Although we have moved, we still make it a point to stop in and eat when we are able to do so. We tried the appetizer, samosa chaat, which was new to us. Amazing taste! I couldn't believe how flavorful this dish was. The combination was very refreshing and delicious, revitalizing even. We then ordered our own dishes and sampled from each other. We also tried medium heat which turned out to be really good, adding to our experience. The restaurant was decorated to celebrate Valentine's Day and it was quite lovely. The gentlemen here were, as always, very kind and inviting. While we dined, I listened to them talk to customers and I was touched by how much care is put into each conversation. The sincerity of the men here is also what makes this a great restaurant. They get to know their customers, they share with them in their experience of top quality, handcrafted dishes. Okay honest review. 4.5 review. 5 star no doubt based on food taste, value/potion ratio, and customer service. $47 meal for two...left full and happily surprised. Well done guys. I've had Indian food twice in my life...Washington DC at a high end restaurant and India Bhavan here in Green Bay....Bhavan hands down. Yelp reviews gave me a straight line to their popular dishes..menu reflected same with star to make it easier. Nan bread (sesame/garlic) tasty too. Not the best Indian food I've had in the area, but not the worst! Prices were reasonable and the food was good. I ordered through pickup so I'm not sure how their dine in service is. I ordered the Shahi Paneer, Pakoda, and Garlic Naan. The Shahi Paneer had a different texture than I'm used to, seems like their version is not strained (a little grainy/chunky), the Pakoda were good as well, lots of batter around the veggies. Having lived in LA over 30 years, I know and love good Indian cuisine. India Bhavan's dishes were very disappointing. Veg biryani rice had too many pieces of raw spice ingredients to count (star anise, large leaves, large, hard chunks of something--cinnamon?). All should all have been removed before serving. India Bhavan was probably the best food I had in Green Bay during my stay. Fair pricing, nice staff, and great food. The inside was average, nothing remarkable, but the food was excellent. Butter chicken (medium spicy) was the perfect level of spice. It was rich, with deep flavors. It paired very well with the garlic naan, which was also top notch. They did however, forget my mango lassi, but I was too far away to bother calling them and coming back. So, that was a real bummer. It would have been a 5 star experience if they hadn't charged me for the mango lassi and forgotten to give it to me. read more

Affordable and tasty! I was here with some coworkers on a business trip and we ended up visiting this place after a local coworker's recommendation, and it was absolutely perfect! We ordered quite a few different types of curries ranging from chicken tikka masala to butter chicken curry to the biryani, etc. and more. Granted I am not nearly as well-versed with Indian cuisine, but since we ordered many different dishes, we tried a bit of each others' dishes, and everything was a hit! Eventually, we got the mango ice cream as dessert and that was delicious as well! I have not tried that many places in Green Bay, but to me this one is one that must be visited when in town! read more

We are from Milwaukee, and travel 1.5 hours to our favorite Restaurant, India Bhavan. Great Food and very personal service, when they aren't too busy to spend time with us. We haven't had a dish that disappointed us, and even the fish fry has a special twist that is so nice. They suggested and showed how to eat chilies with the food to enhance the flavor(incredible, but not for the inexperienced chili eater). Great experience and recommend it highly. read more

when they say this place is underrated... THEY MEAN IT! The staff... SO NICE! People of kinds of different backgrounds. They checked in on us a couple times and in the right amount of time in between. We didn't feel rushed and we didn't feel like we had to wait forever to get someone attention if we needed anything. And the place had a good amount of people too so it's not like they weren't busy with others as well. Right when you walk in you see it looks nice, it's warm, and the smells take over and it's so nice! We got seated pretty quickly and got served water right away. If you tell them it's your first time there they tell you the recommended and most popular for first timers which we got and then we got some other things we wanted to try as well. They gave a chip like appetizer with two sauces one green and one brown. The green one was like mint with a little bit of spice and a hint of pickle as an after taste. It was pretty interesting. The second sauce was sweet with an underlining taste of meat even though there was no meat in it. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masada (which was recommended) and we got it mildly spicy. It was SO good. It tasted like pumpkin or some sort of sweet cinnamon and gave me the feeling of Thanksgiving dinner. It was by far our FAVORITE dish that we ordered. It was not that spicy which is good for us but if you want spicy I would order the chicken curry. The chicken curry was spicy even though we got it mild. We ordered a side of bread which was also recommended to do and they have many flavors to choose from. We went with Garlic which tasted amazing by itself but if you dip it in the curry it is a flavor overload, so we recommend getting plain bread to dip in the curry. It was soft and thick and really good though. Like I said this place is very underrated and a hidden gem since you would never really look at it passing by. It's also just off the highway so it's a bit off to the side, however I HIGHLY recommend this place if you live or are visiting Wisconsin! read more

