We just moved here from out of state, recalled people saying "spicy" is not spicy here in Arkansas. I want to preface this review with that. So we got take out from India Cafe nearby. Ordered several things to try family style. Butter Chicken- medium Chicken Vindaloo- medium Shrimp Tikka Masala- hot Chicken Tikka Masala-hot The medium wasn't very "medium", I would call it mild, but had fabulous flavor, was very happy with it in all. The "hot" was like THE GATES OF HELL UNLEASHED IN OUR ESOPHAGUS , SINUSES, AND EYE SOCKETS!!!!! hahaha The naan, was pretty traditional and very good. We ordered cheese stuffed, garlic, and bullet. You might guess that the "bullet" naan was spicy YOU ARE RIGHT!!!! WE SHOVELED THE GATES OF HELL IN OUR MOUTHES, with PIPING HOT SHOVELS!!! Ok, I'm exaggerating a bit, but my face was already on fire, so this seems accurate. haha I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK HERE, and order again. Was filling, true flavors, and exactly what we ordered. Lastly, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, not soggy, and paired well with sauce (I'm a seafood snob) so extra happy with this. Good job to the kitchen!!!! The rice was amazing... you gotta try that. Ate here at 4:00 pm. We couldn't find another Indian rest open at 3:00 We ordered butter chicken spice 4. And Curry chicken 7 spice. Neither were too spicy. Butter chicken was a little better. Well seems like another year went by so I had to give another review. Again, the food was fantastic and the staff were friendly. I was able to use a coupon too for our meal so that was great and easy to do. The restaurant itself is nice but I feel like they could revamp the place a little, mostly the table cloths and seats. Food was good, ordered chicken vindaloo 8/10 spice. Just enough heat for a little sweat. Will for sure go for the 10/10 on their heat scale. Garlic Naan was great. Amazing Indian food in Arkansas. I am originally from the Dallas area and have an excellent Indian restaurant called Indian Palace. I have even driven to the west coast from here looking for the best Indian food along the way. India Cafe in Bryant is at the top of my list now. Beats my experience of Indian food even in New York City . I had the best chicken korma I have ever eaten today at the India Cafe. The shrimp tikka Marsala was absolutely fabulous. the onion naan bread which was perfect. I moved to Hot Springs a few years ago and Indian food is non existent here. I have been cooking my own which has been tasty, however not fabulous. Now that I have discovered India Cafe I am so content to be an Arkansasan , I can get my Indian food fix. An unexpected, wonderful find in Bryant! The chicken tikka masala was authentically prepared and "level 6" heat was very good, and didn't cause heartburn. The chicken vindaloo, heat level 7, was well-seasoned and spicy, and caused just a little rhinorrhea, which was exactly what I wanted. Again, well prepared. If you want less spice, just order heat level 3 or 4. However, the OUTSTANDING part of the meal was the Chai Tea. Just like homemade chai, with perfect amounts of tea, ginger, cardamom and evaporated milk. The staff was helpful and responsive. The interior is not Indian, but looks like a "retro" diner, with chrome fixtures and teal booths. Quaint, airy, and clean. Would absolutely recommend this out-of-the-way find. read more

We have in in but mostly take out from this restaurant. The food is delicious but even better the service. It has been so long since our dine in experience- but I recall being super impressed. Seemed like there were a lot of accompaniments brought to the table and in good portions! Don't get that everywhere. Also the naan has more flavor than I have ever tasted at any restaurant. And I have had naan all over the world. The bullet naan is for those who like extremely spicy. In my youth that would have been my thing but due to allergies I cannot do it anymore. We were passing through for a night a decided to try the Indian Cafe. The food was very good. One thing was we ordered take out as we were staying at a hotel. They didn't give us any flatware or napkins. So hard to find some at the hotel. The saag aloo was a hit and we'd highly recommend it. Omg yum!!! I am so glad that we have a good Indian place south of the city now! The buffet has fewer dishes in it than Star of India (which is the standard all Indian food is judged against in central Arkansas), but it tastes great and is 30 minutes close to home! This is North Indian cuisine, from Punjab, but not blow your head off spicy. Just really flavorful and good. Also this place is really cute! I love the decor. A mix of 50s diner and modern. We were the only customers on a Tuesday night from 5:15-6 :30pm. Service was prompt. Got chicken korma , lamb gogan Josh, garlic naan, mango lassi, bombay coffee. The flavors of all were very good. Mild spice levels. But the chicken was thighs with lots of grizzle and fat pieces and tendons. Very off putting. I thought the lamb was pretty strong mutton type flavor but my husband liked it more than me. Was served with white rice not basmati which I kinda expect at an. Indian restaurant. I'll be honest: I'm not a fan of Indian cuisine. It's just not my cup of tea. The sadness, however, that descended on my house when Desi Den closed down was palatable. My wife & kids loved it, and they were sad to see it go. So when I saw a sign advertising a new option here in Bryant, "India Cafe", I was excited to tell them about it -- and honestly overjoyed when I realized it was the new name of an old favorite. They've been several times since we re-discovered it (in the old Home Plate location behind Larry's Pizza off of Hwy 5). I think it will be a regular trip for them. And recently they met a friend of the family there, who has announced on Facebook she is now addicted to Indian food. So, again; I can't say from my own palette, but the happiness of my family and the conversion of a few family friends ("this stuff is too good!") means that this place is well worth your time and appetite. read more

This place is such a gem. The best Indian food the Little Rock area. We love the buffet during the week but now with covid-19 we've done takeout a couple times. Everything is just so yummy. The paneer and chicken tikka masala are favorites of my ten year old, and me too. I adore the seekh kabobs. The lamb is spiced with such amazing flavors and the chicken is too tender and delicious to be true. Don't get the cheese naan unless you have a big appetite. It's like an Indian starter pizza just waiting to be dipped in one of the awesome sauces on your plate. If you live in Bryant, heck if you live in Arkansas, and you love non-cookie cutter delicious food from a locally owned restaurant do yourself a favor and try India Cafe. This place is legit, and they have Seekh kabobs(though they are slightly under seasoned). I've been impressed with everything I've ordered here, and they have many of my favorite Indo-Paki dishes. I wasn't expecting to find this gem, and I highly recommend them. Their presentation is top notch, which you don't get with takeout (thanks covid19), but that won't matter because the taste is there. The atmosphere isn't the most Indian. However I didn't come for the atmosphere I come to eat! This place did not disappoint! The goat bhuna was not on the menu. However it was as good as any I have ever had had. The malai kofta was really good as well. We eat so much that our bellies hurt. The garlic naan was really good as well. My daughter and I tried India Cafe for the first time today, and we loved it! Chicken Tikki Masala was wonderful! I had the tandoori chicken, which had a wonderful flavor, but I thought it would be boneless. Garlic naan bread was to die for! We also had the rice pudding, which was good, as far as rice pudding goes, lol. It may be the very best! We're just not huge fans of rice pudding in general, I don't think! Very friendly service!
