I was so nervous because I've had such bad experiences at other salons (even a big name salon). She was so welcoming and really listened to what I wanted. I did show her some inspo fotos. I felt very comfortable after our consultation. She was very meticulous with her work. She took her time and demonstrated precision and patience (she is a perfectionist). Fast-forward to the end, I was so happy. My hair looked so much healthier and she literally did exactly what I wanted. I have been back since then, and will continue to go back as long as she will keep me as a client. I took my mother-in law to Aisha when she came to visit (she was having issues at other salons as well) and was absolutely amazed. She now gets her hair cut with Aisha when she is visiting from Little Rock. I would love to gate-keep her but it would be so unfair. She's so talented and kind. I'm always blown away by how well my color comes out every time. My balayages and highlights always blend so well into my natural hair. Even 3-4 months after I get my hair color my friends and co workers continue to compliment my hair! - She's honest! I absolutely appreciate Maria's honesty. I usually bring a few pictures as references for what I want my hair color or hair cut to be. She's quick to level set my expectations about how my hair will turn out. I have thick, dark hair and Maria always keeps it 100 with me- before she does anything she will explain how light my hair will actually go without frying it, damage to expect, and how a haircut I may want will turn out differently because of my hair texture. To be in the same room is to be sucked into her obvious joy for everything she does. It's mesmerizing. I went in for a blowout and got great conversation, the best blowout I have literally ever had and a chance to feel some goodness in this mad world. It was amazing. Maria uses THE best products. It was such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. On the coupon was a little note saying I could download the Great Clips app and check in from my phone. While I was at Target doing some shopping, I was able to see the wait time at Great Clips and check in on my phone. I had 17 minutes left to shop at Target. When I arrived at the salon, I informed them I was present and waited perhaps 3 more minutes (I arrived early just so I wouldn't be late). Using the app was so helpful. It helped me maximize my time at Target and minimize my wait time at the salon. Brendan (I *think* that was his name) was really easygoing and chill. All I wanted was an overall trim and to freshen up a few layers ever so slightly. My hair is extremely easy to work with, no special directions at all. I've never really had a horrible haircut because it's not a complicated style, and I am not a complicated or picky person. He knew exactly what to do and performed the haircut in a perfect amount of time (maybe 15-20 minutes?). We did a dry cut so we could see what it really looked like when it was dry/done. There was another customer in there who was getting frustrated and rude with a Great Clips associate about how she needed a particular type of person who has dealt/had experience with her specific type of hair. Perhaps this was not the place for her; maybe she should have called around to more salons or done more research. There are early bird, senior citizen, and late-night specials. I believe it's $10.99 for a hair cut. I would recommend this for others who are not so particular about their hair.
