Best Indian I've had in Melbourne. I haven't tried them all, but I've compared this one to about 5 others from around the South East Suburbs. The atmosphere is also nice, especially on a warmer evening with the front windows open. read more

Indii is one of my absolute favourite Indian restaurants in Melbourne. I literally stumbled across…read moreit a few months after they opened when driving passed one night, and thought I'd give it a go. I'm so glad I did as it's pretty much never disappointed, and everyone I've brought along with me over the years has loved it too. The restaurant is spacious and the chairs are very comfy. The tables are a good size too, which in this case is important because some Indian restaurants have slightly smaller tables than all the ordered food allows and it can be a nightmare, but the whole place is open and relaxing. The menu is pretty much what you'd expect from a good Indian eatery. All the usuals are there and they have a good selection of naan. Their butter chicken is one of the nicest I've ever had, and everyone who's ever had their naan has loved it and said how delicious it is. The service can be hit or miss. More often than not, it's pretty good. It can be let down by focusing on all the take out orders and UberEats orders. It annoys me, because it would be easier for them to add a further 10 minutes onto each estimated order time, than it is to leave sitting patrons waiting. It's not normally a drama, but on occasion that's where they do lack good organisation (but what restaurant in a similar boat doesn't, right?). They may be a little slow sometimes, but they always get the orders right and the staff are all friendly. From a price point of view, you definitely get good value for money, and they even have a loyalty card where after six meals, you get a main dish free. Portion sizes are good for what they charge and this makes it great if you're watching your budget. Parking is sometimes a bit of a struggle, but this end of Bay Street isn't quite as jammed as the side closest to the Highway. Overall, if you're looking for a really nice night out with beautiful food that's well priced and totally delicious, look no further than Indii. It's really worth a visit (or two or 20).

We were seated right away and you couldn't help but notice the nice colourful decor and the authentic Indian music playing. Their menu is wide and varied and has a good selection of Vegan options if that's you. The Samosas were really good. The pastry was nice, crisp and moreish and the filling was perfect with just the right amount of tang. For main, the Butter Chicken was also cooked perfectly (though there was a slight hint of a processed taste to the chicken, which I didn't really love), and the sauce was magnificent. The garlic naan and rice were also perfect. They had been very accommodating in any request we had to have meals modified, which was very good and helpful. Would I recommend coming here? Yes, I would. Very much. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and accomodating, the pricing is reasonable, and along the lines of many other restaurants. Parking at times can be a little hard, but right now it's easy enough, but don't let anything deter you from trying it here because you'll be glad you did.

This normally would mean that the food is not that great and it can be a great deterrence to prospective diners. New to the Caulfield area however and with a strong craving for North Indian cuisine, we chose to brave it and eat in. As expected we were the only ones eating in but the phone rang non stop with people making phone order and several parties walked in to collect their take away meals during the course of our dinner. In Radha's case, the saying, don't judge a book by its cover certainly rings true. Try the black dahl, lamb vindaloo (very spicy) and the tandoori chicken. And since no meal is complete without dessert, end yours on a sweet note with the Pistachio Kulfi (Indian ice cream).

Well, it turned out the be the second option (the reason I say this is because our first outing involved an organised banquet). Anyway, this place actually stands out from the pretty typical and standard restaurants that we encounter around the place, and offers a style of dish, which is vegetarian in nature, that I haven't encountered previously. It simply seems that most restaurant strips are basically made up of a standard collection of restaurants, so finding one that differs is actually pretty cool. Certainly worth checking out.

However, don't let that discourage you, we're here for the food after all. We ordered from the take away menu which included the Sag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma and Chicken Biryani. Every dish was filled with amazing, rich and tasty flavours. Sag Paneer had huge pieces of cottage cheese submerged within the spinach. Both the chicken and lamb were cooked perfectly, tender and a joy to eat with their respective sauces where you could taste the freshly ground spices and herbs. The Chicken Biryani had a pleasant sweet taste mixed with a wonderful amount of spice with hidden pieces of tender chicken underneath the rice. The garlic naan did a wonderful job of soaking the sauce with its fluffy goodness and texture. We ordered the regular sized versions of these dishes and there was enough to feed us twice over ticking the cost-effective check box and raising my smile dial even further. The service was friendly and prompt, the chefs dressed neatly focusing on their food preparations was nice to see. I have read some negative reviews concerning the food quality and taste and I'm worried that these reviews are not authentic, so please take their advice with a grain of salt and do what I did and ignore them. Yep, that winning feeling :) If you're in the area looking for the Northern India food experience, it's hard to go pass Ameer Tandoori. Although the décor needs work, the food is sensational and one restaurant you shouldn't miss out on.

I ended up deciding on the kibbee (which was honestly one of the best things I have ever tasted) however I also tasted the chicken and rice, lentils and rice, and the dips with pita. I would absolutely recommend ALL of those dishes as they were all incredible!!! The dessert was equally amazing and the portion sizes were perfect! Despite being fairly busy, the waitstaff was very helpful and quick. I really appreciated everything that they did to make our dinner perfect. The atmosphere of the place was very comforting and the candles really added to the vibe. Everything about the decor made it seem like I was in a whole other place for the night. I have never been to Lebanon and I hadn't eaten very much Lebanese food before but after eating there, I really want to fly directly there. My family has their recipe book and when I tasted their rice and lentils I was immediately transported back to my childhood. Their food felt so nostalgic. If you have a treenut allergy I would advise you not to come as Lebanese food does have a lot of treenuts, however Abla's was very safe for me and I think anyone else with another allergy would feel very assured with the way that the staff handled it. Overall our experience was incredible and Abla's is an amazing place! If I lived in Melbourne, I don't think very much could stop me from going every day!!
