It is nice and out of the way. It is a paved road from highway 74 all the way. Nice fire pits, vault toilets, and good picnic tables. There is a natural spring but the forestry people capped it off, that way they can say there is no water. a wrench is your friend. Now in the name of wokeness they have renamed it from Indian flats to something completely non pronounceable read more

This is my partner & I'd go to camping site near SD. It's never too crowded, so it feels secluded & the vault toilets don't get nasty. It's beautifully situated under oak trees with lots of trails near it that have all sorts of cool rocks. Like the other reviews say, you have to be careful which road you take. Google maps will send you through those 3 miles of unpaved road & it is real rough if you aren't prepared. Our friend's car got stuck driving through it. But there is a paved fire road that's a lifesaver. Overall this is a great camp spot! read more

I grew up coming here and it was the best! It was recently closed due to a fire but it's opened again this summer. There's vault toilets and no running water for years. The stream has also been dried up for several years. It's beautiful, lots of good hiking and amazing area for star gazing. Over the year less and less people frequent it. It's walk up only campgrounds. I believe there are 16 sites. Noise carries if there's loud groups and there's no camp host to keep down the noise. The 6 miles drive from the main road is well paved and a nice quiet drive. read more
I first went to this campground almost 10 years ago. It was the perfect first time experience for a new camper. Secluded to the max. Do not enter in though the Temecula side without four wheel drive. It's a 3 mile really rough dirt road. If you come up the 78 and go through Wynola it's all paved. Indian Flats has a few random trails to go hiking on nearby but mostly it's amazing for how rare the campsites fill up. We went during Labor Day and only five sites were being used. All the sites have trees and there are two restroom spots. Nothing fancy. No water! Each site has a picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire pit. Make sure you bring a pen so you can properly fill out your registration form. read more
