What went well? Everything, I've had some great pedicures, but I REALLY look forward to this location for next time. The process I had was a 'tag team' ... nails & massage, that started with my choice of a nice wine ... wow. My nails were perfect. It was the least painful polish removal I've ever had, expertise with an excellent polish removal tool. They are gorgeous in my opinion, and healthier having the nails properly trimmed. As for the massage ... the occasional swelling I in my legs I'd been experiencing that day (caused by food, etc) was alleviated. I've never had a massage like that one. (If it had been a whole body massage I think I would have floated out of there on a cloud ... A-MA-ZING!). Near the end of the massage the feet were 'soaked' within separate bags of comfortably hot salt solution. The final step was a hot towel wrap covering both my lower loves & feet. The man having the same treatment next to me, took it all in stride as he's a regular. It was an absolute 'production in pamper'! So glad to have found Impressive Nails in Rapid. read more

Went in for a gel pedicure with acrylic on one toe. I informed them I just wanted to smooth my feet, and the gel, no need for the massage with stones. All I got was my toes gelled with the acrylic. Nothing was done to smooth my feet. I was charged $60 Will not return on future visits to Rapid City. read more

Finally!! Yes Yes Yes!! I found a place that I am very happy with, and not just with the way my nails are done and look, but with their Service itself!!! For me any type of salon means my "Me Time." Meaning I expect respect, kind of a library type of volume, conversations wise. Because I want to fully enjoy the experience of being pampered, from nails all the way up to whatever else I want to treat myself with!! Not only are these people excellent at their trade, but they are kind, respectful and the best part of it all is that they allow you to relax and enjoy yourself while they take good care of your nails, regardless if it's pedi or mani. ** Now if you really want to treat yourself, go at least with the Deluxe Pedicure, no one else in town matches the experience!! im not going to lie for the quality of my nail job/// given it took 2 1/2 hours total to dip my french short short square vcut mani and just a scrub on the wifes feet (i honestly think she went slow on purpose or acted like she couldnt understand me to charge me more for something she did and i didnt want. ) i unsimila (take pity on) the nail tech and gave her the tip .... total = $140 i will not be returning because my dipped nails are already cracking my gelled nails are chipping. they look like cellulite, so much bumps. the overall essence of the place as i took in those seconds was halfass. they do everything so fast without concern of the quality or the customers hard earned money being spent. while i sat there the young male went through 4 people compared to myself with the young lady. if you want your style in the moment then i highly recommend these people but..... your gonna hate them two days later no lie!!!! my nails are idk what you call it when the dip comes off and it looks like bubbles in your nails. i got reciepts to prove i was in there yesterday morning. read more

I was in town for a wedding and needed a place to get my nails done. They fit me in quickly and were very attentive. I did gel mani and pedi and the prices were reasonable considering the quality and service. Very detailed mani job. The pedi was very relaxing, lots of time spent on the scrub and massage. I have been to many nail salons, and this one is not only great value but very clean, the employees are so friendly and professional, and they do a great job! For the delux pedi, you get a glass of wine and a nice long foot massage, unlike most nail salons that rub your feet and calves for about 45 seconds and then you're done. It doesn't have that overwhelming smell of chemicals like a lot of places. I cannot believe they only have 2.5 stars because this is a fantastic salon and i will keep coming back. read more

I've come to this location a few times since moving from LA. They have simple nail design, no art at all. Their selection for gel nail colors is pretty low. But they are usually pretty accommodating which is why I kept coming back, but when I made an appointment a day in advance at 9am on a Wednesday... I arrived at 9:10 and they had already given it my time away and told me I would have to wait an hour. The place was completely full. All I need was a simple manicure. I expect that when you make an appointment that it is held at least 15 minutes or they should call before giving it away. read more

