We had walked pass this place earlier this week and planned to revisit this place on the week end. Got a place right away. Unfortunately, on weekends you can dine-in only for 1.5 hrs as people were standing in line to get in. Drinks were decent. Food was with good presentation. We ordered, chicken saag, chicken madras , chicken Briyani , chicken pakoras and naan. All dishes came in promptly 10 mins. Chicken Saag was delicious but Chicken Madras was almost bland. And this later was a recommended dish. None of the dish come with either naan or rice so you have to order them separate. The chicken Briyani was good tasting. I would have given a 5 star rating , but we felt rushed as the hostess even before we could sit we were told we need to be out by 1.5 hrs. So we almost ended up keeping a watch on our time. All in all I do believe the service was good. The Ambiance is done up well, although, must say that the changing light did bother me a bit when it turned red while reading their menu. We were craving Indian food about half-way through our trip. We spotted this place while walking through Nice and decided to go here for dinner. I would say the food is pretty good and decently priced. We got the thali and biryani to share between 2 people. The biryani wasn't really that great.. but I am very particular about my biryani. The thali was actually very nice, so that pretty much made the meal. I recommend trying the thali if you stop by here. read more

Excellent Indian food. I had the tikka masala which was very good. My friend had the lunch special which was a chicken curry, cucumber yogurt salad, vegetable biryani, and watermelon. The naan bread was light and fluffy and paired well with the tikka. Sitting under their colorful umbrellas finished the afternoon with a touch of color. Just lovely. read more

Very good Indian restaurant in old town nice. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating. Long menu have plenty of veg and non-veg options. We tried Massor dal, mutter paneer and butter chicken. Butter nan is better option then Chappati. Restaurant is very busy but service is not bad. read more

It's not even real Indian food, they use the same orange gravy in all their dishes and lather everything in cream. The plates and cutlery were all really dirty and the cloth napkins smell like wet gym socks (you might think I'm exaggerating but I'm not). Lastly, they have these weird chandlers that hang over each table, but they keep crashing into your head and and you can't even see the person across from you. Being Vegetarian in Nice, France is NOT easy! Fortunately, we found this little gem near our apartment. Several veggie options and great flavor. It was a great change from the one meatless dish (the "mixed salad" with lettuce, tomatoes & cheese) found everywhere else. Service in Europe is not like it is back home (in the US), but we knew this and haven't expected it. That being said, these guys went way above and beyond our expectations. The host, server, and other helpers/other servers were friendly, helpful and super attentive for Euro standards (and probably for some US standards as well). We had the coconut rice (amazing), regular rice w/cumin seeds, vegetable curry, chili naan & Baingan bharta (seriously amazing!). The drinks were ok (might be the only place in Nice that didn't know what an aperol spritze was), but we weren't really there for the drinks anyway. The server suggested a fried onion appetizer, which we'd never order back home. It was ok, but the sauces that came with it made it worth ordering! We couldn't finish everything and I'd read that boxing up food isn't really a thing here, so I didn't ask. The guy who came to clear our table offered and packed everything into a tupperwear-type dish and gave us reheating instructions. The only thing I'm a little disappointed about is the level of spice. This was our 2nd Indian meal this week, and neither place made the dishes spicy, despite us asking for the hottest/spiciest available. So either there was miscommunication at both restaurants (our French is OK, but we do make mistakes), perhaps this is just a cultural thing... Indian food is just not made spicy in the south of France? Either way, it was a great experience and great meal! Highly recommend! read more

We are visiting Nice from Oregon, USA. We are not wild about seafood, pizza, spaghetti, etc. those items seem to be the most prevalent on the menus here. We stumbled across Indian Lounge a few days ago, and have now eaten dinner here twice. The food is exceptionally good and the staff are friendly and attentive. They speak English. I had the chicken mango and my husband had the chicken Tikka masala, both with basmati rice. The chai tea was very good. They don't serve it with the milk in it like they do in the US. They bring hot milk separately. Compared to other restaurants in old town, their prices are very reasonable here. read more

Spent 8 days in Nice, this place was so good that we went back for a second night! Granted, all we ordered was the chicken tikka masala, but hey, that's all we wanted. It was simple and great. Plus, you've got to check out the attention to detail that the owner puts into decorating this place. We prefered the outside tables tucked away on the side alley - more intimate and nicely decorated. Service was excellent as well - everyone spoke English. Very helpful. read more

I'll start with the two incidents that forced this restaurant from a solid 4-star rating to a 2-star. I ordered the chicken vindaloo and when it arrived I found a staple...yes, a staple...broken into two parts in my mouth within the first 2 bites of food. Now, that wasn't even the worst part. I understand, crazy things happen sometimes. That wouldn't have stopped me from going back to this restaurant. The thing that will stop me from going back to this restaurant is the fact that when the manager was walking by, I approached him about the staple and showed him the two pieces. He grabbed the first one and rolled it between his fingers and said it was a fennel branch. In the process he dropped the staple piece on the dark outside streets of Nice and asked for the other piece. I gave it to him to examine and he promptly dropped it too and said I was wrong, "it definitely isn't metal". Fennel branched are not bent at perfect right angles nor are they as hard as metal. I would have left at that point if we hadn't settled in 3 children and 4 adults for dinner. The food after that was wonderful and every server we had was exceptionally gracious, but if you have a problem that requires managerial assistance, then good luck. read more

Sitting here with a full belly and 3 glasses of wine so please excuse my grammar. I was wondering around at first thinking French food in France, but the. I thought I'm on vacation I should eat whatever my heart desires tonight. I seen this place with beautiful colorful umbrella hanging all around. I decided to stop. Soft busy chatter of the French alley way but in the distance, soft indian music from inside. I was stuck between ordering the lamb biriyani or chicken tikka masala. I couldn't decide. I ordered both. The waiter kindly recommended I only one since the portions were large. So I went with his recommendation of the biriyani and a glass of rouge chateau of Gabriel. omg so good! I had the order the chicken Tikka masala after eating the buttery lamb folded into the sweet tangy rice and a bunch of cilantro. Again the waiter Graciously warned against the amount but I had to try it after experiencing the biriyani. While I was waiting I order another glass of the delicious red wine. Then with the buttery naan I scooped a bite of the creamy spice-ful saucy chicken tikka masala. Bomb. I had leftovers but it was worth it. They offered me complimentary shot of sweet liquor.
