Bob called me shortly after he received my registration form to welcome me - only 2 days after he arrived at OLOS - wow! The 11:00 Sunday Mass was very well attended, and lovely, with a beautiful choir and sermon. The parishioners I met were very friendly and welcoming, so I hope Fr. Bob feels the love too, as they all seem very happy to have him, after their other beloved pastor retired. Fr. Bob seems to be very kind and caring and smart, and I was so touched that he kindly gave my sick (w/ cancer) dog (waiting in a shaded sun roofed car) a special St. Francis blessing! Thank you, Fr. Bob, and thank you to the friendly parishioners who welcomed me too!

Okay touchy subject, I know. So I will make it quick and immediately preface this review that…read moreit's not for everyone. Nor is this an evangical approach to push anyone to worship. That's not my thing as I usually keep and will continue to keep my spirituality and beliefs to myself. However, there are some out there that are at solstice and looking for spirituality in their life. So I thought I'd take the opportunity to share some information about the one I frequent. I go to a Mass on Sunday nights aptly named Lifeteen. This mass is actually geared towards the highschool kids and has taken a different approach to bring prayer into their lives. But I've noticed since I started going in 2000 that the congregration of adults has grown. There is not usually an empty pew these days and I think it's due to Lifeteens approach. What I personally like about this Mass is that most of the prayer is done through singing (OK so I like to belt out a few tone deaf notes), and it reminds me more of a Baptist ceremony which is more lively. Also one thing I appreciate about this Mass is it concerntrates more on a private relationship with God along with reflection and meditation rather than pushing the needs of the instituionlized church which I'm still trying to digest. (Free feel to ask - my reasons are legit). Lifeteen is held on Sunday nights from 5:30 - 7:00pm. If you ever want to join and need a lift PM me.
