I was fortunate enough to walk by Plow to Porch Organics during a tasting event during my vacation…read morein Santa Barbara. It was an unexpected treat! The owners and staff were amazing people. They invited us to come in and taste two salads from a cook book signing event. Both delicious salads were organic with apples, kale and other local produce. I am certain that this is the most healthy thing that I ate in this town. Their timing was just perfect too, we had just walked down to some local happy hours and were searching for something healthy to eat. Plow to Porch has a great store with a great variety of organic food for retail sale, but their main business is produce boxes. Farmers sell their very best peak season goods to the loyal customers who commit to a box subscription. Both parties win, customers get to experience a nice variety of local crops without the hassle of shopping. Farmers win because it reduces the day to day drama of selling the produce.

We recently discovered Le Sorelle at the Santa Barbara Night market (a temporary holiday pop-up…read moreshop through December) as we were doing some light holiday gift shopping. Donatella invited us up to her shop to try some samples, and we were sold - literally. We ended up buying a couple of bottles for our family and a couple of bottles for ourselves, along with some incredible olive tapenade (she threw in an extra treat, which was very kind). Of the oils, the pure virgin olive oil was the cleanest and most applicable to diverse uses. The mandarino was incredible and so unique...we'll try it on some baked squash or beets or carrots. The limone was super interesting as well, and I think Donatella suggested trying it on salmon. So we'll take her word for it and try that! These are authentic olive oils with very unique flavor profiles. Worth your business this holiday season and beyond! Visit them online or at the Night Market.

Extremely uncomfortable situation walking into this store…read more We came in for tea like the store looked like it offered and my mother ended up getting forced upon by a gentleman selling eye serum. Upon entering there was a gentleman lounging on the couch on his phone, he didn't look like a salesman but the moment he saw my mother he jumped straight to the opportunity to make her feel uncomfortable in her skin. My sister and I had walked to look at other things, not knowing she was being so bombarded... He asked her "do you like having eye wrinkles or dark circles" what??? Excuse me? I had then walked back over to see what he was doing, trying to put cream on her face and I expressed she didn't want it and apply it to her hand instead... he refused and applied it to her eye.... Then telling her to look at the mirror and have me and her decided which eye looks better.... Yes the cream tightened 1 wrinkle, but this experience was horrible and made us all extremely uncomfortable- him refusing to take NO for an answer was the worst customer service I've ever experienced.... It's been 3 hours later and her eye is even more puffed and clearly reacting poorly to the cream.. And on top of everything this gentleman should be the last person selling beauty products, he looked like he need his own services included a bath and a clean shave.
