Thank you another perfect cut. When I called on Thursday just before noon I knew it was a long…read moreshot that Bao would have an opening that afternoon. But I had to try, I've been procrastinating and the length was getting annoying. Mr. B answered, told him who I was and ask did he have anything that afternoon. "yes 1:30" I'll take it thank you. Now I had to be on time. I know the penalty for being late. You don't disrespect Mr. B's time he always respects yours. I made it in time and as said above another great cut. No waiting for the chair and quick efficient professional work, done in 22 minutes. Bao's the best.

The salon is clean and beautiful We went in for a consult, my daughter's birthday was that week and we also wanted to pamper her a bit we were able to get an appt the next day but as we went to drive away John came out and asked if we could work with him, and he would do it today if we could be flexible with the time frame which actually did not seem to be an issue My daughter's hair came out beautifully. He listened to exactly what she wanted, he cut and then dyed it, washed it, styled it straitened it he was so kind with her as she a bit shy. The price was great also she said she will have to fly into VA to just to get her hair done again LOL amazing job thank you

We happened to stumble across HH while going to our favorite pizza place (Sal's) & noticed the shop right beside of it. My son refuses to let anyone else cut his hair, we are so grateful to these men for the incredible job they do! Thank you!

I purchased a Groupon and walked in for a haircut. $7 for $25 of service, that sounded like a…read morepretty sweet buy. There is one barber chair, so if there's multiple people sitting down, rest assured it's going to take a long time. There was a gentleman getting his cut and two people sitting on the couches. They also have two clothing racks with various apparel for sale, it's like a satellite version of the Newport News flea market. I took a seat on the broken couch right under the TV which was blaring BET at a volume usually reserved for trailers in the movie theaters. Two or three other people came in and sat as well. We had no idea how long the wait was going to be or who was even next in line. I got a little impatient because the same guy who was sitting in the chair when I entered, and had a half an inch of hair all the way around his head, was still sitting there 30-35 minutes later. Needing to get on with my day, I walked out and drove away. Hopefully, Groupon will refund my purchase, or at the very least allow me to exchange it for another one.

I should've posted this over a month ago. When covid hit in 2020, appointments for haircuts were…read morealmost nonexistent. I decided to let mine grow, and grow it did, eventually morphing into a ponytail. It got to the point to where it was a bother, and I decided I needed to get it taken care of. I wanted a good haircut in a good barbershop....not an $18 cut at a chain shop. Internet research led me to The Proper Barbershop. I had a terrific experience at The Proper. Alexandria listened to what I had in mind and took excellent care of me. Great cut, hot towels, beard and mustache maintained, eyebrows trimmed, hot lather straight razor shave, facial massage.....just outstanding. After all was said and done, I had ten years shaved (pun intended) off my appearance, and I received more compliments on the cut/trim than I could count. I can't recommend The Proper Barbershop enough...great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, and a most excellent result....well worth every penny!

The bad: as a new person in town-NO ONE TOLD ME I needed an appointment to get my sons hair cut. Every where I lived before was walk in first come first serve.
