A number of years ago, Marcia photographed my infant daughter and myself. My daughter was crying…read morequite a bit in advance of the photos being taken and was still quite distressed at the time of the picture being taken because Marcia only waited a very brief time for my daughter to calm down, which she barely had. I didn't want to cancel and be out the money, knowing I wouldn't be able to afford another photo session elsewhere. Most importantly, Marcia never mentioned that rescheduling was an option, which apparently other such studios will do, if necessary (as I much later learned). The results of the photos were absolutely terrible. My daughter looks completely miserable, with sad eyes, downturned mouth, and flushed cheeks. In fact, she looks like an infant who had just been crying. And because I was a new mom and not sleeping much I had dark circles under my eyes. Marcia did not retouch the dark circles. The worst part is that what could have been a treasured photograph is one of the worst pictures we have of our daughter from this time, and one I never had framed or displayed for this reason.

We communicated over Whatsapp for the date and I sent a deposit to secure that very day. A month before the shoot I contacted her to confirm to receive additional details for preparation. Marcia did not book me and claimed she never received the deposit. I sent a screenshot of the deposit and Marcia just sent the deposit back without an apology or empathy for not securing the date. Her work is beautiful but the stress that was involved with the booking process I would not recommend. I had to rebook H&M and find a new photographer. Luckily, I found an amazing photographer who made it stress free and delivered on her commitments.
