet, and such a fun bite -- and we would definitely order it again! The samosas were crispy and packed with flavor, and the fish tikka masala was rich and creamy, with fish so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. It paired perfectly with the warm, buttery naan. I usually get tikka masala with chicken, so this was my first time having it with fish -- and if you haven't tried it that way, you absolutely need to. This is one of our favorite places to eat. We've come back a few times trying different dishes from their menu and all have been very tasty and a great discovery for us. We have tried items we've never had before from other Indian restaurants. What we like: (1) Non-veg thali, my sister tried this and she liked it very much because there's different flavor profiles in one plate including a not so sweet dessert. (2) Gol goppe, a favorite fun starter. (3) Makki di roti and saag thali, saag is very rich and tasty and the cornmeal roti complements it well. (4) Amritsari Kulcha, a flat bread filled with potatoes and comes with chole curry. The curry is the perfect accompaniment to the potato flat bread. The bread tastes like french fries. (5) Goat biryani served with raita, yummy tender goat with flavorful rice with so many spices. You can drizzle raita on top or chase the goat and rice with the tangy raita. Will definitely have this again. Okay: (1) Baigan bharta, eggplant curry, maybe I want it more smoky. (2) Bread pakora with chai, it's good. Can skip: (1) Samosa (2) Patties Service is good. Indian Sizzle? Well, the name says it all! We were craving some last minute Indian food on our road trip up from Southern California and Indian Sizzle delivered with some minor caveats. Located in a nice little strip mall plaza within the Sacramento area, the restaurant itself seemed clean inside though a bit small. The service itself was somewhat prompt which was a plus however. As for the bites, I've gotta admit that I was a tad bit disappointed. While the food wasn't a total miss, we did have some pet peeves. The Dai Vada (fritters covered with yogurt and spices) was way too sweet enough to enjoy and with my mom being Diabetic, not really even an option for her to eat much of it unfortunately. We also thought perhaps the Vada (chickpea fritters) themselves were frozen and not as fresh. As for the Veggie Pakoras, they were decent in terms of flavor and crunch. Lastly, the Shahi Paneer (cottage cheese in a tomato gravy or curry) could've had more paneer in it and tasted a bit more fresh as well. The basmati rice also seemed a bit undercooked and maybe lacking freshness as well. A bit sad because the garlic naan accompanying our meal seemed more fresh and flavorful. I am grateful the server apologized on the overly sweet yogurt however. I think it's always a great idea to always try one bite and ensure you're completely satisfied with what you're being served. All in all, I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying out Indian Sizzle. read more

Visited for dinner with family and unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The Fish Tandoori was decent, while the Butter Naan and Paneer Butter Masala were average. The Chicken Pakora was the weakest dish--overly salty, greasy, difficult to chew, and made with chicken pieces that still had skin on them. The rice served with the Paneer Butter Masala was cold and sticky, which further detracted from the meal. The biggest issue was the ambience. The music was loud, making conversation difficult. We requested multiple times for the volume to be lowered, but it kept being turned back up. On a 95°F day, there was no effective air conditioning, only a standing air cooler that did little to improve comfort. Service also left much to be desired. Discussions around takeout boxes, bags, and payment felt unnecessarily difficult. A 3% credit card fee was added at checkout without any clear notice beforehand. When I asked whether customers could be informed in advance, the response was not particularly friendly or customer-focused." We just got done from going to the store at Raley's when we decided to drop by Indian Sizzle. We got the butter chicken and Garlic naan. It may not be the best, but it was decently good. The butter chicken was nicely seasoned. The reason why I gave it a 4 start is because of the Garlic naan. I have tried many places that served garlic naan and this once tasted like they threw the bread in the microwave and pasted garlic oil on it. You can tell by the texture and how the naan tasted that it was not freshly made like other places. The place inside was very tiny and had limited seating. We had to wait about 40 minutes for our food which was fine since it was quite busy. read more

My concern with my experience is my nut allergy. I placed an order Monday night for the Mixed Veggies in Curry. Online, it didn't list any nuts so in the comments on my online order, I wrote "nut allergy - all nuts." I don't believe my note was sufficient or it wasn't read while they processed my order. There was certainly nuts in this food - I had a full anaphylactic episode. That said, the food did taste good, up until I started to react. The service was quick and prompt, and the ambiance seemed nice - but I only went in to pick up my food. I didn't call the store to discuss. I believe this is part of having a Nut Allergy, you can always try your best to prevent a reaction but things slide past even the most cautious. Please don't lecture me about eating at a restaurant that has nuts, I get it - it was a choice I made. However, if you also live with a nut allergy I express caution. Maybe be more cautious or more proactive than I was. Normally Indian Restaurants are good to accommodate folks with this allergy, or they recommend not eating at their establishment. read more

Samosas, Kulcha ,vegetarian manchurian dish is amazing...butter chicken is medium spicy and was so good! The restaurant itself is small but very clean inside and the service was ok. The girl was nice but shy and semi informative when asked questions will make suggestions . However needs to buss plates from table when done , check to see how the food is... a few things could be improved service wise.. the food is top notch everything, we ordered here is very delicious and we always leave with leftovers to eat later. Tried this place on May 2025 as it seemed like a new restaurant around the area. Came with 3 people around 7:30 PM and was seated right away. Place wasnt too spacious inside, had about 5 booths lined along the wall. Each can sit about 4. They only had once server at the time we went so it took slightly longer for us to get our order taken but it wasnt an unreasonable amount. We ordered 2 orders of garlic naan, mutter paneer, chicken biryani and mango lassi. When our initial order came, we were slightly confused as the stew didnt look like it had paneer in it, turns out our server accidentally entered aloo mutter but she handled the mistake very well and we were able to get our mutter paneer in no time. The food was great and the bread tasted fresh. I wish the naan was a bit fluffier (thicker) but maybe thats just me. The biryani was good, i didnt eat the chicken but the rice portion was wonderfully spiced. The mutter paneer was fantastic and paired so nicely with the garlic naan. Mango lassi couldve been served colder but it still tasted great. Overall, the place was clean, service was kind, prices were reasonable and most important of all, the food was delicious. Indian restaurants are a dime a dozen in the Sacramento area. This is one of the better ones. My family had a miss when we dined in, but since then we have kept orders to go. The flavors are very good and authentic. Almost everything we've tried has been delicious from the usual butter chicken & garlic naan to mixed veggies, parathas, chaat and other dishes. They do take awhile after you order but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that the dishes are being made fresh. The restaurant itself is pretty small but clean with a few booths. If you haven't tried Sizzle yet, then it's worth a shot. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more
