I love a free museum and this one located in downtown Vero Beach is in a historic building. The Heritage Center is located next to Pocahontas Park. Built in 1935, this was the city's first community center. During WWII the center was used as a Serviceman's Center where dances were held during the 1940's. After the war the building was one again used as a community center where ballet and art classes were given. By the 1960's a new community center was built and this building fell into disrepair. The city was going to demolish it but Millie Burnell and the Indian River Historical Society fought to save it. The building was restored and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Today the city owns the building and the non profit Vero Heritage runs the museum. The Heritage Center has a free museum that documents the history of the Indian River Citrus Industry which produces as many as 55 billion oranges annually. In the Heritage Center you can explore photographs, artifacts, and displays. There is also a citrus themed gift shop. It is also an event venue for weddings, fundraisers, birthday parties, community meetings and more. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shout out to Cassie, Rosie and Joey with Valet who remembered Bailey's name immediately. We were offered champagne at check in and given a nice map of the grounds. The resort itself is a little on the older side but all the amenities are still well kept. With my IHG status, we were greeted with a nice bottle of wine and some sweets. The room was clean and had a huge dining room and kitchen area. It had all the essentials for a homey and comfortable stay. We loved that there were dog treats and little gift pouches in the reception area. The pool area is big and had pleasant lounge chairs. The gym is missing a trendmill, there are bikes for cardio but not great options. The restaurant we had breakfast at was pretty good. The chicken and waffles was amazing and the bagel sandwich was delicious.

The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. And, it is a beach resort, so nothing unexpected! The service is outstanding. Everyone is very friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you are visiting Vero Beach, this is my top choice for walkability and service!

Gorgeous stunning tranquil full of life, yes please to at least stopping for a stroll…read more The time, energy and planning I can only assume went in to this place is staggering. Working here would seem more a labor of love, surrounded by constant flora and fauna. Turtles, ducks, dragonflies, spiders and lizards joined us in our experience. Bought a hand tool with lifetime warranty plus supported local business. :)) Pricing is fair for the niche market. Happiness! :D You can trust me, this is universal energy. ;D

We knew we wanted a beautiful place, intimate and where we could just show up. We researched top places for a small wedding and Rock city popped up in a top 20. After seeing the photos and being the only place with prices online, we called and they were able to meet us and show us the grounds the same day. First thing is first; not only does Vicki Green have a perfect name for her job but she also a perfect personality and love for what she does. Just walking around the garden with her and listening to her, we knew that she would be the perfect person to help us. Vicki helped us from start till literally the moment we got into our car, married. She helped with color ideas, made all the bouquets, boutonnières and corsages. She was there for the rehearsal and the day of. Helped with the music, escorting people to the bathroom and making sure people weren't walking into the bridal suite before I was ready. After the wedding she helped with making sure we had the best locations for photos. My day was stress free because of her. I honestly would not change a thing about that day. If you're on the fence, go and ask for Vicki! It was an hour away from our home, and I would have driven 2 hours.
