Got a call back very quickly saying they were on their way and would arrive in about an hour. Anthony arrived with another gentleman, Dom, on time and they patiently listened while I explained what was going on and what I tried. Anthony told me they'd first try to snake the drain and if that didn't work, there was another procedure with a water jet. I appreciated him being upfront about the fact that the first thing they would try may not work in order to set expectations. Decided to go with the snaking and Anthony let me know the price and proceeded to do the work. They were very thorough, spending about an hour working on it and testing it. By the end of the snaking, everything was working without an issue! Throughout the work, Anthony and Dom were extremely pleasant. They took extra care to ask if it was okay to move things onto the counter or if I wanted any extra protection on the floor. The great work, attention to detail, and general pleasantness mean I'll be calling Downtown Plumbing anytime I need a plumber.

For a tiny leak in one pipe in the corner of our bathroom ceiling, they tore tear down MOST of the ceiling, removing the overhead fixture, and breaking it, breaking the hot water valve, leaving the toilet so it would not flush, leaving bulging in the wall showing there was still water behind that wall and destroying the plaster and wall, disabling the overhead electricity, leaving the wires wrapped in a plastic bag, and smashing a beautiful vanity and sink. So, they left us with a smashed sink, no hot water, no bathroom ceiling, no flushing toilet, a badly damaged wall, and no light in that bathroom, a broken fixture and electric wires wrapped overhead in a plastic bag They said they would return,,would not give their name, and lied about all of the damage to everyone we reported it to. We use the Big Apple Plumbing & Heating team for all of our issues. They snaked our drains when we first moved in after the showers and sinks started backing up. They fixed an old broken check valve in the basement and also fixed a passive leak in my third-floor bathroom, which was causing damage to the ceiling of the room below. In all instances, the team was prompt, pricing was transparent, and they completed the work in line with the pre-work estimates they provided. I use Big Apple to perform my annual boiler inspection/tune-up every year. I also have them look at miscellaneous issues around the house. They have unclogged a sink and changed two boiler valves for me free of charge. I appreciate their professional and courteous approach. I highly recommend Big Apple Plumbing!

I had a leak under my sink and Tom the owner sent over Kenny and he removed metal pipe that the…read moreprevious plumber put in since there was a big hole and then he proceeded to remove my BRASS pipe & drain, I said "why would you remove that?? Those I know are really long lasting" he said it will eventually erode, I said but it's not right now..he kept pressing that, that was part of the problem. I don't think it was since clearly the hole was but whatever, annoyed about that. I was charged $550. After he left I noticed it was still leaking and NOW it was clogging! I called them again the next day and informed the boss Tom, he sent over Kenny again this time with a partner, I forgot his name but he was much younger, more friendly, he also seemed more knowledgeable because he right away was pointing out things and I can see instantly he didn't like that and it made Kenny looked bad. Kenny changed the pipes and drain again and kept ordering the younger guy, but when we saw it was leaking again, the younger assistant asked if he can see the area, try something Kenny ignored him and didn't let him do anything but fetch tools for him and the assistant kept asking to see, I got annoyed and said "WILL YOU LET HIM LOOK?" like curb your ego dude! So the younger guy said what could be the issue and Kenny refused to acknowledge it and somehow managed to stop it by changing the drain and pipe again, he said the boss has to charge me for the new drain that he put in, that was weird to me since he didn't fix what he initially came to do the first day but whatever I wanted him done and out already. So an $225 and the next day LEAKING AGAIN! I called the boss and told him how upset I was after paying $800 total my BRASS drain and pipe removed (which I think was taken for themselves) it STILL hasn't been fixed and I was totally pissed and not satisfied. I asked how long has Kenny worked for them because the guy doesn't know what he's doing clearly and he's got an ego & wouldn't allow the young assistant to have a look at it, despite pointing out the issues. Tom was a little snippy when he should have taken accountability for charging so much for shi*tty work & sending over an incompetent person who should have retired honestly. It finally was fixed for good, when I demanded for someone else and NOT be charged a 3rd time!!

It was like the death of all of us... My family and I endured seven long haul months of endless night sleep listening to the toilet run and leaking to rise hot water to stifling hot while one takes a shower. The toilet was immensely wasting water!! In addition, the shower's faucet was also immensely wasting water by dripping like a sick running nose. After two no-shows from this plumbing company of this week and finally a show today, the plumber replaced the toilet's motor, stoppage drain, chain, and toilet's chrome handle with the addition of two new washers of the shower's faucet, and new "hot" and "cold" shower knobs. This company's fees are by the hour for labor, and parts/ materials which totaled an utter gargantuan sum of $275.00. Woodhaven Plumbing & Heating is the area's local plumber as my family have utilize their services in the past. I rate Woodhaven Plumbing & Heating four stars as they have bad attendance of having two no-shows despite of numerous appointments with the added incentive office location within walking distance-- ergo, no excuse! After removing the existing parts of the toilet and shower knobs, the dude announced: "these parts are very bad that I put in all new parts buddy." Duh, really... no kidding Sherlock! That's why you're here to fix it dude! In addition, the work of this plumber is very sloppy as after the dude completed the job he left a gargantuan mess with debris everywhere in our bathroom. Personally, I believe all plumbers leave a mess with debris everywhere to make clients' lives hell as I spent much of the afternoon cleaning the dude's mess.