I am not from around here so I was having difficulty deciding between all the different options here. I decided on impressive because they had an opening, and I'm so glad I did. I got a dip manicure with an extension, and while it did take a little longer than it usually does, and was on the more expensive side, it was worth it because of how well it turned out. I have been going to this salon for about 19 years. I have never left with a bad set of nails or pedicure. Mary, the owner, has taken great care of me and I would recommend anyone to visit her. All staff are great at what they do and are always polite and friendly. They take their time and you can tell they are dedicated to what they do. Well first of all, let me comment on the fact that I went in the day before to make sure I had a appointment. I wanted it because of a specific time I was in town and was going out to dinner that evening and wanted time and not a rush case scenario. It so happened that my sister in law wanted to join me for her first medi and pedi. So I decided to take her along with me. We set up a appointment for 3pm. When we arrived there was only 3 workers, all three were working on people and looked like they just began. They told us to sit in the massage chair, in which we did but by the time they came to work on us it was 3:45. I mean that is such bad service right there over 45 minutes late, why do they even have a sign for to book appointments if they dont honor them. Understandably they want to make money, but same point they should of looked at their book and made sure what time appointments were when the others had arrived, or at least know they were running that far behind,but no they did not say nothing. Second of all they asked what kind of pedicure we wanted the standard or deluxe, I said what does the Deluxe have it in well we cover like Calisus, sure enough thinking well I have been to many Nail Salons before and since being in Rapid City can not be much more, Well thinking I was going to spend about a total of $50 or $55 on a mani and pedi, since in California bout 20, about a double more would be expected since small town. Well as the Pedi and Mani went ok, it was probably not the best I have ever had, but I wanted to make it feel like it was for my sister in law for a good experience since it was so tardy on the time. With this being said, after all said and done and out the door ended up paying $140 for a mani and pedi "WHAT THE HELL" that is more then I pay on my hair or even I could of gotten a facial and massage in California for that and about 6 mani and pedis for that in California, I was in complete Shock! Plus I still needed to tip them, as it was not the workers fault about the price, management, should look at bringing prices down for a mani and pedi it should be $50 to say the most for both not $70 WOW If I were you and travleing make sure you get it before you come to South Dakota the prices are outrageous... OH YA ANOTHER DOWNFALL ONLY CASH OR CHECK!!! I called made an apt for 415, I arrived on time they put me in a hair for pedicure. I selected the deluxe 65$.. waited for 20 minutes and my water was cold at that point. Gentleman that finally came to start. Warmed up the water with boiling hot water. Then he basically did the massage part and scrabbling my heal. I think he wasn't licensed because I had to wait for someone to cut and paint my nails. Massaged my right leg a least twice as long as the e left. I was suppose to get a manicure but after 1 hour and 45 minutes of a disappointing pedicure. I opted to finish taking off the dip polish and just a quick polish. That took another 30 minutes (soaked the dip off during the pedicure). I sat under the ligh and fan to dry my nails for ten minutes like she suggested. The lady even said my toes were dry. Put my tennis shoes on walked out to my car took them off and noticed the polish was messed up on hands and feet. I went back in asked them to remove all the polish and give me a partial refund they refused said they could fix it. I explained I didn't have any more time to waste. I will not be coming back here. I paid 61 dollars for a " deluxe" pedicure that lasted 30 min. The guy who did my toes was so rough with the clippers, I told him twice he was hurting me. I also did not appreciate the way he was moving my feet around. I felt man handled. I thought ok.. The massage will be good right? Nope... He grabbed my right leg and massaged for maybe a minute and then grabbed my other leg and massaged a little longer than the other but still not 61 dollars worth. Then he puts the Too hot wax on my feet. I was going to get a manicure but I was not about to let that guy get a hold on my hands too. I reluctantly paid them and got the hell out of there. I don't know maybe the other ladies are better there but i have never felt more uncomfortable at a nail salon in my life and I better be getting the best damn pedicure for 61 dollars. Went to get my nails done after work - they had a couple people in front of me but I didn't mind as I wasn't in any hurry. The lady I got was super friendly, took the time to really look at what I wanted, and did an excellent job with my nails. Usually when I get my nails done they are sore the next day, but this time they weren't! Probably because she wasn't in any hurry to get them done and really took her time and paid attention to detail. I will definitely be going back! read more
