Gosh, like a moth to a flame, I'm like a Yelper to a new restaurant…read more I already had dinner sorted out at home but when I drove past this new restaurant in Sutton, my car steering suddenly seemed to have a mind of its own as it steered me into a parking spot to take a look! This review is written with apologies to my mum, to whom I made a promise to lose weight and also to Miyun C, my personal Yelp calorie counter! Lahore Spices looks out of place on Sutton High Street - its bright lights and shop front of trays and trays of ready cooked curries makes it look like it's been trasnplanted lock, stock and barrel from Tooting High Street where restaurants like these are a dime a dozen I do like freshly cooked food but sometimes with curries, it does actually taste better on the second day, maybe because the suace has had time to develop and become deeper and more complex. Hence I'm not worried by the fact that these curries are in big serving trays at the counter, all ready for serving and heating up. Also, it is sometimes hard to get an idea of the finished product by reading a description in an Indian menu but here, you can peruse the curries at your leisure They do a good trade in takeaway customers like me but there's also a proper restaurant area as well. There's a large menu above the serving counter and a tandoor oven and grill behind the counter In a bid not to overeat, I decided to get food that my sister could take in to lunch the next day rather than the usual sandwich. So, tubs of lamb briyiani and lamb handi went into my order and I got a little tandoori chicken as an appetiser before dinner tonight - I promise to do a little extra running at hockey on Saturday! On the way out, the words 'mango lassi' caught my eye and I had a takeaway cup of that. Unfortunately, the popaddom I got was soft and no longer crunchy. Being British, I didn't demand a new crunchy one and chewed the soft one on the way back to my car The curry was yummy enough to be worth the calories and I'm hoping Miyun will forgive me for those extra calories!

I visited Lahore after a friendly drinking session at the local wetherspoon, I was surprised to encounter such a tasty filling reasonable priced establishment. A lamb shish kebab roll set me back a whopping £2. That's right, £2! Succulent pieces of tender spiced lamb with salad, mint dressing and chilli sauce in a naan bread wrap. You can't go wrong! I'm yet to try the other items on the menu but will definitely go back as soon as possible!

Why this place fails to be packed to the rafters every weekend is beyond me…read more My family and I have been eating here for years, as have many of our friends mostly on our recommendation. It seems that the folk of Worcester Park are far too wrapped up in Pizza Express to be worried about the local businesses that give our high street some character. This gem-of-a-restaurant serves delicious Nepalese cuisine in a relaxing, albeit often quiet, surrounding. The waiters are second to none with their friendly and attentive demeanour and ever-smiling faces. The manager seems to come out and greet every customer and always has some friendly banter about him. I highly recommend the lamb rogan josh although have had many dishes and have never been disappointed with my choice. This restaurant should be a booming success so come on people, let's give the bland chain restaurants a break and celebrate our local businesses! I guarantee in no time at all you'll be making it your Friday night regular.

I discovered Munal about 4 weeks ago, and since then have had 3 takeaways and eaten there once…read more I've passed it since it opened about 12 years ago, put off because I didn't really know what Nepalese food was like and have never seen it very busy - don't get me wrong, they're busy, but not as much as some WP establishments. I came across when looking for a takeaway, and this was the top rated restaurant on a curry rating site. The food is fantastic - nicely flavored, lots of sauce and very fresh, without a hint of oil unlike some curries. Service is very efficient and friendly. Give it a go and don't miss out like me.

After talking with the host I found out he was from the US, Arizona to be exact which was pretty cool considering he did have a slight accent. I later found out that he had lived in the UK for about 10, reason for the accent I guess. Now onto the food. I ordered a few appetizers to begin with. I order chicken somosa, fish tikka, and a kebab (which the host gave us complimentary). Not one thing didn't take good, so much so I ordered somosa's to go. From there my main course came. I had butter chicken with rice, boy was it good. I've had Indian food many times before but this one was on a whole other level. The chicken was tender and full of flavor and the rice was super fluffy. All in all great, and the next time I want Indian food here in the UK this will be my go too.

CHECK RECEIPTS FOR ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES…read more. I have been a frequent customer of this restaurant for a long time, and I have noticed that their service is consistently poor. Today, I discovered that they have been charging a service charge on my receipts, despite the fact that this is illegal for restaurants and hotels. When I brought this up with the staff, they became defensive and thought that I was arguing with them. However, the receipt clearly states that the service charge is optional, which suggests that the restaurant is engaging in some illegal activity intentionally. I would advise anyone considering dining at this restaurant to check their receipts carefully and be wary of any additional charges.
