Organised by the Indian Australian Association of South Australia, the Indian Mela (Fair) is held yearly to celebrate the diverse and colourful culture of the Indian community from India.
Cultural performances belting classical and Bollywood tunes, row of stalls offering delicious Indian cuisine and its much loved desserts like gulab jamun, ladoo and the likes welcome each visitor on a fascinating cultural experience.
There are jumping castles for the kids, bazaar stalls featuring Indian textiles, clothing and accessories, and my favourite stall a Mehendi and a eye brow threading stall.
I've given this 3 stars simply because they've recently charged for entrance fees ( previously none) and I feel since food and drinks prices at the stall can be a little over $15, they should be able to cover their costs as the Mela does attract a huge crowd, not just the Indian community but fellow locals too.
Still, if you like to experience a bit of India, this Fair will set you on the right track. read more
