I take my time (days or weeks) making bigger purchases and they are very patient with me as well as informative. I have purchased fly fishing gear and flies, a bicycle and cycling equipment, as well as performance clothing from MSL. If I was a backpacker, this would be my primary source of gear. Most of the products are premium brands so they can be a bit more expensive than Dick's or some other chain. If you want to buy quality gear from a local shop, consider MSL.

I went back in person to get my rope and told them I would deal with Ronix without their help. They only handed me back 5 feet of 70 foot rope and told me they lost the rest. I went to Ronix and explained what happened and how I was treated. They happily replaced the rope because it was under warranty and sent me freebies for my trouble of dealing with CBK. I would never deal with them again and made sure to let me friends know as well.

Not only is Ellis Ward incredibly knowledgeable from all aspects of the sport, but he is also an incredible teacher, guide, and all around human being. As an Engineer, I ask a lot of questions and am generally curious. Ellis' knowledge of the sport (from the environmental conditions and their impact on fishing to the physics of rod, line, and lure movement) was impressive. He caters his instruction to your learning style and he is patient with practice and questions. We had a fantastic day on the Watauga River catching trout. From my first communications with him, the primary discussion was around goals - of which mine were nebulous. Learn everything there is to know about fly fishing, and also catch some fish. Tall order, but he delivered. I was able to try out tons of techniques, get coached on the few I found most interesting, and also catch a healthy trout on the local bite of the day - which, from my experience, is knowledge that only the better guides in a given area are able to actively source. Ellis taught me how to throw dry flies and streamers, on both floating and weighted line, as well as a few other techniques I forget - but all in all I learned a ton and had a blast. I have lots of experience on 'traditional' tackle, and I could tell that while of a different stripe, Ellis is a strong fisherman and even better guide. Looking forward to booking him again and catching even bigger fish.

So - We threw on a couple of $2.00 poncho's from Walmart, our worst sneakers and made the best of it. We actually had a FANTASTIC time driving those Outriders up and down the country hill side. Our Guide (I apologize for forgetting his name) was Awesome! He was constantly checking in on us, if we were ok, everything alright, so on and so fourth.
