After depositing my very first check through the BMO mobile app, I was shocked to find out it will take 7 business days to process -- yes, seven! I even called customer service hoping there was a way to speed things up, but got absolutely nowhere. How is anyone supposed to pay their bills or manage everyday expenses with such a ridiculous wait time for a simple mobile deposit? This is 2025 -- every other major bank processes checks within a day or two at most. I opened this account expecting convenience, but instead I'm stuck waiting over a week just to access my own money. If this is how BMO treats new customers, I'm seriously regretting making the switch. Definitely not the kind of "modern banking experience" they advertise.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with BMO…read more Back in April, I received a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from BMO, asking for my personal information to "verify my account." Naturally, I refused to share sensitive information over the phone. Shockingly, from that point until June, I received no official communication--no email, no letter, no secure message--from BMO informing me that my account was at risk of being closed or that any action was needed on my part. In early June, without warning, BMO abruptly closed my account. Not only was I left in the dark, but I also did not receive a check refunding the money that was in my account. I've since had to call BMO's customer service three times, and each time I've received vague and inconsistent responses. One representative claimed the check was mailed, but when I asked for the mailing date, they couldn't even tell me when it was supposedly sent. Then, I was told I needed to go into a branch, provide ID, and that I wouldn't even receive the cashier's check for 30 days after the issuance date. So now I'm without access to my own funds for over a month--because of BMO's complete lack of communication and accountability. ALSO, Zelle with BMO is a complete nightmare. Every single time I tried to send money to someone new, the transfer would get held, and I'd have to call customer service just to have my own funds released. This happened every time--no exceptions. It's ridiculous and completely inconvenient. I've never experienced anything like this with other banks like Chase. BMO's Zelle process is outdated, frustrating, and honestly not worth the hassle. This entire situation has been a nightmare. I expected more from a financial institution. The customer service is disorganized, and the lack of transparency is shocking. BMO, do better.

I had two loans that I worked with two different loan officers. So I called her and spoke with her a few times regarding on the letters we received from the mail. After that she never answer her phone any more. I felt a few message on her voice mail, but never got a return calls from her. Second loan, I was trying to see how much of a property loan I can to approve for. This time I was working with a gentleman and some times this person just seem like he is lost. Many times when I called him and left message for him, most of the time he will no return my calls. One time he did returns me called, but was like a week later.

#2 People's State…read moreBank of Wausau, Wisconsin is the Worst Bank that I have Ever worked with as a business owner for over 50 years. I am an out of state commercial property owner who made the mistake of placing $1,000,000.00 down on a Multi-Million Dollar commercial property where payments had consistently been made in a timely manner for ten years, and when the renter filed bankruptcy and bailed on the lease, People's State Bank of Wausau, Wisconsin Denied and Refused to Consider to Restructure the loan. We Leased the building with a new renter shortly thereafter. There was Cash in the Account in Peoples State Bank to Cover Four More Months Payments. People's State Bank Chose to Freeze the Account and Refused to Withdraw the Payments, and Declared Us In Default. Payments were never late nor missed, and People's Bank Refused To Withdraw Payments From The Peoples State Bank Account That Had Four Months Payments IN Peoples State Bank. THEY REFUSED TO CONSIDER RESTRUCTURE OF THE LOAN EVEN THOUGH THE PROPERTY WAS RE-LEASED. Any other bank would have restructured the loan, but Peoples State Bank of Wausau, Wisconsin was only interested in Bankrupting Us. Peoples State Bank is not Of The People, By the People, Much Less For The People other than the People receiving W2 forms from Peoples State Bank. They are not Ethical, Moral, and cannot be trusted.