I travel most weeks of the year and I'm always looking for variety with my meal choices. Finding this in place in Green Bay Wisconsin was a huge surprise. I've come twice now and the meals I've ordered have been excellent. They make the Naan in house which is extremely rare. (It's delicious as well). Moving to Green Bay, I am SO HAPPY to find a good Indian spot! We probably eat here at least once a month and stick to our favorites (butter chicken, shahi paneer, and garlic naan). Everything is always so good. The garlic naan is never chewy and always soft--even by the time we get it home! The flavors and spice are definitely there, but are held without sacrificing taste if you ask for mild. We haven't ever dined in, but it is a pretty large space with a bar, so we will definitely check it out sometime. read more

We went last night-- AGAIN-- and as always they delivered not only an amazing meal but also an amazing dining experience and atmosphere. The owner is such a neat guy, always stops by to talk for a few minutes (so happy and positive!) and we just enjoy him so much. I ordered the mix grill which was perfection on a plate but then I missed my curry so we will have to head back soon... boyfriend got the butter chicken which was also delicious. Sesame naan this time instead of coconut (good to try new things!) and EVERY naan has been amazing. What a fantastic place to eat! Large variety of items to choose from on the menu. Many vegetarian offerings, and different spice levels. I have tried nearly everything on the menu, and I have not yet found something I would order again. Appetizers are great, especially Chicken 65 and Gobi Manchurian! I live in San Diego, where we can get a lot of excellent Indian food, but I'm originally from Green Bay. When I'm in town visiting family I love to come here to get my Indian food fix! The food is really good, especially for Green Bay where it can be difficult to come by different cuisines like this. It's pretty comparable to the options we have in San Diego and other places I've ordered from while on vacations and road trips. My youngest brother is always down to meet me here, but not all my family members are as adventurous with food. This trip, that younger brother had a baby at home, so I wanted to bring him and my SIL a bit of an Indian buffet while he was home with his 1 month old. Their favorite items here are the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala, which I knew were super similar dishes, but that's their favorite and I wanted to make sure they had both. My parents were joining and I knew they also liked these dishes... they can be a bit adventurous but I don't think they're SUPER adventurous, so I wanted to pick a few items I knew they'd like. In order to add a bit of variety, I planned on ordering the two favorites (butter chicken and chicken tikka masala), the Navartan Khorma (a veggie dish), the Baingan Bhartha (which is now the Baingan Marsala on their menu - a ground eggplant dish), and the Shahi Paneer (gotta get something with that homemade cheese and this had good reviews on Yelp), along with a garlic naan and coconut naan... possibly also a chicken biryani because I figured my mother would love it - we have some EXCELLENT biryani places in San Diego. Well... the server I ordered from didn't like my order because a lot of these items have the same sauce. I had to push to get my brother and SIL's favorites which very much are the same (butter chicken and chicken tikka) but he talked me out of the Baingan Masala... I personally think ground eggplant significantly changes the flavor, but apparently not enough for this server. I had to point out that I didn't want all chicken dishes. He had me order a chicken saag instead and explained to me that it was dark meat chicken instead of white. I've often ordered saag paneer at other Indian restaurants, but I wasn't sure if it would be my family's jam and sure enough they barely touched the saag chicken. It was alright, but probably better with paneer than chicken or maybe their saag just isn't as good as other places I've been. He also had me order the Kadai Paneer instead of the Shahi Paneer, which was probably a good suggestion. The sauce was a bit tangier than a masala sauce and paired well with the peppers and onions in it. This dish was almost gone by the end of our meal, everyone liked it! When I told him I might also add the chicken biryani he asked if I knew what it was and showed me a picture. I know what biryani is... it's amazing and I've had versions from other cultures that are equally excellent (my coworker once made us a version from Kurdistan that was to die for). He didn't understand why I would want that since we get rice with our curry dishes. The rice you get with curry dishes is NOT the same as biryani, but who knows, maybe their biryani is super bland and basic. I wouldn't put curry over a biryani because it's usually so good on its own. I figured my mother would love it, but we didn't find out. I have no idea if their biryani is good, but someday maybe the servers here will allow me to order it. I get that I'm a white girl and white folks don't always know what they're ordering at Indian restaurants, but they should know the stereotype that white folks love masala sauces. I appreciated the paneer swap suggestion but was kinda bummed that I didn't get the eggplant dish or biryani. I think he felt bad for being difficult about my order, so he gave us free mango ice cream for the 5 people that this buffet order was for. It was good, I just disagree with the server that my original order wasn't enough of a variety. The paneer swap was probably a good suggestion though. I've only been to one other Indian restaurant that didn't want to let us order what we wanted. The server at that place was super socially awkward and we assumed that was why, so we stopped going to that restaurant. The server at this restaurant didn't seem socially awkward... just opinionated. I hope he'll just embrace the white people stereotype... we really do love that masala sauce! read more

I ordered takeout over the phone, and it took about 30 min for the order to be ready. The servers were very pleasant when I came in to get the food, and everything I ordered was delicious. Not only is the food very good but the Manager Singh is a treasure, he runs a tight ship and always has a smile on his face. The chicken korma is excellent and definitely give the chicken65 a try.
