Went here for dinner with a friend recently, and noticed that the menu is different compared to Gateway. Lots more choices, maybe to cater the younger crowd here. I had the lamb rogan josh with medium spice. Excellent price for what you get, and the lamb + sauce were very flavourful. I however wish they offered a few more lamb pieces, it felt like I had to drink more sauce to make up for the lack of meat. Still good though! Service was excellent here. Overall I like the Gateway branch more, but there's some food options here that's not available in the northeast (e.g: more poutine options). So depends on what you want to have.

The blend of paneer chunks and creamy spinach is great paired with the butter naan we had. The rice side is yummy mixed with that dish too! The rice we ordered is soft and light. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious. The employees here are really nice too.

I told her I was a vegetarian who liked cheese and sandwiches and wraps. She pointed to the menu and told me that the "Aloo Tikki Wrap with a drink" would be a great fit for me. I decided to try it. The meal comes with fries and a drink. I chose a can of ice tea. I told her to make my wrap not spicy and to put cheese in it and she said okay. I was so happy when I bit into my meal and discovered that it had flavor and exotic spices in it BUT it was not spicy hot. I love trying new flavors and this wrap is excellent! There's also a big TV on the wall which is nice to watch while sitting down at a table while eating. They have tons of interesting foods for vegetarians and non vegetarians and vegans. I definitely need to come back and try more things.

Started with samosas which were prepared with chickpeas and sauce which I had not had that way. Very good and provides excellent additional flavor. Next was butter chicken which I found a bit sweet for my taste and was the same sauce on the paneer. The lamb vindaloo was cooked well but not spicy enough for a vindaloo in my opinion. Overall great experience and will go back.

I agree with Anlina that this place is a totally hidden gem. The restaurant itself isn't that large but a good family sized restaurant with about 16 tables (many seating 4 with some 2s and a larger group table). Service is pretty attentive with the water refills. The buffet selection is not that large compared to East India or Ivory but it definitely offers enough for any Indian food fan to be satisfied. Some of the dishes aren't kept as hot (temperature wise), it felt lukewarm as it seemed like some dishes had been sitting there for a while. Other than that, for $12.99, I have no issues with this place! The best dishes are actually the vegetarian ones. The palak paneer was smooth, creamy and had a little kick to and great seasoning. The eggplant bhartha has great flavour and the most delicious potatoes. The vegetable korma was also rich and creamy. The butter chicken was okay - it's average, not that flavourful. The shrimp curry suffered a bit from sitting in the buffet pan as the last few shrimps I got were stringy. The spicy chicken was in a bright red sauce, though it didn't taste that spicy to me it had some good flavours going there. The vegetable samosa is baked, the pastry is a bit too thick for my liking but the filling is pretty good. The plain naan is included, a nice perk as many places charge extra. The naan tasted like it was baked as well and not made in a tandor oven so it tasted more like westernized flat bread. This place is located in a stripmall, so look for the Dairy Queen that's across from Samosa Crown on Keewaitin.

Samosas have always been a favourite from here but when attempting to order the samosa plate, this…read moreis what I got (attached photo). I was later informed (by the customer mentioned below) that the plate I received was similar to a more traditional way of eating samosas similar to how you'd find it in a household. Story time: At first I thought it (the order) was a mistake because I ordered off of door dash and the bag it came in was just an unmarked plastic bag; so I reordered but received the same thing. I was disappointed given that I was expecting 8 individual samosas (as shown on the Bengali sweets website), so I gave the store a call. When the owner picked up, he was nothing short of rude and expressed that he couldn't explain anything over the phone and that I should come to the store in person. I was free so I made the trip and when I went, he made no attempt to explain or rectify the misunderstanding, he was rude and patronizing (saying I am ignorant and don't understand the culture because I'm not Bengali which may be true but I did my research so I thought the comment was rather offensive), and he was trash talking me and a fellow customer (who stood up to him for me when he made me cry) to a customer who walked in during all of this. In total, me and another customer (who had insisted on buying the 8 samosas I tried to order) spent 1.5 hours at the store waiting for the food on the owner's promise that the food would take "five more minutes". I wish this experience hadn't happened because me and my community genuinely love the food there but the owner's behaviour and actions are hard to ignore.

Their signature dish is the Arabic Shawarma, which is similar to a chicken shawarma, but cut into bite sized pieces. I'm a bit wary when it comes to chicken shawarma as I usually prefer beef or lamb, but they did do a good job here. Slight bit of dryness in the chicken, but their garlic sauce more than made up for it. I believe Ramallah and Baraka are both slightly better shawarma places than here, but Les Saj is definitely an excellent option if you're in the Polo Park area.
