Best Indian food in Windsor. Always excellent! Owner is very friendly. Butter chicken is his best dish.

I ordered the Singapore Mixed Noodles, while my friends went with the Singapore Fried Rice and General Tso Chicken. Every dish came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The General Tso's sauce wasn't quite what I'm used to seeing in the States -- definitely had a different twist -- but my friend who ordered it loved it, so it just comes down to personal taste. My Singapore Mixed Noodles were absolutely delicious, and I really appreciated being able to customize my spice level (a small detail that makes a big difference!). Portion sizes were generous, and we all left with leftovers -- never a bad thing! The server was welcoming, attentive, and super kind, which made the whole experience even better. We came right when they opened, so it was pretty quiet -- just us and one other person (who I think was an employee). It made for a peaceful, relaxed lunch before the rush. Overall, Hakka Khazana is a hidden gem if you're craving flavorful Indo-Chinese food with great service and portions that don't disappoint. Definitely worth checking out!

The service was not great as it took over an hour for the food to come out (we only had the space for 3hrs) and they didn't even get to bring dessert out because we ran out of time. However, the food I did try (placed on the bar, buffet style) was pretty great, especially the tikka roll-up ie the paneer taco. The roti was perfectly flaky and the paneer with onion was the perfect combo. I had 4 just by myself and they are a decent size. The shrimp manchurian was also very tasty and had a nice kick to it. I also enjoyed the samosa chaat and pani puri. I am not the biggest fan of hakka noodles, but these did have a nice spice to them. The chicken and paneer tikka masala were solid, but I wanted the curry to be a bit thicker/creamier.

I get that I'm older, and probably not the clientele they are looking for, but they have never ever been attentive, even when like yesterday I was the only one sitting at the bar. They genuinely make me feel like they don't want me on there and am more of a nuisance to them. Fooswise, I have can't really say anything great about it. It's pretty basic, you can get better Indian food from so many other places in the metro area. I was hoping that their menu might be more adventurous and interesting but it was pretty run of the mill. It's not bad food by any means, but it's not going to impress you either. As far as their cocktail menu goes, I don't think they have a true cocktail lead, the drinks range from basic and uninspired to kind of gross. Being from Kerala I was interested in the Kerala Mule, and boy did I regret it. Either they don't like South Indians and purposely made it terrible or they need to taste their drinks before putting it on the menu. The more standard drinks were very well made. Aesthetically this is a beautiful spot. They really brought the colors and the design. The DJ stand being an old Indian motorcycle is a great touch. The pool table in the center of the restaurant is lovely as is the colorful umbrellas that adorn the ceiling. Visually an eye catching spectacle that really heightens the experience. At night this turns into more of a club feel, the dark lighting and the DJ can make it a fun night out. Bonus point for having an old Aishwarya Rai movie on the big screen. So while I might not specifically come for the food, I would come and have a more classic cocktail or beer and either start or end my night here, assuming I wasn't ignored the whole time.

The tandoori chicken came out sizzling on a hot plate. It was cooked perfectly! The sag paneer was excellent. It had just the right amount of heat. The butter chicken has a nice sweet flavor. I've been craving Indian food for the past few weeks so I decided to pop in…read more They had just opened for dinner and the waitress and the owner/chef were very nice and said they were going to turn on the A/C (33°C) outside. I sat near the windows. I ordered the vegetable pakora (6pcs for $2.95), onion bhaji (2pcs for $2.95), and the chicken tikka masala $12.50) with basmati rice (rice comes with it but you have an option of naan instead. Not sure if that's extra though). I had questions and the waitress sort of answered them. She was very attentive with water so that was nice. She asked me what spice level and I said extremely spicy, the max possible. The appetizers came out first and I'm aware it's made with chickpea flour but that's all I tasted. It comes with a sweet and sour/plum sauce dip which was good but both appetizers literally tasted just like dough and no veggies or onions. I wouldn't get them again. I waited about 30-45mins on the chicken tikka masala. I do understand that they had just opened for dinner so they were probably still prepping a bit but I was the only customer at that time. Three more customers came after me and one got their meal before me but maybe his dish took less time. Who knows. The chicken tikka masala didn't have enough chicken in it to justify $12.50. It was okay. It tasted like tomatoes and was on the sweeter end. The dish was not spicy in the least so that was extremely disappointing. And it's not even my taste buds that have gotten used to spicy food but there wasn't even a hint. It was just super mild chicken. The service is nice but I more than likely wouldn't come here again (unless I was craving Indian food while downtown).
