    Pad see ew with tofu
    Meredith R.

With interest piqued by Yelp reviews, Imperial Palace was on my 'must try' list. In our estimation, the restaurant falls short of the Thai place down the road, and garners 3.5 stars. I thought BBQ ribs would be reminiscent of what we'd get in NY Chinese restaurants. My mistake. Overly saucy, somewhat fatty .... (Guess what leftovers my husband gets for dinner tomorrow night!) Pad see ew which we ordered with tofu, was fair. Bean curd was crisp (which is good) but bland. Noodles needed a dose of soy sauce and a sprinkling of sprouts. Tangy chicken was well received, even with its gummy sauce. Lastly, Imperial Palace's green curry was delicious. However... the beef was tough. A word about service: they need to step it up. Not once did anyone come by to fill our water glasses or inquire about the food. The owner asked if we need boxes, while we were still eating. "Yes, but not yet." Nonetheless, containers arrived on our already crowded table. As did the check. (They weren't closing for another forty five minutes and there were other customers enjoying their meals.) I wouldn't deter anyone from going to this family-owned business. Imperial Palace isn't bad, and their presentation -- if that means something -- is appealing. I however, will eat elsewhere.

We love this place! We have been twice recently for lunch. So tasty! Great and friendly service and just the right spice. This hidden gem in Hiram is worth the drive. Lunch special prices and serving sizes are excellent. Regular menu prices are a bit higher, but we have tried a lot and like it all! The nam sod was well flavored. The pad Thai was excellent. I had the sweet and sour with pineapple on our last visit and enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend got the spicy eggplant and loved it. The only thing that was so so was the house noodle soup which was a bit on the bland side. We have also had basil chicken, ginger and mushroom (delish).

Tried the shrimp pai Thai Beef soup. It was okay Pad Thai was sweet, added chili sauce so it could be hotter. I would have preferred it be hot. Overall it was better than the Chinese food.

I've been making regular stops. Lunch menu has some nice options. I've never had a bad meal. Today I showed up after 4. Dinner Menü. Ordered Pad See Ew. With chicken. Rice noodle dish with broccoli and carrots. Did not disappoint. If you bring kids, the children's menu is limited. The table next to me ordered chicken fingers, and found out they were out of fries. Fried rice was offered instead. Portions are twice what you can eat.

Our family ordered from here for the first time tonight. We were so excited because of the great reviews, and we are going to Thailand soon and wanted to eat at a great Thai place! Unfortunately, when my husband brought our takeout bags in the house, the food we ordered for our son was missing. So, we called back to the restaurant and they asked if we desired to return for that part of our order. We arranged for us to come and pick up the missing food tomorrow. However, after the THIRD call back from Imperial Palace questioning if we were sure we didn't have the food or if we're certain that it didn't fall out of the tied/knotted bags AND telling us they're sure they put it in the bag, we were done. We didn't even want the almost $70 worth of OK food we ordered any more. It is beyond frustrating to have your integrity questioned after they got our order wrong and after spending so much money at this establishment. Needless to say, we told them to keep the food and that we will never return again. We have absolutely no reason to lie about one entree when we ordered multiple dishes. They should have thought about the long game and kept a potential return customer happy.

Today my wife and I were intentionally seeking out something spectacular. I found Soi 3 Thai Street Food here on Yelp (as one should do) and I felt good about what I saw, from the menu, to the pics, to the reviews. My god I'm glad we turned off of the main drag and came here. We were greeted and seated right away. We came a little early and it was not too busy. Service wise, our experience started off REALLY well. Our server was Tarik. This place better hang on to this guy. When I say it was the best service in 5 years in any restaurant I've eaten in lately, I am not exaggerating. We let him know that this was our first time in and asked for recommendations. He went through each of the sections with us and highlighted a few. He really knows the menu and that's increasingly rare these days in most restaurants. I landed on the Gai Yang Chicken which was a quarter chicken with both white and dark meat. This had the smokiest, garlicky flavor that I will dream about. It came with lettuce wraps, carrot sticks and the most amazing Nam Jim Jeaw sauce which was unreal. Fish sauce and fresh herbs and scallions. How could you go wrong? Tangy, herbaceous, a little sweet and salty. Pro move suggested by Tarik: Make lettuce wraps with what you get and dip it in the sauce. My wife had the Gaeng Massaman Gai. Hands down some of the best Massaman curry I have ever had anywhere. It was more brothy (is that a word?) than I've had, but a lot of times when you order this dish, the potatoes make it super thick. This was lighter with fresh potatoes and pearl onions that were sweet from the sauce, almost like grapes oddly enough. Really loved the textures of this dish. We had purple Jasmine rice which was excellent. The only slightly disappointing dish we had was our dumpling appetizer. Not a lot of flavor there and I would have loved a little heat in the sauce or the dumplings. Really not bad but I would have skipped that. The restaurant had a very nice vibe. The lighting was perfect for pics and ambience. Looked like it had a well stocked bar and many selections from wine to beer and cocktails. I absolutely loved this place and our experience and service was 10 stars! Will definitely ask for Tarik each time and we will be back. Run to this restaurant!

I really don't know what happened here …read more.. Against our better judgement, a friend and I chose this place as a back-up option since our first choice was closing for lunch orders. Admittedly, I was skeptical when I saw the limited menu and some of the options (I LOVE Thai food and have had variations in many parts of the world). BUT I was encouraged to know there were at least two vegan entree options on the menu. No. Never again. Not at all. The spring rolls were the most minuscule versions I've ever had. The casing was weird, to say the least, and the flavor was barely there. We ordered a broccoli entree to share. Check out the photos for yourself. WHERE IS THE BROCCOLI?!? My friend's meal was BLAND. My meal was better but the peppers were almost raw. The BEST thing we had was the roti. ROTI. At a Thai restaurant. The absolute best thing on the menu was roti?! No meatless curry options with ample veggies. Not one rice dish, served with veggies. Lots of chicken ‍. Lots of fish oil ‍. Roti was the best thing we ate. And don't even bother with the purple rice. Absolutely disappointed. The server was kind although our 2nd order of roti went to the wrong table - they gladly accepted it with no questions asked - because she was conducting what looked like an interview in between checking on our table. If you've read my reviews you know anything less than 4-5 stars is RARE. I honestly don't understand what happened during my experience at this restaurant but definitely will not be returning.

If you've driven past or been to this place, it's easy to miss and doesn't necessarily scream "must visit." The next visit was take-out. The food was just as good, although I think it's best when served hot. Yesterday's order was for a VERY special event. The order was large (for several people) with some specifications. When I walked in the restaurant, my receipt was there waiting for me to sign (I placed the order online). EVERYTHING was spot on! As requested - and perhaps their norm - they labeled every single item. The food was made fresh and not a single item was missing. I ordered nine lunch entrees and the total was ~$160! And this included the side item that came with each order. The portion sizes were for two meals, at a minimum. And again, only fresh ingredients. If you're ever in the Kennesaw area and looking for authentic Thai food, I recommend this place 10/10!!!
